- In today's video, I am coming back at you with the latest in AR & VR News. We will begin this one by talking about the brand-new Quest travel mode. This is a mode that will allow you to use your Quest 2 or Quest 3 while travelling. Currently, it is made to work on aeroplanes however more forms will be added in the future. Meta is also working on a partnership with Lufthansa to provide Business class passengers with Quest 3 devices during their flight. Appl lab games are now available in the normal Quest store merging with it, however not all of them are there yet. Meta is also preparing to launch new Quest headsets with special features for education, so that could be something that we see sometime in the near future. The Vision Pro now has the option to launch virtual Mac displays using Immersed software for maximum productivity. The best hand tracking is now even better with Ultraleap releasing their Hyperion software for their Leap Motion 2 devices, and finally, The Apple Vision Pro is getting system-wide Captions support very soon allowing for more accessibility in-device. You missed an important and annoying part about Immersed: They make you DISCONNECT your additional displays in order to use their app. If you have one or more additional monitors, that you paid good money for, Immersed tells you to UNPLUG them. Frankly, it's outrageous. Meta Horizons Workrooms has no such requirement.
That's actually really annoying. Totally forgot I read that somewhere a little while back. No idea why this is a thing.
@@TheMysticle It seems multiple physical monitor support goes against their business model -- they sell their Pro version, which allows additional virtual monitors. If someone already has physical displays supported by Immersed, there's less reason to pay for Pro. The fact they require you to unplug your hardware is a brain-dead solution, especially since there's no technical reason for it.
Immersed is quickly becoming obsolete, Virtual Desktop just rolled out beta for multi Virtual screens, can be connected from anywhere around the world, and should be lighter without the stupid Immersed social aspect of other ppl working near you lol
I assume this is a Mac thing ? tried it on a linux desktop had no such thing happen to me, also tried on windows but don't have multiple monitors on that computer so can't confirm.
I don't see this on Windows, connected to my Windows 10 PC I can use my 3 physical monitors plus 2 additional virtual when on the free tier for a total of 5 screens. Even my 1440p physical monitor uses its full resolution despite the free tier being restricted to 1080p

I tried the travel mode in a car (as a passenger) and it worked great!! Having a massive movie screen in the car is absolutely mind blowing

Just a heads up incase you missed it Mystical, Virtual Desktop just came out with a new beta release that not only includes multi-monitor support, but allows creation of virtual monitors as well. The amount you can use/create is determined by your headset, so quest 2 supports 2 monitors while quest 3 supports 3, meanwhile Apple's vision pro supports several physical monitors but as of this time no virtual monitors yet.

Im using travel mode on a boat and it works great.I was only able to use it when we were tied to the wharf but now it works in rough weather

F-35 like 360° camera feed in travel mode would be my jam. Embracer are probably cool enough to mske it happen for a smaller plane design.

Some plane have a camera for you to see outside, it would be crazy if the put 2 cameras to give yo 3d view from the outside of the plane
Would be insnae if they mounted a live 360 camera the front of plane and stream to the headsets as an option. Why process over the internet when you are on the flight? Have a live stream from the camera local, it would be smoother. That would be an amazing view better than anything you could get from a window.
I thought about that too. I think we'll have that in future.

hey mystical, my friend on his quest 3 is stuck on a screen failed to generate device code, he cant pair it or anything, he factory reset, nothing works, can anyone give an explanation? his meta account wasn't deleted.
i must say travel mode was awesome even on quest 2 i was on a 5 hour plane ride and i spent 3 hours playing games on the plane before the quest died but the travel mode worked very good
Better hand tracking will be key for more accessible AR and VR.

Yoo I got the Public Beta of V65 and It's pretty nice. I saw a video of a guy using his Quest 3 in a plane and I tried it in my car but it didn't work BUT It's ok because I'm going to Morocco in July to see family and it will be my first time in a plane so I will be able to test it out!

Saldly, there is no changelog and I don't know what has actually changed but one thing is for sure! Passthrough has definitely been improved in version 66 in my opinion
Any one having their WiFi 6ghz connection constantly drop? Every 2-3 minutes mine disconnects then reconnects. Doesn’t happen on 5ghz
I find using only 1 display on the Vision Pro makes me more productive and focused. Especially the real state in the virtual display is way bigger than my laptop
Education is a HUGE boon, imagine putting kids in the scenes of history or science projects even math.

Like some Upload vids, way too much Apple Vision Pro info imho. Maybe make separate vids for Apple Vision Pro for those very few users who are actually using one of these. I realise there are chapter bookmarks, just annoying to see sooo much AVP content for such a low use product (compared to more general VR headsets). Thanks.

If a person can afford a Vision Pro, you can be 100% sure that they can easily afford as many 4k monitors in real life as they need, and a large enough desk to place them on.

Meta providing Quest on a commercial plan is the best ever to promote such awesome device since not a lot of people have tried or used VR including so called haters on the internet. Once the haters tried it they will change their mind and actually loving it 😂

Useless. Instead of dealing with nonsense they should remove things like the stupid teleporting in homes. Teleporting instead of walking kills the feeling of virtual reality, and also remove this stupidity of having a movement restriction. Why do you have a big home if you can only walk in a small part of it? We want our homes from Oculus Rift, which were many times better. Complete freedom to make homes, add interior, more than one home and quite large sized homes were allowed (about 100x100 meters if I remember correctly).

Eh, I don't think people care all that much about the home screen, it's basically like a 3D desktop background. Most users boot up their headset and immediately go into passthrough or open a game.
Plus other apps like Bigscreen, CZcams, virtual desktop, etc have their own rooms already.
Yah replace teachers with quest headsets why pay them a fair wage when you can replace them the tech

If they don't add an option to unclutter/fuck your library I don't really care about new features. Update UI every other day but they can't put a simple ass patch in to remove things from cluttering your shit up. Have a game that you used the demo for first? Well now you have to look at that stupid ass demo icon for the entirety of your console's life sitting beside the actual game. I understand the filter out option, but that's stupid. If I want to see my transaction history make it a separate menu altogether. Just because it's your account history, doesn't mean it's a good idea to put it on your main menu.
