Free pet food is the best!! I used to work evenings at a store next door to a pet food store. One night I spent an hour after work getting free dog and cat food out of their dumpster! Can't believe how much I packed into a dodge shadow!

When I was a manager at a family dollar our district manager insisted I slash all food, houseware and clothes. I never did and had my employees use white chalk on housewares and all edible food needle stacked in boxes. My employees needed things as well. I was in charge of making people leave the dumpster, but never did and they knew it. Waste is a sin to me! Good job guys. 😃
Fair play to you. In ireland the places that fed poor people used to call in just before we closed to collect what was coming up to sell by, dates fresh baked bread ect. The fresh cakes or cookies went to the people who were organising fundraising events or other events.

I got my puppy back in May and I haven’t bought dog food in 2 months or cat litter in months since I started dumpster diving. It saves a ton of money! Not to mention all the bags of dog food I’ve donated because it was A LOT!

Howdy y'all! Guess where I'm going tomorrow? The DOG SHOW in Houston with over 400 exhibits and rescue groups. We go every year and absolutely LOVE it!! We always come home with treats, toys, and more for my 2 pittie babies. Glad you got your dog food fix. You'll have happy doggies for sure!!

Furminators are a good thing. My aunt used to vacuum the dog to get the fur off. Dog loved it.
I tried the vacuum with Remi, it did not work but she loved it too haha

When I was homeless, I had a beautiful mix breed dog that also had to eat but if I didn't have food for him, I'd make sure to feed him what I was eating, just to make sure he was fed. Of course I made sure not to feed him anything dangerous. One day I was dumpster diving for food and came across a HUGE dumpster FULL of dog and cat food. Still in the bags, not opened or destroyed. I made sure to get ALL the food and I distributed it to anyone who needed it. I felt so blessed that day. I COMPLETELY understand why Stacy gets so excited. Unfortunately I don't have him anymore but he was the best fur baby. I miss him.

@@curbsidejunkies Oh im so sorry. After all that work, darn it. I think I may have to end up getting one of those shade cloths you can buy for the garden. Last year quite a few of my tomatoes ended up getting sun scald.

Remember to bring reusable shopping bags when you go dumpster diving. Great for opened bags of dog food also bring duct tape,masking tape or packaging tape on a dispenser . This will prevent spillage I your truck . Be safe.
