VIDEO INTRODUCTION: Ever since the Russia Ukraine war and China Taiwan conflict has escalated, the world has constantly been talking about one important factor and that is a nuclear war!!
and Today while every single country in this world is striving to make mark in the world economy, one of the most powerful instruments of power is the ability to use a nuclear bomb!! and did you know, before we became the second fastest growing country, before we became a 2 Trillion dollar economy, there was a time, when US, UK, China and Pakistan together tried to bully India and suppress our power!! and this threat was so high that the US even considered dropping a nucler bomb on India!! Yes you heard that right!!!
But You know what?? even then because of the extraordinary contribution and initiatives of legends like Homi Bhabha, Indira Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Dorabji Tata, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the legendary Abdul Kalam, today, India stands as a powerful nuclear state!!! This journey took us 51 years and 2 Generations of leaders and scientists to reach the destination!!!! and today their dedication is the reason why India stands at a respectable position in the world economy!!! But as usual, this is again one of the most important of chapters of Indian history that is not taught in schools and colleges and may be because the world of geopolitics is darker than our imagination!!
So in this special episode today, let's do a deep dive and try to understand.
What were the most dangerous threats to India from Pakistan, China and the United states??
How did the leaders of India go against the superpowers of the world to establish India as a powerful nuclear state ?
and what are the study materials to help you understand this important chapter of Indian history?

When Atal Bihari Vajpayee announced "today at 15:45 hours India conducted 3 underground nuclear tests in pokhran range..." Gave me goosebumps. Standing up to the big bullies is something that gets discredited. But not this one. That statement was a testament to all the great work done by our scientists and researchers and Bhabha ji, Lal Bahadur shastri ji, Indira Gandhi ji and everyone who dared to take the bullies head on. It's because of their courage and forevision that India today is a lot more stable and powerful than ever before. Atal Ji deserve the credit for handling diplomacy so well that President nd PMs of US, Japan and UK visited India within next 3 years and all sanctions which were put on India were lifted.
I believe Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ji was best Prime Minister in recent times. When he left the office India was economically doing so well that even the campaign of BJP was "Shining India".
Remember that Atal Ji's 1999-2004 tenure was one of the toughest. During that time India faced Kargil War, Sanctions on nuclear tests and there were other evident troubles politically as well. testing with suspicion . It's written in the constitution to seek scientific truth. When it comes to nuclear testing ,the nuclear (mushroom) cloud above the test site is the proof of the pudding . all recognized powers have tested it above the ground to know for sure if the weapon design is good enough . Then they do underground testing and also computer simulated tests. In India's n Pakistan's case they went straight to underground testing. .Indian leaders knew that sanctions would follow . Then it should have conducted tests above ground to show the whole world that this is the proof that our weapon has a good design.

This should be included in the school chapters. There are some students like me who explore many areas outside books but there are many who can't or don't have access to it. CBSE, ICSE and many other school institutions Please add this type of knowledge in books which will help our coming generations to become more aware of their surroundings and make good decisions.

We must learn from our selfless leaders to contribute everyway possible no matter what ever the problems we have in our country. We all must try to play our part for our country in every possible way. Love you Think School. ❤️💯🙏🏼

Biggest blunder we Indians committed was not electing AB Vajpayee as PM in 2004. Though Manmohan Singh deserves full credit for making India an economic powerhouse from 2004-09, being remote controlled reduced our speed of growth. 2009-14 scams pulled us back.

Too many goosebumps moments in the video. India on the way to become a Superpower defying all odds. What India is today is a cumulative effort of these superhumans in past 75 years. Have read books written by APJ Abdul Kalam and you know what a visionary and humble being he was. Still remember as a kid watched the news on Doordarshan regarding the nuclear blasts, speech by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, not knowing its significance then, but realizing as I grew up. 💪💪
Ganesh, glad you covered the history's important moments right from 50s.

It's a shame that we have put politics and power ahead of national interest since independence. Had Netaji, Shastri ji, Atal Ji been in power for long, i wonder what would have been India's current position. Guess we will never know but it makes me so proud and happy to be born in the same country where such legends and countless other legends were born because of whom we are here today.
