I have a lip balm in almost every room and each coat pocket. The cold weather is really hard on lips, and it is nice to always have one in reach.

It's called "Adulting" when you get way to excited over a vacume or home appliances! Definitely don't have the industrial vacume sealer at my Costco, l think there are a few items unique to Alaska for obvious reasons 👍

Your Costco is so quiet, I’m in Orlando and everyday the one around the corner from me is crazy packed all the time.

Awesome shopping! Thanks for sharing the meat prices. The last time I bought animal crackers was Saturday. I took a friends goat for a walk and I use them as incentives to walk on the leash.

I just started watching your channel. I’ve enjoyed it, I’ve learned a lot about Alaska. It’s crazy for me to get my mind around the weather and prices. Mississippi very rarely gets snow, (last time was in 2017) it doesn’t even get to cold here. It’s very hot and humid. The cost of living is much less, in a lot of places the quality of living matches the cost. (Not every where) I love learning differences in law, regulations between Alaska and other parts of the US. It’s such a gorgeous place. I’d love to visit in the summer.

Another great shopping trip. Again Everett never disappoints with his smile and giggles. Our gas prices run between 2.55 to 2.85 a gallon here around the Tyler area. Love seeing the snow. Y'all can keep it. We are not equipped for that kind of weather. We are planning a trip to the beach in March. Wish y'all could come with us. Please keep up the great work your doing on your videos. Prices going up on many things here in Indiana. I bought gas on Tuesday for 2.99 a gallon. The next day it was 3.29. Just crazy! Everett is so good at eating his samples. My son was so picky when he was that age and still is. Enjoyed the video and I like your cooking ones too.
That is a huge jump! Everett does love his samples. He is a typical 4 year old though, he will refuse to eat things all the time if he is not feeling it!

Gas here in Kansas City is just under $3. With discounts I’m usually around $2.80. Haven’t been to Costco for a while. Now I want to go.

The yogas set at our Costco was $99 this week. Because of course it caught my eye. They’re for Restorative yoga which I haven’t done much of because you really need these bolsters to do it. I tried with pillows and it didn’t work well.
Very interesting! I just thought they were pretty because we all know I don't enjoy Yoga.
I just love your grocery hauls. Evertte loves his mama he wanted to give you some flowers. Do you have a grocery budget? Boys love sweet pants easy to move and flip around in.

When my son was younger I use to buy the huge containers of animal crackers and then when they were all gone I would use the container for his lego pieces...lol

Great video Lauren. Your gas is similar in price to ours here in Pennsylvania. We have a very high gas tax, thanks to our Governor. Our heating oil is $3.34 a gallon. Way too much money but you need heat.Luna and Everett are so adorable. Cant wait for the food prep videos. Stay safe.

Gas this morning at Costco’s in Miami Florida it was 3.09 .Other gas stations are around 3.35. Our stores here are always packed, I made a mistake of going on a Friday morning. !! I try to go during the senior hours either Tuesdays or Thursdays we’ve had that since 2020. Raos is the best sauce. My nephew lives in Seward Alaska works on the fishing boats and at the only grocery store in town Safeway I think you filmed there before when going to the cabin? I showed him your channel and he loves it. 😆 Everett was extra sweet today he’s adorable🙂

Your gas is 40 cents more than here. It went up to $3.29 yesterday.

I want to go shopping with Everett and you cause it looks like so much fun. Like I said before closest Costco here is 3hours away, unfortunately. Prices keep going up every week at the grocery store here. Went yesterday and freezer section was almost empty and a lot of empty shelves; meat is high to. I noticed I didn’t about $18 more this week than 2 weeks ago. Oh well, love all your videos. Have to look for the meal cooking one. Bye have a great day!!!

Another great Costco Haul!!! I have to get Gary in there. When he was able to walk, I would get so frustrated because I would ask him a question and when I turned around he wasn't there. I would find him getting samples. He is so much like Everett. I wonder on Saturday's if they have more samples. Weekends are much busier. I cannot wait to see what's on the menu, for your cooking vlogs. I made the Mexican Lasagna, it was so gooood!! Lent is coming up soon, can you make some fish recipes, Catholic's don't eat Meat on Fridays. I am always looking for ideas.
Lip Balm, bathroom, dining room, desk, wallet, car, office desk, massage room, coat. GARY said just like you. BURTS BEE has a variety pack at Christmas. They have a pomegranate and a mandarin. Love them. But my favorite is Aveda.
Gas here $3.45 today. But I bet it will go up .10 over weekend. Illinois taxes and so does local. Natural gas went up 2x's. We might have to get a wood stove for supplement heat. It is getting to be to much.

In my part of Australia converted from litres to gallon and Aus dollar to Us dollar. The price of the cheapest petrol(gas) is about $4.30usd a gallon.

Gas prices in our part of IL are running $3.39-$3.45/gallon this week. Organic 85% lean hamburger was on special @$5.99/lb. at the local supermarket recently. I've been able to buy (beef) skirt steak on "manager's special" @$4.99 for 1 lb. - 1 1/2 lbs.; I cut it up into fork-size pieces, and it makes very tender meat for stews and Swiss steak.
I would 100% be looking for meat deals like that if we didn't have a freezer full. The price of meat is so crazy!
@@ThisAlaskaLife I remember from reading former Gov. Palin's memoirs that it seems like a lot of Alaskans stock their freezers with meat & fish that they've hunted or fished for themselves. I got the same impression from an Alaskan cookbook I read once, which contrasted pre-pipeline and post-pipeline grocery shopping habits in Alaska (among other things).
Fun as usual. You're meat prices are about what I'm seeing. Not buying anything that isn't on sale. Our gas is 3.15. And we are having another snow...thanks for sharing.

I can't imagine spending that much money on food every week or so. That's more thank I make. If you didn't fish and hunt, I can only imagine how much you would spend. Just wow. I know you get a huge sum of oil money at the first of every year, which helps cover your groceries and other things, but man it's expensive to live up there, especially with such a large family. Your husband must have a really, really good job.

Do you use a food saver (or other brand) when you store food long term? Do you have any tricks for long term food storage?
We use Ziploc plastic bags and freezer paper for roasts. You can see all about it in our meat processing videos czcams.com/video/cxHefTYvT-U/video.html . We also use 5 gallon food grade bucket to store bulk pantry items.

I recently bought a jar of the Rao's pasta sauce at my local supermarket for $4.99 -- just before the price went up! I've seen the 2-packs of Rao's @$9.99 in Costco haul videos from the "lower 48."
How much are those 8-packs of the 3-bean blend? I like making slow cooker chili a lot during the cold-weather months, too. (And I'll have to remember those 4 x 1lb. packs of hamburger for the chili, too!)
The Rao's was a bit more here wasn't it! I am not sure what the bean price was, I lost the receipt, sorry. I will look next time I shop.

Costco really have nice stuff. Everett guessed the total almost perfect. At Sams, they have the boxes for us to use. Does Costco offer that? I haven't been to one for years.
