    I'm thinking of doing my first ever rebuild on my AWP and going with a bigger turbo.
    Thanks for posting such informative videos.

      VDub In Paradise having a background in drag racing it's actually better to have a well seasoned engine block. It's stronger being through many heat cycles. 👍🏼 Boost the shit outta that thing bro!!!! Nice work 🙌🏼

    also look at the block and head as some times there is bad casting and you need to grind all loose or bad areas that can break off in to the motor -- some times in water holes in block

    one problem when you build a motor buy tops and clean out all the holes that have thread - if you dont you may have dirt or something in the holes - better to be safe blow out all holes

  • @jamilahmed979
    @jamilahmed979 Před 3 lety

    Are the pistons suppose to be a little loose because they stretch when hot? I've watched other video where people have done that and said that it's a common mistake that people don't do. Lmk thanks 👍

    • @VdubInParadise
      @VdubInParadise  Před 3 lety

      Yes it’s called piston to bore clearance. There’s a specification for the wear limit of the space between the piston and cylinder bore. If the space is too large, you’d have to measure the diameter of the piston and either get new pistons and re-measure or bore out the cylinders to make them larger.

    Them piston ring compressors are rubbish,get the ARP ring compressor.
    should use dial gauges it's better than pastigauge...
    Gt28 is far from a big turbo it's rather small 😅😭

    • @VdubInParadise
      @VdubInParadise  Před 4 lety

      markcozzie Nothing wrong with cheap tools to get things done. Especially if you’re going to rarely use them. Manual says to use plastiguage so I will use them.
      As for turbo size, it’s up to you what’s big or not. I consider the GT2871 as the baseline between small and big.
