    Rough one. You are still improved on your tactical awareness since 400 days ago. Like we discussed in the Discord, sometimes your improvement doesn't always show up on the board at game time. It's often small nuances that build up over time to become bigger growth. Also, there's no shame in 88 percent accuracy, win or lose. Keep at it. Don't sweat the trolls. They truly lead empty lives and are meaningless in the grand scheme. Cazad0r75.

    I really liked this game Patrick. You developed your pieces and castled. When your opponent took on c4 with the bishop, you didn't take on c4, which would improve whites knight after the recapture but instead castled because you noticed that Bxe6 fxe improves your pawn structure. Well done.
    The moment when you played Kf7 is worth a second look. With less pieces on the board, the activity (or lack of activity) of each piece is felt more. The white rook was on the open a file and ready to infiltrate your position. After Kf7 he could even get the rook to a7 with tempo and soon after you couldn't hold your pawns on the queenside. The activity of whites rook and knight led to material gains. Therefore it was important to stop white from infiltrating your position with Rd8 (since Ra7 Rd1 is mate) or Ra8 might also work.

    Hey in this particular line of the slav/queens gambit, immediately hop your knight into e4 after the bishop goes to g5 (attacking your knight). They ALWAYS take with their knight and after you recapture with your pawn, they **almost** ALWAYS blunder their bishop by pushing pawn to e3. Qa5 check wins the bishop. I'm telling you it's a free win 90+% and I'm 1700-1800 and they still make the same mistake nearly every time lol
    It obviously only works in this exact line of the slav

    Hey Patrick, I hope youre not listening to the idiots on here telling you that youll never make it to 2000. You will. You have the right attitude and a genuine love for the game. I appreciate your content and I believe you will make it to your goal one day.
    I recently suffered a horrible tilt from 1605 rapid to 1400. Ive been in my head, but i realized i got away from my process and its time to get back to it and grind. Same with you.
    I would highly recommend you hire a coach. I was able to find a high quality coach who would meet with me two to three days a week. It helped me to understand A LOT. I obviously have a long way to go yet.
    All this to say, dont ever give up buddy. A lot of us believe in you. We WILL reach our goals if we work hard.

    I feel like you do better when you focus on putting pressure on your opponent's pieces and looking for material gains. You might lose some games with tactical blunders but I feel like you will win more than blunder. Search for forcing moves and not trades.

  • @Roberto-bd9fq
    @Roberto-bd9fq Před 25 dny

    Why not knight to b6, instead you just leave it on d7 where it does nothing. You continue to help your opponent to develop pieces.
    Instead of presenting problems you solve his problems for him. Also applying general principles, get your king into the center, is not always good as another principle of taking the 7rh rank was crushing here, unlike when you played your rooks to opponent's 7th, a number of games ago, because that is what you thought you were supposed to do, but that lost you the game, then.
    So general principles are good to follow if required in the specific position.

  • @katts11

    It really looks like your opponent was using stockfish from around move 15. It's not just the accuracy it's the speed at which he makes the moves... Pretty suspicious for someone below 1500
    Edit: Apparently your opponent was legitimately much better than his rating so it might not be cheating

    • @BigFoxyChess
      @BigFoxyChess Před 25 dny +5

      That's what I thought, but when I looked at his profile, he has barely played rapid and just a bunch of blitz and bullet. And the guy's blitz rating is like 1800. So he's really good with the fast time controls and just beasts on people because his rapid rating doesn't reflect his actual ability. Essentially, Patrick just played a much higher rated player. 🤷

      @@BigFoxyChess I rewatched the game. He is for the most part playing a move almost exactly every 5 seconds give or take on just a few moves. Idk I hate jumping straight to the cheater accusation it just seems sus to me. I hear what you're saying too though. 1800 blitz is very high

    • @BigFoxyChess
      @BigFoxyChess Před 25 dny +1

      @@willbollman6246 definitely go to his profile and draw your own conclusions. I actually thought that at first too when I watched the game but then when I saw his blitz and bullet ratings it made sense to me that he would be able to play the Right moves so quickly. And he barely has any rapid games, 50 or 60 at most. And then he's got a thousand blitz and bullet games so he's just used to playing fast. But I also hear what you're saying and I think you would be right to be suspicious initially.

    • @nathanwebster2955
      @nathanwebster2955 Před 25 dny +1

      Doubt it, those moves were all very natural, nothing sus too my eye anyway. Patrick’s style lends itself to making very easy natural moves as he likes to trade everything and/or throw away a piece early. When you are playing a piece up it’s hard not to make top moves because the engine will give you credit for most moves that don’t blunder.
