- MUST PREMIX 50:1 IF YOU DO THIS CONVERSION
Quick video briefly showing how i went about removing the my VRO fuel pump on my 1996 V4 90hp Evinrude and installing a MasterTech Marine replacement premix kit.
Decided to remove the VRO system as after rebuilding the fuel pump and trying numerous other solutions trying to get more fuel flow into the pump and could not get the pump to work properly at high speed without constantly surging/starving for fuel.
Uploaded a short video of how my outboard was running before this conversion was done

Ordered and installed similar unit from Amazon after 115 Johnson was smoking out the lake. Very easy to install as illustrated in video. Smoking problem gone! Recommend!!!
Did you remove the pulse limiter and put the barbed fitting in? My instructions say to do that, but it sounded like you called it a "spare brass nipple" and didn't have any footage of messing with it.
Hey bud great job with the conversion.I would like to do the same, where can I get that pump from?
Cheers mate
Is you fuel pump conversion still running with no issues or leaks?
Don't know if anyone can help me or not. I'm doing the same change over but I have forgotten where some of the vacuum lines go.
what was exact part number and company?thx
What prop are you running?
Will this work with a 92’ Evinrude 175 Intruder?
can you remove the vro on the motor? Maybe by removing the bottom cowel? mine looks exactly like yours. Also theres a fuel in and fuel out but what did you connect to that last fitting on the bottom of the pump I couldnt see. Any help would be great as I'm doing this shortly. thanks
Definitely need to remove the fuel component bracket (Part Number - 0340082) to do this conversion.
Only 4 bolts and a matter of disconnecting the vst tank hoses , fuel rail hoses, oil & fuel hose to vro hosew and the engine crankcase pulse hose .
The spare inlet that is seen at 2:03 connects to the engine crank case hose
These two diagrams should help explain it

@@onsafariaustralia9588 Great video! I'm running into the same issue. Going to make the change over as well. What prop are you running. It looks like you have that motor dialed in just right!
Awesome video. My question is what was it doing to make you decide to go this route? I just bought the kit you got. Just curious what your motor was acting like before the instal.
My boat was chugging, come to find out my pump had a crack and was leaking gas and had to be replaced
@@paultavella8328 my prop isn't stamped but I measured it and believe it to be 12.5" x 17"P
Stainless steel 3 blade unbranded
anyone who replaces it make sure the air filter isn’t smashing the lines, the curved fuel lines gave me a lot of trouble
Where do I purchase that fuel pump conversion kit
maxrules.com/fixomc-no-oil-vro.php
Or there ebay store
ebay.com.au/usr/exhiguy
Why not just cap off the oil part on the vro
How does this pump “pump” no electrical plug ?
Vacum pump uses engine
Get rid of the gray gas line it breaks down and clogs up the whole system
