I don't think you're giving Videl enough credit. She was always suspicious of her father's claims and frustrated at his behavior. And she'd know in this case that Gohan had lost his father, making her fell at least a little sorry for him, and she'd also be impressed with his bravery in fighting Cell. Would she feel some resentment? Probably. But she'd feel other things as well, and she's smarter than that.
I think she would've found out he was more humble than she originally thought and started to like him.
dude, videl would be 9 at the age when mr.satan proclaimed to have defeated cell. gohan is much mature as the kid literally trained with the demon who once terrorized the earth and the god of the earth. he also traveled beyond the milkyway to another planet, when he was just 5, with a person stated to have 200iq, and an expert martial-artist. he also trained in a completely different dimension which literally crapped the law of phsyics. And talk about videl, she is a rich kid, who believes that ki is a joke and only fights she has seen are so dumb that her knowledge of martial arts at age 9 is not even comparable to the feats gohan had did.

I think Gohan is less frustrating and more sweet to Videl than Goku who was oblivious to what kissing is. He also has dreams of a career where Goku is solely focused on fighting. This leads to a happier relationship and a calmer Videl. Chi-chi loves Goku and is accepting of what he is but knows that she can sometimes win if she gets mad enough.

bulma would go back in time to tell them about the attack and also pretty sure goku got the heart virus from being on an unknown alien planet for year and i can see goku/gohan being able to go ssj cus if the androids killed piccolo or krillin and they whitness it happen then the would turn ssj out of rage because the're ded thats how future gohan went ssj remember the androids wont be as strong as they are because of them not knowing most of the knowledge from goku and vegeta's fight so goku and gohan kill the androids popo tells them about namek but namek would be destroyed due to frieza needing the dragon balls for immortality eventually cell pops out of gero's lab but goku and gohan quickly make work of him due to him not being as strong as we know him frieza wouldnt be immortal since he doesnt know the namekians native language and would try to search for another planet with magical wishing orbs frieza finds out about info on earth and sends in troops to get them but seeing how powerful goku and gohan are they take them out with ease frieza then goes in himself but seeing how Gohan and Goku are strong due to Bulma's warning from the future the take on frieza and easily defeats him king cold looses contact with frieza and then goes to where he was last found which was earth the z-fighters sense a huge presence coming for earth and they prepare them selves for a fight goku/gohan charge at king cold and defeat him Vegeta comes to earth with nappa goku destroys nappa and vegeta easily and tells them to get off of earth they leave then a few years later vegeta trains his ass off is fustrated at how goku beat him easily and can become a super saiyan then his fustration over comes him and he transforms goku/gohan then would be recognized as heros from saving the earth from frieza the androids and cell during goku and gohans training during the time of peace vegeta then challenges Goku to a fight and then beat the hell out of eachother until they are rendered not able to fight gohan steps in and tries to finish off Vegeta but then Goku pleads to gohan to let him go another few years later goku finds out that gohan has hidden potential and finds a way to bring it out vegeta becomes more soft as of being on earth for so long and eventually hits it off with bulma as for the buu saga chichi eases up on gohan being able training since him saving the world shows her that it can bring you fortune gohan goes to school as normal and videl is a normal student there gohan goes to become great saiyaman but videl is determined to unmask him she eventually finds out its gohan and is then forced to go the tournament by videl everything then links up with the normal story except 18 being there goten is the winner of the juniors division and hercule enters the tournament as the defending champion supreme kai enters videl gets pummeled by spopovich and gohan becomes enraged goku gohan vegeta tien and yamcha then fly off to deal with majin buu but since hercule is there and there are no real z fighters left in the tournament he wins and keeps his fame fast forward to when they are in the ship and they fight off babidis minions until they get to gohan fighting dabura gohan fights with him and turns ssj2 just as gohan is about to finish him off dabura returns to the ship and then majin vegeta happens gohan and the supreme kai then rush off to fight babidi and gohan then kills dabura and babidi the supreme kai seals majin buu forever then everything else becomes normal having gohan being goku's then everything else is normal uptil after the universe 6 arc where they use the super dragon balls to wish back everyone who dies during the fight with the androids uptil now then everything is restored to normal

I can't recall. Didn't Spopovich save her on purpose or did she fly to save herself? I can't remember honestly.
There was one moment IIRC that she saved herself from a ring out because she learned to fly. So yea RS A is right and Videl [assuming the fight follows the same beats] would've been ringed out cause she never learned to fly.
Ah well - doesn't really change much in that case other than Gohan never steps in to save her.

I imagine that the fight with Spopovich would have been quite different in this scenario due to Videl's pent-up aggression against Gohan. She would still be very badly beaten, but the exact details would have changed. Spopovich probably wouldn't have sent her flying like that because, if she was fighting so much more aggressively, then he obviously would have been fighting differently as well in order to counter her.
I don't believe that Hercule would have been totally broken by this. At the time, Hercule had money, fame, and Brand Recocgnition. Hercule Satan of all things, is his own greatest Hype man. This would work to his advantage regardless if he was the hero of the story. Hercule would quickly devise a plan to become Gohan's agent or in-guy and take hold of the situation under the premise that he would make sure that Gohan got the best deals. Gohan would accept the help because Hercule did actually play a part in trying to save the Earth, and ChiChi, although she'd fight it at first, would accept it once Hercule found out that she was so concerned about education and that Gohan would have more time to study if he had someone else dealing with the media. Mr. Satan would hunker down and become the Hype man for the hero of Earth, and the only one you could go through to speak to the hero of Earth. As a part I think that Gohan and Videl's Romance would kick off quite early and that Videl would be much stronger by the time the Buu Ark Begins and, with some pressuring by Mr. Satan, as well as Goku returning, They'd all join the World Martial Arts Tournament and Videl, although still defeated, would not be so badly hurt by Spopovich
Mr Satan would also become a best selling author of his first hand encounter with the monster cell that almost destroyed the Earth, and how despite his Inability to actually hurt the monster, he fought valiantly in the background and helped coach the hero of earth to release his true potential.

He would totally say Gohan was his protege he's been training in secret. He didn't lose to Cell, he was just testing him to see if he'd be a good opponent for his students debut fight!

I don't think she ALWAYS believed it, but she was shown to be very skeptical of the fact and incredibly suspicious about the whole thing.

Just to point things out, Goku winning the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament isn't his only public archievement. He defeated King Piccolo, something I believe is still remembered; even though not many actually remembered the name of that young hero, the King Doge of Earth (yeah, the motherfucking dog!) knows who he is, it's even shown in the anime during the Cell Game and, with Gohan defeating Cell, this Goku archievemente will become known after some digging, thus cementing Gohan heritage as Earth's Mightiest Hero even further. The Son of the hero who defeated King Piccolo so many years ago defeating Cell, what a headline!

I don’t think Videl would hate Gohan in this scenario, It was Hercule’s fame that turned him into a bad father. I think because of this Hercule would be forced into being a better father and Videl would be kinder and less overconfident as a result. We could still get the romance as everyone would know who gohan is and if she ever sees him (which is likely if gohan goes to the same high school) then she’ll still want to fight him and learn how to do ki stuff, but instead of blackmail she can use guilt tripping. At this point just like the show Gohan stepping in to save videl would be the tipping point for the relationship.

Oh geez, guilt tripping Gohan might be even more effective than blackmail. I mean, in an extreme case, Gohan can just vanish into the mountains to avoid public backlash from blackmail, but guilt tripping? That shit burrows into the soul, no running from that.

I also think this is a more likely scenario. Either that, or her anger/hatred towards him drives her to become obsessed and then turns into affection, as is wont to happen in these situations. In fact, it is what happened in the main story line, except she didn't hate him, but found him annoying and intriguing...
Even better: When it becomes so obviously apparent that Gohan possesses Superhuman abilities (Not to sell Satan short, who is merely Olympian) he would eventually disclose the existence of Ki/Energy, perhaps even publishing a book like in the Dragon Ball MMO. MAYBE after the Cell saga, and DEFINITELY after the Buu saga, we'd have a rapidly growing population of Ki wielding warriors in the humans, eventually with the whole of humanity being high-powered, raising Universe 7's mortal level, and thus perhaps even making them immune to destruction the Omni-Kings would visit upon the weaker universes, since the Tournament would have never happened, and thus we stick to the original plan of the weakest universes being destroyed with no chance to save themselves.
One planet powering up hardly makes up for the "mortal level". Universe 7 is low because, of what was sort of mentioned during the recruitment arc, it is pretty much devoid of life compared to the "higher" level Universes.
At best, it would put them up 1 or 2 ranks
I mean, the extinction of the saiyans did affect the overall power level of universe 7, so maybe a whole planet of ki users would help.
Except that was never really the plan, the Zeno's even confirmed so themselves. They just wanted the fight to go on and thought it'd be more real and get the weaker universe's more invested if they thought they'd all die. They always intended for the winner to bring all the universes back afterwards, so the comment they intended to purge the weaker ones was a lie.
They did want to purge the universes before the suggestion for a Tournament, but the idea of giving the weaker universes a fighting chance and sparing them if the winner's wish showed mercy for the erased Universes ended up being their plan.
Now, i don't think Universe 7 would end up being spared, Mortal Level seems to have a lot to do with the Supreme Kai and GoD's duty of cultivating and creating productive lifeforms and destroying harmful and disruptive ones to the point where this balance is self sustaining. That's why Universe 9 ranks so low being basically a giant battlefield, Universe 7 being under the iron fist of a self-proclaimed Emperor for ages(and having an inexperienced Kai and a lazy trigger-happy GoD), Universe 6 being a corrupt war-filled universe, etc. I just think humans dealing with ki in public would boost Tien's and Roshi's schools popularity, maybe allowing them to train more, at best.
So it kinda becomes MHA in a way...

You gotta remember that that hatred isn't directed at Gohan because of who he is, but what he's done.
That is to say, ruined her father's entire life and driven her family into socio-economic ruin.
Would be interesting to see her seek out someone to train under once she realises how outclassed she is by Gohan though. Wonder if she'd end up studying under a certain retired turtle hermit...
I'd more likely see Videl being upset at her own father after he's exposed as a fraud and kinda becoming more of a rebellious punk. She'd likely commit small crimes, which would result in her meeting with the Great Saiyaman, and their relationship would grow as he empathizes with her situation, despite her initially hating him.

To be slightly meta, would Toriyama even bother creating Videl or continue using Mr. Satan if Gohan was shown to be the victor of the Cell Games? Most if not all of these what ifs involve Toriyama continuing the story as it happened and bringing forth the same characters.

Android 18 becomes the 25th World Martial Arts Champion? I like this scenario 😂 Honestly Android 18 winning the tournament could have been mentioned more upon imo... Sure Gohan will still be the savior of the world but Android 18 would become the Worlds Martial Arts Champion which would be an incredible title of her own which would mean that basically every relevant family in the Dragon Ball series would be rich... apart from the Satan's. Android 18/Krillin/Marron would have fame and fortune from Martial Art Championships. the "Son" family would be rich from Gohan being the savior and Vegeta/Bulma... well that one is obvious
However, there is the concept of the "paper champion", which is what Satan actually is in the main timeline. However, here everyone would know 18 won because Gohan left.
Just imagine the next tournament.
Krillin and 18, meeting up in Finals (since the rest more or less had lost interest in tournaments) and it becoming some sort of yearly game between them.

Gohan was practically home schooled by ChiChi and only went to High School at the start of the Majin Buu Saga so Gohan and Videl meeting in School is impossible...
How much would really change. Maybe, he would teach her how to fight better and she wouldn't have been screwed over by Spopovich but beyond that.... realistically, what difference would she have made to the story as a whole.
videl has a sense of justice, if she witnessed the cell games but didn't get to talk to gohan much she would ether not stand for her father declaring that he was the one who beat cell or she would be very bitter towards him for lying. in the second case she would likely seek out gohan soon after the cell games.
What if Krillin killed Freeza? Instead of cutting of his tail he got his head.
Dude that sounds pretty damn good but imagine the consequences. Goku would not have transformed so by the time the androids came along it might make the future trunks timeline worse plus Frieza doesn't kill vegeta so he wouldn't have his pride crushed since goku never goes super sayain so due to all that pride he may never gave got with bulma plus namek wouldn't explode so goku would go home with everyone so when metal frieza (who is stronger then regular frieza) comes to earth he would kill everyone plus vegeta would not have gone to earth with everyone else so no trunks, and with no trunks killing meta frezia everyone is boned

Shaheryar Mozaffer I don’t think this would’ve happened because though hercule was popular, he wasn’t nearly as popular or rich before the cell games so I think she would’ve been humbled by the experience. The only reason she even targeted gohan was because she was selfish and wanted all the attention of being a hero to herself.

As much as I like Gohan and him finally having the torch passed to him, Hercule and Videl would get shafted way too much, Majin Buu wouldn't become an ally and Uub wouldn't even exist as well as Pan. Maybe it would have been for the best for Hercule to take the glory, but he could have helped Gohan finacially after the defeat of Cell like he did for Goku in Super. Heck, maybe Gohan and Videl could have met sooner and she could have been stronger for the Spopovich match if Gohan trained her more.
Honestly I like this scenario: it would finally give Gohan the place he deserves, instead of pushing it to the sideline and having him accomplishing nothing in terms of fights after Cell.
As for the Satans going bankrupt ... well, who cares. I mean, both Hercule and Videl had a really nice character development during the Buu arc, but at the very beginning they were one a fraud and the other a rather spoilt brat.

Toryama really wants to keep trying to pull the series back to the original concept, I just wish he would stop sonce it's mever going to work. It's too late now.

I mean, Chichi wanted Gohan to be a scholar because she saw from Goku that there was no money in being a good fighter. If Gohan's fame brought in the cash, how much would she even care about his education? I mean, he'd keep it up, sure, but there would be no stopping him from training - quite the opposite. So at Chichi's urging, Gohan continues to fight and become stronger - maybe we never see such a lull in the World Tournaments either. This one has crazy implications to Gohan's future stregth as well. He contines as a famous fighter after graduating - hell, by the time Beerus shows up, maybe there will be a different Saiyan God waiting for him.
And as others have said, I don't see why Videl wouldn't still mary Gohan eventually. She could respect him surely, and she's not so shallow as to hate him because "he made us poor". If anything, less money in the family could have made Hercule a much better person, and a better father.
Also-also, if Gohan hadn't bitched out of his training, Vegeta would have had someone worthy of fighting (and if there were tournaments, Gohan wouldn't have had a lot of choice but to fight him). Without that "no one to fight, Goku got stronger in the otherworld" we may not have seen Maijin Vegeta or the ressurection of Buu at all. But then no Ulimate Gohan? Who knows? Even so, this one had so many more interesting possibilities that could have been covered.
It can be easy to forget that at one point Chi-Chi was the strongest woman on earth. Hell, when she actually trains Goten on how to fight, its so hardcore he actually becomes a super sayian. I'm pretty sure he even managed it before Trunks, who was training with Vegeta of all people.
Eeeeeengh, I don't really like the direction that Videl was taken. I think a more likely scenario would be that Satan would convince her that Gohan's power was a sham, and that she'd train her ass off to fight Gohan.
In the meantime she'd have probably still made anime for herself with her vigilante streak, which I think Gohan would appreciate as it would take some of the public eye off him.
From there Gohan would eventually Saiyaman it up because there's no way we're changing that, and the events of the Videl/Saiyaman rivalry would be a little bit more intense and violent. Here Videl was single-handedly saving her family name when some jaggof in a cape comes in to usurp her.
Given that she had no reason to be curious about Gohan instead of just unabashedly hating him, I don't think she'd so easily figure him out as Saiyaman. INSTEAD I think it would go that after doing the vigilante thing long enough Videl would feel confident she could dominate Gohan and his "sham power", leading to her challenging him somewhat publicly to defend his title as the world's strongest.

I can see this happening. I mean, even in canon she attacked Saiyaman, regardless of how quick and ineffective it really was.

I also feel like in this scenario, Gohan would let Videl beat him to get the public eye off himself. Which could be interesting because I feel like Videl would realize Gohan let her win somehow. Maybe something about Martial Artists knowing when their opponents are holding back.

I think this scenario can also happen Videl will go out on a journey to train and finally restore her father's honor or something like that where she will meet all the previous martial artist from the original series and train with them and other members of the z fighters and after the seven years timeskip she returns back to her home and tells gohan he must fight in the tournament or he will expose that he is the great Saiyaman. In tournament she easily defeats that Majin guy. She leaves with the z fighters to fight babaidi and his henchmen and this time she is actually strong and fast enough to go with Gohan. Shin takes her and Gohan to train in his planet cause he believes they both have potential to beat buu and they start bonding
I feel like Chi Chi would protect Gohan from the media at first. At least long enough to let him mourn Goku. She would also be grieving and maybe take it out on the reporters.
What if Krillin was a Saiyan?
Gir like trunks said he'd be unstoppable. Like super saiyan blue before the frieza saga. However the krillin owned counter would still exist.

I agree with everything, even Videl being bitter at first, HOWEVER, she never bought into her father's whole "HERO OF EARTH!" thing, so as soon as she actually witnessed firsthand that Gohan wasn't trying to be a hero, but rather, he really wanted to help others and keep them protected, protect the Earth, yadda yadda, I think she would've become an ally of his.
Maybe not for a bit, but eventually they'd have fallen in love with each other, who knows.
Anyways, this was a really interesting scenario, Masako. Keep up the good work!

A bunch of more things would have happened:
1) Vegeta, no longer seeing Gohan as having wasted his potential and no longer with a rival, would instead be pretty hard on his own son, Trunks, in order to push him to be better than Carrot Cake's son. As a result, the "friendship" between Goten and Trunks may not be as big, and Trunks would constantly "have" to try and outperform both the Go-Bros.
2) Chi-Chi would finally have a peace of mind, believing Gohan to be more of a man than his own father.
3) Videl would no longer know how to fly or use her Ki.
4) Gohan might essentially get drunk with power and fame, and let the arrogance of it all go to his head. He may actually become "worse" than Mr Satan (and not really in an "endearing" way, but not necessarily in a Zamasu way either).
5) Mr Satan might actually become humble and a hard-worker, either in martial arts or any other occupation. He could even work for Capsule Corps, believing it pays more (even if it's grunt work, rather than research), or he could request Gohan or any other Z-warrior to help train him and make him (or his daughter) stronger.
6) If the former is the case, then maybe he actually talks to his daughter about this (and her own resentment) of how he has come to terms with himself, essentially sorting himself out, and that he can't fault anyone for their situation other than himself. He might even try to get Videl to see it that way, and unlike the original where she doesn't respect her father that much, she might actually start to see him in a different light (despite still holding resentment towards Gohan).
Maybe then she agrees to swallow her pride and, just as before, train with Gohan and Goten?

Instead, Gohan would probably fear his own fame and power, he pretty much has so much attention and He's not exactly a "People Person" but he doesn't want to disappoint either.

Then Universe 6 and 7 would trade Earths - but as a parting gift Champa would probably restore the former U6 Earth.
Which then means that the Future Trunks arc wouldn't have been able to happen, resulting in Future U7 being destroyed by Zamasu. More on this later. Instead, we probably get a U6 Saiyans arc. This likely also results in more chances for interaction between Vegeta and Cabba, and between Goku and Hit. Plus, Goku likely meets Califla and Kale a lot earlier. This being said, I do believe the Goku vs Main Timeline Zamasu fight still happens.
Next up is the Universal Survival arc. We basically get a much stronger U6 team made up of the strongest elements of both the current U6 and U7 teams minus Frieza, and Beerus likely has to scrap together a team made up of the remnants of Frieza's empire. Frieza would likely still show up on the U7 team simply because of Beerus needing someone who can take on the former U7 saiyans. Also, U10 would be suspiciously absent from the tournament.
Remember when I said there would be more on the Zamasu arc? Well, after a time skip, Future Zamasu shows up... AND Main Timeline Zamasu steals Goku's body. HOWEVER, in this timeline we have a larger number of strong warriors to help stop Zamasu and Goku Black. Unfortunately, though, due to the fact that Zamasu killed Super Shenron AND the creators of the Super Dragon Balls, we have a problem. Shenron isn't powerful enough to give Goku his body back, so we need to get Zeno involved. And this is the point where the variables become too numerous to predict any further.
But that's my take on it. I'd love to see MasakoX analyze this.

I think videl being attracted to gohan would have made an interesting debacle for videl to overcome her animosity. Still would have liked to see their relationship develop into something like we got in the original anime. To your point about videl being the most furious after gohan defeated majin buu, I think by this time videl still would have come around after witnessing just how powerless her human father was on multiple occasions and how truly powerful gohan and the other z fighters are. Prompting a decision to trust herself and follow her heart and not the family grudge.

In fact, people would probably pour over the footage a lot more to try and figure out who he is, people would recognize Piccolo, but he lives on the lookout so no one would find him, Tien lives in the mountains somewhere, I don't believe Yamcha would be recognized (he's not a famous baseball player yet) and Krillin lives on an out of the way island with Roshi, and Trunks is from the future
The only one people would be able to reasonably find would be Vegeta, as he would be seen hanging around Capsule Corp., and it's only a matter of time until someone realizes he's one of the people who destroyed East City (it was partially televised, at least in the anime) and that would cause a lot of problems for both him _and_ Bulma
In fact, a lot of people would probably forget about their new hero and focus more on why the daughter of the owner of the richest company on the planet is living with the alien that blew up and entire city

This DEFINITELY needs a second part to it. I feel as though Videl would essentially challenge Gohan repeatedly (Her unable to learn how to fly as they never developed that far, and their power differences being light-years apart) through media outlets, to which Gohan eventually has to accept from peer pressure, as he simply clarifies there's no reason, calling her out on her resentment of him for the events that damaged her family. Mr. Satan would only step in to stop his daughter, likely before completely leaving Gohan City (Satan City ain't happenin') with her pounding her fists into her father's back as he walks away. They'd have a long drive ahead. They'll survive, but he's nobody's hero anymore and he knows that.
The only thing he still has left is his daughter. Think about it; without his title, there's no media, but losing so easily, even IF he gets Runner-Up Money? The people would shun him indefinitely. And when you're "The world's hero"... Well... I'm interested in knowing if MasakoX would find a place for him somewhere. Heck, ANYWHERE! Only place I can think of is Gohan's home... but that's gonna be... well... yeah.
Masako, I love your what if's, but this time, i feel things just don't work out, and this has to do with the timeskip after Gohan blasts Cell:
1. As Earth's champion, Gohan would be constantly fighting through the years, getting much stronger, training with Vegeta (as the only other saiyan alive, ((and maybe with Goku ressurected as "Earths Champions Dad") ). They would constantly pushing each other throughout 7 years.
2. As a consequence of this (not slacking, but hard training), as soon as Gohan comes to Videls aid, the assault on him would fail, as Gohan would be simply too strong. Spopovich and Yamu would be defeated immediatly.
Shin and Kibito would observe this, revealing themselves and the whole Babidi-stuff.
This would would lead to a quick visit to Babidis ship.
3. Fast forward, Majin Vegeta would probably not happen.
Having Gohan as a replacement rival instead of missing Goku for spoken 7 years, Vegeta (also drastically beeing stronger then in the normal storyline), would be calmer, not having that desire to be evil again, as he would be able to constantly vent all the rage and pride into the training with Gohan.
4. This means: No Majin Vegeta vs. Goku fight, which means, Boo without the energy of that fight, and without Gohans energy (look at point 2), would be far from beeing able to ressourect.
Babidi would be Killed of, Boo's egg either destroyed or sealed away forever by the Kaioshins.
5. DBZ ends. Hello DB Super ;)
the thing about point 2 is no one knew where the ship was (it was buried remember) so if Gohan did fend off the 2 dimwits there's no possible way to find it (they followed those 2 to it also remember)

Wait, why would Videl be at the tournament? She only got trained because her father was "Earth's hero" and she wanted to outshine him. Also she was trained by someone Mr. Satan hired. She would not have as good of skills if she went to a public dojo. She knew how strong Gohan was, so even if she was as strong as normal timeline Videl, she would still be outclassed by Gohan and about half of the people entering the tournament

ChaddyFantome Seeing as how Gohan seems to be hooking up with Erasa in this scenario, they could always have their baby (if they actually have one) take part in the Super Saiyan God ritual. If not, then maybe Tarble? He was mentioned in Battle of Gods, so maybe they could wish him to Earth so he could help them out.
The problem here would be Goku's absence. If he's going to stay dead, then obviously either Gohan or Vegeta would have to fight Beerus. However, even if Tarble shows up, what if Gohan and Erasa don't stay together? Then there would only be five Saiyans on Earth, and Goku already used his one day return to take part in the tournament. Tarble does have a wife, but as far as we know, they don't have kids, so that's not an option.
I think there are 2 possibilities:
1. Use their second wish (the first one being to bring Tarble over) to go to New Namek and use those Dragon Balls to revive Goku.
2. The more likely possibility, knowing how impatient Beerus is. Have Elder Kai give his life force to Goku like in the manga and anime, then have Goku use Instant Transmission to return to Earth.
Either that or Toriyama would just make the ritual take one sayain less. Instead of requiring a total of 6, he could just rewrite it to say it requires 5. Kind of a lazy thing to do, yes, but it's something he would totally do, let's be real here.

She even likely would have made a similar deal to the original (ie. teaching her to fly/ use ki), possibly even asking him to train her to become stronger, and from there, they could have grown closer leading up to the tournament.
Shenro I agree as well. DBZ already had videl mention that she had a feeling it was Gohan that defeated cell. Plus Gohan is definitely Videls type since she immediately cut her hair off after he mentioned he likes it short. And that's while only knowing him for like a week. Plus DB Super mentioned the Saiyan's attraction to hot headed women, so Gohan would probably still end up with her somehow.

I really enjoy watching your What-If's. Honestly, it sounds like Videl's hatred towards Gohan would rival Vegeta's towards Goku at any point in the show. Now, the power gap of course between Gohan and Videl is far greater than Goku and Vegeta, but with Videl not being able to directly challenge Gohan...things do have the potential I think to be fairly interesting down the road.
Videl would probably do anything she could to get back at Gohan, including training to get stronger. I have serious doubts that she could ever convince the likes of Vegeta or even Goku to train her Maybe she could somehow cheat with a Dragonball wish? I do think that she has the potential to be a fairly significant villain.

I'm really not sure about the part with Videl. Sure, at the beginning, she might be bitter as heck about Gohan. But she's no Vegetta and wouldn't let her pride overcome her kindness. Even in a scenario when she finds out about Gohan's identity as Sayaman, she wouldn't waste the opportunity just for revenge. She would actually use this information to blackmail Gohan and take out her revenge this way AND financially support her and her father. After all, she's a clever girl and would use her connection to her benefit. And Gohan wouldn't be that opposed since I don't think money was ever important to him. So it's more likely he complies just to keep is Sayaman-Secret. And with her Blackmailing Gohan, they have a much better chance to know each other and Gohan might still even teach her how to fly (After all, Gohan is still a good boy. Always). This way, she would be still able to get to know the Son-Family.
She would still enter the Tournament to not only win the prize-money but also to prove that she's much stronger than Gohan, who took away everything she and her family had. That would be her main reason to enter the Tournament to publicly humiliate Gohan. And after she gets unfairly beaten up by Spopovich and rescued by Gohan, she would at this point realize that Gohan is really a kind man and that he really *is* the Hero of earth, with his victory over Cell totally deserved. And after that, she would get a much better understanding of Gohan as a person. And from there on, a real, healthy relationship between those two can develop (and Videl might end up as Sayaman II after all).
I agree that she would really hate Gohan at the beginning, but giving her such an over-the-top bitter personality doesn't really fit how she was portrayed in the TV-show or manga. She takes advantage of the situation to her benefit and she's open-minded when someone tells her the truth. And she would still end up with Gohan as the typical "They hate him, oh now he loves him"-trope. It's at least in my opinion more likely than with Erasa. Maybe I just don't want to see Pan "unhappen" :P

I love Satan family losing all the glory etc, Videl later in DB didn't matter at all anyways and those short hairs of her, I was waiting for something like this to happen in DB series from ages, as this would be justice.

malawiedzma Actually, it wouldn't count as he wasn't revived by the earth dragon balls before the time. He was resurrected by the Namek dragon balls. The rule with the earth dragon balls is the certain dragon can wish a person alive once. If he was resurrected with a different dragon then shenron would be able to wish him back
He was revived by the Earth Dragon Balls in the Namek arc, look it up. The Namekian balls were used to transport everyone to Earth. And in the canon Buu arc Vegeta also doesn't get revived by the wish to Shenron in the middle of the arc.
Also, the question of whether or not Shenron can actually revive people that have been revived before by Porunga but not Shenron has never been tested before, it could go either way. In the manga at the Cell Games Gohan says that Trunks is the only one there apart from himself that could be wished back, and Tenshinhan, Yamcha, and Piccolo were only revived by Porunga at that point.

Also instead of teaching videl how to fight gohan might've gotten a whole dojo, apprentices would seek him out. This means gohans always training he might even be strong enough to have taken down golden freiza

Also, this is just my opinion, but if you do continue it I definitely think there is potential to have Videl become Gohan’s arch nemesis and considering Toriyama was known for plot convenience he would have given her a necessary power boost. I don't think it would make too much of a difference. saiyans are still stronger then humans. grampa gohan would still die and goku would grow up alone and grow strong. he would quickly make up the difference with training from master roshi

Irrelevant. If the Final Flash dealt *that* much damage to Cell from a mere 'Super Saiyan', it could have easily destroyed him if Vegeta's aim wasn't so crummy. Weaker character is neatly sidestepped by long attack charge-up. Famous example: Piccolo's double kill on Raditz and Goku.

LMAO you serious? How would that destroy Cell? Goku's full power Kame-Hame-Ha which was WAY stronger didn't kill Cell what makes you think that the vastly inferior Final Flash would have done the job? You Vegeta fanboys are just seriously ridiculous....
First off: I'm a Gohan fan, I couldn't care less about The Prince.
Second off: By that logic, Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon shouldn't have even scratched Raditz, let alone kill both him and Goku. Piccolo was less than half Raditz's power to begin with, and the Namekian was missing an arm at the time that he fired it.
Third off: Goku's aim was also terrible, only engulfing the top half of Cell. We know that, because of his regeneration, you need to destroy all of him to have a 'lethal' attack actually _be_ lethal. So yes, either Goku or Vegeta could have killed Cell, if they had actually aimed the attacks correctly. SSJ2 likely wouldn't have been necessary, and until Cell's post-explosion power boost, it *wasn't* necessary just by the way Gohan was literally trashing Cell up and down the battlefield.
Vegeta's Final Flash incinerated Cell's right shoulder and much of his right-side torso. Again, if Vegeta had aimed correctly, Cell would be dust on the wind. Instead, he didn't aim at all, infuriated as he was. The blast could be seen continuing on to the inky void of space, like Goku's and Gohan's Kamehameha waves in their fights with Cell. It was on-par with it at the very least.

2. No. When Piccolo charged the Makankosappo he actually went beyond Raditz's power level. Also Raditz didn't have regen like Cell did.
3. Actually you need to destroy the special brain tissue which contains Cell's core chip. But we have no idea where it is. With that said only something as strong as Cell can destroy that so Vegeta still couldn't do that.
4. No it wasn't... Gohan could have literally killed him in seconds. But we all know how Gohan is when he get's arrogant.
5. It wasn't. Size DOESN'T matter. Remember Freeza's Death Ball which destroyed Planet Vegeta? By the Cell saga a base Saiyan could do the same with a much smaller attack. It's about quality not quantity.
Sorry for assuming things. Sometimes it's hard to tell genuine fans from fanboys. I understand your logic but you are wrong here for the reasons I mentioned earlier.

I don't get how gohan does not hate hercule in the main timeline. Hercule took all the credit while gohan family was poor and struggling, he had to become the man of the house and act as a father figure to goten because his father died sacrificing himself. His fathers sacrifice became unnoticed to a guy that completely took all the credit. Shows how much of a good person gohan is to not hold a grudge to hercule and actually befriend and later marry videl.
That doesn't take into account one minor detail. Gohan would've been stronger in this scenario than he was in the original. I'd say that being the world's champ would make chi chi give him more of a leeway to train if not make her force him to do so. He'd probably be at around the same level he was when he fought cell, if not a bit stronger. This would mean than his fight against dabura wouldn't last nearly as long. Which would mean that there would lessen the possibility of geets getting his brainwashed (not completely eliminate it though, seeing that he kinda might have wanted to get brainwashed). Which in turn would've meant that buu wouldn't have been resurrected in the first place.
Here's a different kinda of what if for you to think about. A more of a gag than your usual ones. Apparently, a few training sessions with chi chi was enough to get Goten to super sayian, you think if she trained Gohan instead of having Goku and Piccolo train him for the three years before the androids arrived he would've went super sayian too?
