Burnley relegated from Premier League after six seasons

Burnley's six-season stay in the Premier League came to an end as Newcastle's 2-1 victory at Turf Moor condemned the Clarets to relegation and Championship football next season.
A win for Burnley would have confirmed their top-flight status at the expense of Leeds United, irrespective of their final-day result at Brentford, but a catastrophic start left the Clarets with too much ground to make up.

So many similarities with the 2018-2019 season:
-League table: the exact same top 6 (Tottenham getting 71 points) and Crystal Palace finishing 12th
    - Several golden boot winners (including Salah)
    - Title race scenario: Liverpool playing at home against Wolves and winning by 2 goal difference. Man City losing at the beginning but manage to win at the end and therefore win the League by 1 point

Not my family or my career or owt like that, just have to be sure I make the chairman a good wad of cash they can spend on a new yacht." Think about what you're saying mate 👍

Even before their accounts were published in February, the FA made it clear that if they were in breach, the penalty would be applied to the start of next season in line with Premier League rules. The reason it won't happen is because Everton would be able to lawyer up and cite at least six to eight other cases of potential false accounting by other clubs dating back twenty years that weren't similarly punished. The moment the FA didn't sanction West Ham when Sheffield United lawyered up all those years ago, the die was cast that the rules were there to be bent.

Burnley have lingered in or around the bottom 3 all season, whilst it was not certain they would go down today, given Leeds awful goal difference and playing away at Brentford, it's not actually that much of a surprised, they were poor today in the first half. Whilst it's joy unconfined at Leeds, this escape shouldn't hide the fact they have major problems and next season will be another struggle if they don't sort them out. Whether Ted Lasso is the answer, I am not sure.
