Liked your video so much I bought the same laser. It is now June 2023 , how has the laser lasted? Is it still working? Thanks
How do you like that mill
If it got worse to weigh-in a flood today it would be the same thing that I would buy to replace it. There is nothing out there like one in my opinion.
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 Thank you I believe I’m going to purchase one
I have 2 and I'm pleased with both.
Does Woodmizer have this as an option or is it after market?
I built it. It is not a wood-mizer option.
I want to laser beam in India how parchas
eBay
Can you please share the link of the laser in eBay ???
How far is it mounted to the right of center?
Just right of the outside of right guide. Directly behind it a few inches.
Thanks for replying
That laser is 5.5V, how long did the laser last after connecting to 12V?
That laser is a 9 volt to 12 volt input. it's still lasting which means I use it everyday. Hope this helps.
Awesome, we a going to do this on our mills
Nice job .I have a similar set up on my LT30. I like it a lot
Yea Id say hickory
Instead of a shovel maybe try a snowblower.
I love milling pecan. Hard on blades but well worth the effort. Also, harder to work with than hickory IMO.
Pecan, very beautiful I red red oak at first until the slab was cut then I was lost. I have not gotten to saw a pecan yet most we have in east Tennessee is not that large and bbq smokers want it so much most get cut into firewood
Have you noticed your mill hitting the light each time it backs up?
I don't quite understand the question. Are you talking about hitting the laser? And the answer is I readjust the laser maybe once a month and it's a very fine adjustment. If that's not the question please specify and I will try to get you an answer. Thank you.
It looks like the exhaust blows against the light and makes it move.
@@brandonderr700 yes kind of has a strobe effect. Definitely gets people's attention. 😁
I just found your channel. Love seeing a cooks mill operated. Thanks for the videos.
If you got a feed sack from the feed store, and used it instead, you could would have all sawdust contained. Empty sack into skid steer bucket on tote bag every time you load new log. Clean work area, and not breathing in sawdust
That will work on some mills for sure but with that mill and a big log you would have to empty it on just about ever pass.
i could see the hole head slightly swinging the camera pan around and i could see it all, the wipers aren't heave enough to handle sticky
i am in tulsa have not seen a mill operate in person i would like to see some time
I WENT to face book you got it all going on
To much sometimes. 😁
your rail wipers aren't cleaning well
When you cut Pine it tends to stick to the rails a little bit more than hardwoods from my experience. The real wipers are really for debris not for fine sawdust. Takes a couple of minutes to scrape the rails with a putty knife and I don't do it often enough but it works well and I don't really notice it being an issue one way or another to just to be honest. Thank you for your questions I always welcome them.
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 I wipe the rails with a rag that has a little bit of diesel fuel on it before I cut pine. Helps a lot.
I have ben watching since last December , I made a list of all I saw then I saw a cooks mill they fixed every thing I saw wrong butt no to many on camera , you still got yours? how long have you had it is it a good one just curios
This is my third AC 36. My first one was a 2006 I sold it working in good condition after I restored it when I bought it. Then I bought this one a couple of years ago it has been a great machine. I previously bought another 36 and sold it within a week of me buying it. It was a investment type deal. Since then I purchased a super wide Cooks that I use alongside my AC 36.
Thanks for the very informative video and I plan to order the laser. I did not see the magnet option so could you please let me know where you purchased it? Many thanks.
If you'll watch the other video it'll show you how to install the magnet. I bought the magnet at harbor freight.
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 thanks!
I've owned woodmizers but never saw a cook mill operate. Pretty impressive
I used to own a wood-mizer before I but my first Cooks. It was a good mill but there is a lot of difference in my opinion in the two machines. Cooks is definitely one of if not the most sturdy machines built today. Thanks for the comment I appreciate it. More videos coming.
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 I live in western north Carolina. Where is the nearest dealer
There are no distributors for them. They sell them direct from the factory which is in Newton Alabama.
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 I currently have a 00 frick on a 471 detroit. It makes good lumber but man I'm tired at suppertime
Do you have more details on this or a write up with pictures? Very nicely done.
Not really I've just got pictures. I bought the winch at harbor freight and I bought the black metal battery box on ebay. And you can see where I mounted it to the frame. I sold that mill a couple of years ago and as far as I know the new owner is still using the Turner.
ash tree also was down in ala last week saw your new mill nice. picked mine up also
Awesome video!
Absolutely super idea. I just found your channel and became your subscriber right away. Stay safe God bless 🇨🇦
Bitternut Hickory
How do you like ur mill out of all the other mills out their
Well I have had a few other mills in the past and have operated or been around most of the other competitive brands in the Sawmill Market. Although there are some features that I like on some of the other brands as a whole there is no comparison to the Cooks. They're built like a tank , they're easy to work on, and their customer service is top-notch. Although all the manufacturers customer service has been a little stressed because of the influx of orders.
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 Is Mule Mountain still running a Burg Sawmill as well?
@@allengibson7346 we've never had a burg.
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 Interesting, there must be two Mule Mountain Sawmill companies. I can see why, it's a cool name for a milling outfit.
Looks like hickory to me.
Yea!! Put it in writing!
Tree fail over dude
Do you have a customer who uses 2x2's? If so, what is the use? Thanks.
Yes 600 of them. I don't know the use. 🤔
Ash
Keep them coming i like them and showing the leaves helps a lot thanks
I agree the leaves definitely help. I happen to have a standing beside my mill is the reason I included it. In the fall it may be a little difficult to add the leaf to the video. LOL unfortunately so many times we see these things there are no leaves available. So that's the reason for the videos is to help identification from bark and wood. Glad you liked it I'll post more in the future.
Im up in the air, If money was no obstacle what sawmill would you buy?
Well since I've owned a handful of sawmills. I've been around pretty much all the name brands and have either ran them or watch them operate, I can tell you that The Cooks ac36 is hard to beat. My Top Choice! Hope this helps.
Thanks again for another good video. By all means keep them coming. Nothing against all of the WoodMizers out there, but it's good to see a few Cook's mills!
Thanks for this video and for the series you plan to do. I enjoy seeing other folk's Cook's mills.
Awesome thanks
At the beginning of the video, at a distance I thought the bark looked like chinquapin oak, but then then I read the comments and saw it was a pecan log. At least I was in the right family. I've never sawn a pecan log, but it sure is beautiful wood!
That's some nice looking wood i have never seen pecan cut thanks
I'll try to get another video of this week.
I'm surprised the Bobcat handled it that easily. Good Job.
We have moved much larger logs than that one with that piece of equipment. It tends to shock everyone that sees it.
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 I only have a Kubota B26 TLB to handle my logs but it also surprises me with its' abilities, but I often need more lifting capacity.
thanks for the video, I really enjoyed it.
I appreciate your comment. We're going to make some more in the future.
Hi Mule Mountain Sawmill, wanted to thankyou for taking time out to make this video. I'm in the market for a band mill, thinking about the 3238. thankyou again.
That would be an awesome Mill. I appreciate you taking the time to recognize the video. Is there any type of video that you or someone you know would like to see? Just looking for some ideas of some things folks would be interested in.
I can see how you adjust the laser in the horizontal across the frame, but how do you adjust it to level with the length of the frame? Is this a self leveling device?
On that particular mill I mounted under the band wheel behind the blade. Mounted as level as you can behind the blade it may not be exactly level from one end to the other but it will be within a fraction of an inch over a 15ft span.
Nice slabs and nice mill! I have lasers for my mill but just haven't had time to install them yet. Thanks for making the videos and keep it up.
Did it take a couple weeks to get your laser from eBay
Yes or 3. Kind of ashamed of where it comes from but it's a necessary evil.
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 Yea I noticed the place of manufacturer. Thanks
Just wondering how you are getting along with the cooks mill? I head to Alabama this week to pick up a mp32 I ordered in the fall,
It is an amazing product....
@@mulemountainsawmill9001 I'm back in ohio now, the quick trip down and back to cooks was fun but long. Pulling a 30ft mill through Nashville rush hour made me wonder if I was gonna make it. Looking forward to using it.
@@darrengarlough5121 As another Cook's AC36 I'm willing to bet you like it a lot!
Cool's AC 36 owner........my bad.
That mill is looking good. just a heads up really enjoying mine. thanks again
Am pleased to see a Cook's on here. If I were to buy now it would be a 3238 hydraulic, but, am too old to get in the business. Hopefully you will make more videos. Do you have enough demand to saw full time?
Yes we are a full time operation.
I am adding this same one to my LT70, based on your recommendation. I'll be using it off the 12V battery. Did you cut off the end with the female plug and direct wire it in? I have a deutsch connector WM provides for a laser and don't think I want to add a battery-run inverter to get an ac plug-too much dust. I am planning to cut off the female end, wire it to a matching male deutsch, and hopefully be good to go...
Great information. I did extensive research on sawmills when I bought mine about 8 years ago. I really liked the Cook's AC36 sawmill and actually put money down on an order. About a week after doing that a used Wood-mizer LT 40 superhydraulic with kubota diesel came up for sale near me, so I cancelled my Cooks order and purchased the WM. I would really love to see a video on your thoughts about the positives and negative on the different mills you have experience with. One thing I don't like about my WM is the loss of use of the hydraulic function after you loose contact with the copper strip, otherwise it's been a good mill. I do think the Cooks is a heavier built mill. Thanks, new subsciber.
