Thanks man. Good video, especially the comparison you made. I wanted a ko4 upgrade and loads of peeps told me I should change my manifold. This video shows I dont have to change it
next time you install studs use two nuts tightened up to each other as your anchor and use it to tighten the stud , you wont have to use vice grips and eat up your stud. nice vid bud.
Foo when is the next time gonna be like realistically that car gonna be gone by the time he do another stud install nobody wanna buy a special tool for a one time job
It's more for others so they can have the knowledge and most of us own more than one car... some common sense would be appreciated. the tool is like $10 , most of us aint cheap …… Fooo
@@pugzmccormick Stop passing along half-assed info. You can't just delete shit w/o a specific tune or at bare minimum resistor-mods! Sure with a PCV mod plug the hole and run a catch-can, SAI pump will immediately throw a CEL w/o a tune delete or resistor-mod, and if you are emissions tested, good luck.
Get rid of all the SAI shit and do a catch can setup without all the PCV crap. EGR is a bunch of useless garbage as well. You can really clean up and simplify all of that stuff. Might as well do a valve cover gasket while your at it, and just make your own TIP. Grab some piping and couplers and go to town. The stock ones are a bottleneck in the intake tract. That impeller from the turbo you pulled out has tons of axial play. That thing was ready to go anytime so good thing you pulled ot out when you did. To install the studs, you should use the 'double nut' trick instead of possibly mashing the threads with the vice grips. I know you were trying to grab the shoulder of the stud, but still a super janky way to install them.
Although this was filmed in 2019 I mean seriously tho people been upgrading 1.8t almost forever so you can't say the info ain't out there! You never pushed the KO3S, because you never upgraded anything to see it's full potential. Cardinal Sin, No tune, no performance! Did you replace the crappy TIP from stock, No. Sheesh, a KO3S with a decent tune will push 240-250HP with an easy 300 fun-loving lbs of TQ. If you be sensible and upgrade your rods you can easily squeeze a bit more than that. All KO4s are not the same in fact you don't even buy one unless it's a steal or gift. Why, because at the most you'll get is maybe 25HP and TQ over a KO3S, that's why you always see people going to a GT variant this or that. It's simple if you gonna go big, GO BIG! Completely max out what's there then decide, most people can't properly maintain a 150HP car, a 300-400 HP car ain't a child's toy.
A hybrid turbo can give up to 40hp more than the k03s. and I really prefer to have 280hp with a fast spool like a k03s or a hybrid k04 and not a gt28 with 400hp where it wakes up at 4500 rpm
@@alejandrodibenedetto66 I have a hybrid and 334 hp and 310 tq after it was done being tuned with maestro. The spool iw insane, but I am full bolt on everything that could be done is done. Not enough, now going to gtx3076 so let the real power begin lol

Your original turbo was a ko3 not a k03s as you stated later in the video, ko3s don't have a turbo muffler like the one you removed and an upgrade to a k04 from a ko3s is pretty much pointless

Thanks for your video, very helpful, got to replace my turbo
Jesus dude... you really put those studs in like that lol
Lookin good, full boost, more power...
Thankyou!

nice work. I se some other videos and they take of the manifold
Looking at trading my 86 foxbody for a 04 mk4 1.8t with a ko4 turbo and bunch more done to it etc are they reliable at all?
and we didnt get a part 2....
12:02 that’s when I quit and go inside the house 😂😂😂😂
How's the turbo holding ?
Is this the K04 001 XLB turbo?
what model turbo from XS Power? K004-001xlb?
Yaaaaaaa found a BOLF like mine
What kinda rims are thos i want some
Look to put the turbo in you have to go up up down down left right left right b a start.
Nice vice grips rookie! 🤣
That’s a lot of shaft play
It looks like your tires are mounted backwards.
Hello! Do you still have it? How it is working? Is pushing oil out of the exhaust?
Do a SAI and PCV delete and then much less oil will reach the turbo

Wats those rims
What version of new K04 is mounted in the car?
that will be KO4-001
Where and for how much did you get the turbo for?
Not much to be gained from adding a ko4 imo might as well go big turbo
Xs power sells a ko4 with a 50mm compressor. Proven results and reliability. I just ordered mine.
@@CZcamszzzzz how is it?

Aodhan ds01
Xs speed turbo?
Ko4
