VDH is one of the greats.
Read "Who killed the Greeks." It's one of his more quiet ones. Yet, it is a complete antidote to liberal relativism and nihilism that is encompassed by Progressives.

As a classicist, he takes a long view and has studied so many empires in decline. I've little doubt that his background strengthens his perspective such that we should listen carefully to what he thinks.

He has been a commentator on modern and ancient warfare and contemporary politics for National Review, The Washington Times and other media outlets.
He is a professor emeritus of classics at California State University, Fresno, and is currently the Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow in classics and military history at Stanford University's Hoover Institution.
He chairs the Hoover working group on Military History and Contemporary Conflict as well as being the general editor of the Hoover online journal, Strategika.
He has been a visiting professor at Hillsdale College where he teaches an intensive course on world, ancient or military history in the autumn semester, as the Wayne and Marcia Buske Distinguished Fellow in History since 2004.
Hanson is the author of Carnage and Culture: Landmark Battles in the Rise of Western Power (2001), a New York Times best-selling book.

Mark has always had an impressive list of guests on his show, and he never fails to find such interesting, quality guests. But, I would ask , why is he a singularity? Why aren't there other intelligent, socially relevant programs that could rival in his genre? I really can't think of any other such shows on the air today. Could it be our culture has been so dumbed down, as to exclude the possibility of any more than one such program existing simultaneously? Mark is brilliant and unique, yet I can't help but think there must be other personalities capable of producing an equivalently high quality, entertaining, and cerebral program, and that would surely gain ready acceptance. I think it a sad commentary on society, and on the TV industry, for there not being more such shows. Well, anyway, thank God for Mark's show, at least.

He was saying that Trump wasn't concerned with the establishment or what people thought of him. Then he was pointing out that everything around us is liberal/ progressive leaning, and that they control what we hear. This guy is libertarian, and socially conservative. He says that rights are taken from us when we try to go against the establishment. Finally, he says that people are becoming ungrateful for what they have. Finally, he talks a lot of how the history was to liberate from dictatorships, but we are going backwards with progressive democracies. You are right though, when you listen to it again, you get even more message out of it. I would love to talk to this guy one on one.

This is such a good analysis. Why can't CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the media have this tenor of intellect. Let's talk about real issues.
