Actor Jason Dors Lake, who was one of the English actress' three sons, was known for his work on The Blonde Bombshell, Just William and Into the Labyrinth.
He later acquired the rights to his mother’s estate and created a small business selling Diana Dors merchandise to her many loyal fans.
Facebook group Diana Dors: The Legacy announced the death this morning: "Good morning, it saddens me to inform you of the passing of Diana's youngest son, Jason Dors Lake at the age of 50.
"Please join me in offering condolences, thoughts and prayers to Jason's loved ones and close friends at this time."
It is not known how he died but family and friends are said to be shocked at his sudden death.
Jason was the youngest child of English film actress and singer Diana, who died in 1984.
His father was actor Alan Lake who married Diana in 1968 and was her husband until her death.
Jason, who lived in Kent for years before moving into a £1 million home in Notting Hill, leaves behind one daughter, Ruby.
Jason was open about his struggles with alcoholism. Tragically after witnessing the Grenfell Tower disaster two years ago the son of the British Marilyn Monroe said he struggled to remain sober.
Diana had two other sons from her second marriage, who lived with their father Richard Dawson.
Jason wrote a book about his mother in 2013, where he detailed his unusual upbringing.
One section read: "At the tender age of five, Jason’s nursery education was supplemented by an introduction to the joys of recreational drugs."
The book went on to relate how Jason then became accustomed to cannabis by the age of 11 as his alcoholic father, who Niema said seemed to see Jason more 'as his buddy than his son', decided it was 'better he does it among friends than strangers'.
Despite the unusual upbringing, Jason always said he happy childhood memories of his time at Orchard Manor and he never doubted the love his doting mother and father.
But it was the death of his mother aged 14 which sent him off the rails as he moved to the US to live with his half-brothers.
He returned to the UK in 2013 and last reports showed Jason had got his life back on track.
Mum Diana was born Diana Fluck on October 23 1932 at The Haven Nursing Home in Swindon.
The blond bombshell took on her grandmother’s surname of Dors before enjoying a successful film career on both sides of the Atlantic.
After appearing in more than 60 films and enjoying fame and fortune as Britain’s version of Marilyn Monroe, Diana died of ovarian cancer at the age of 52.

Its sad to think he is no longer with us. He looked very vulnerable and had issues that unfortunately he was unable to address. Rest in Peace Jason hope you are with Diana and Alan x
If you have read Diana's bio, 'Behind Closed Dors' his childhood was very sad. He said in interviews that her husband Alan Lake was violent to her when drunk & Jason was exposed to their notorious sex parties from his mid teens. Comedian Bob Monkhouse also mentions the parties & one way mirrors in his memoirs.
Poor Jason, I wish things had turned out different for him, for Diana and Alan too. Such a tragic story all round
How terribly sad. The tragedy of all three of them is absolutely heart-rending.
Not the Jason i knew in the 90's. So sad... and only yesterday, was made aware of his tragic death.
Back in the day, he was such a cool mate to hang out with and get to know. Some of the best years of my life were spent in the company of this guy and others from the Goa and Ladbroke Grove party people.
Mate, i hope youve found peace, wherever you are.
And in interviews I've seen from the 90's, he came across as intelligent and insightful. Even when talking about his father's alcoholism. It's sad to see that he picked up that habit.
@@4seeableTV pretty inevitable when you consider the life he grew up around and the role models he was compelled to adopt. Having a life of privilege and great expectation, then having that rug pulled so abruptly out from under a fourteen year olds feet as a consequence of losing both parents within a space of a year, dealing with his dads suicide alone would be enough for anyone to struggle emotionally in later life.
My life hasnt been a bed of roses, but ive never envied his.
I met. Him toi few years back on Facebook through me like his mom what happened this is very upsetting makes me sad so sad I have this picture of this cute cute boy living with his dad after the passing of his beloved mom who shot herself next door to him how selfish was that I wim' never understand. Alcoholism is tragic I hope he reunites with his parents loved you Jason and your mom rest in peace my dear ✌️😭🙏💐
@@nataliemeenakshithegreat7780 so sad rip jason
@@4seeableTVit’s not a habit it’s actually a disease addiction which runs in families! Also people who go through childhood trauma are prone to drug, sex and alcohol addiction.
he looks such a happy soul . . . . he clearly meant well . . .
This is unbelievably sad to see. Bless poor Jason. RIP x
They are all together now. ❤️
Looks very like his handsome dad, but you can tell he was on some serious meds here. Bless him. RIP
If you call alcohol 'meds'! Poor guy was clearly an alcoholic and watching this painful footage it's not too surprising he died less than 3 years later. I don't think he ever got over the loss of his mother when he was 14, Diana Dors' death from cancer at 52 was a tragedy for so many people - and none more than her youngest son Jason.
I hope he has been reunited with his legendary mother, she loved him very much and was worried about him on her deathbed. Her concern was sadly prophetic. RIP Jason
@@glamdolly30 Yeah I agree this is so sad to watch here, what happened to his parents at 14 obviously affected him so much throughout his adult life and turned to heavy drinking and drugs as a result. Losing your mom to cancer then losing your dad to suicide just months later is too unbearable for a 14 year old to go through. I agree that it’s not surprising that he died just a couple years after this since he clearly was in a troubled state here. RIP to him. I really hope he’s in a better place now reunited with his mom and dad.
The older he got he looked so much like his father
Bless his heart, he went through so much. Rip❤️
Jason at 14could have passed for my daughter's brother so cute you know these blue eyes wide open filled with innocence lost the sadness 9f losing it all overnight it was a 14 year old boy in an adult body tenderness tears sadness emotions loneliness I never met him physically just on Facebook few chats yet iam telling you his 14 years ol MD boy made me sad on his mother's show
Obviously a good and kind man, but also this is sad and painful to watch. RIP Jason
@stephen morris What makes you say that? Assuming you knew him?
@stephen morris 40 years is a long time to harbour so much resentment. Do yourself a favour and give it up moosh
Jason was very charismatic, I meet him several times and he was so lovely and friendly, very handsome too
May He Rest In ☮️ Peace
its so sad - he was clearly smashed on the booze. Its a shame, poor guy.
Hes up in heaven now with his mom & dad now RIP
I always hoped i would one day bump into Jason, considering his Mother was a mega star he seemed very down to earth, fasinating and approachable, his past at times was unfortuneatly a very sad one, RIP Jason God bless you.
He seemed a really nice man at heart
How sad 😞
Image of his father. He's was so vulnerable.
Poor bloke.
wow , what a beautiful man , so very sad :(
So sad
Used to seeing a lot around Portobello and it just used to make me sad to see how wasted he used to be he was a lovely person rest in peace Jason
In the 90's?
He is so unwell and drunk...its so sad the way he died.😢
I feel sorry for him and I'll pray for his soul
So very sad as he knew so many stories about his late and famous mother. I recently bought at auction his mothers leopard fur coat that had originally been sold at Sotheby's back in 1985 , a sale of his parents personal effects after his fathers suicide.
hello william do you have any other items you would want to sell and i often wonder what happened to her belongings which was bought by raymond sanderson of whitley bay hope to hear soon yours paul
Very sad that such items fell into the hands of strangers after Diana and her husband Alan Lake's death. They had outstanding tax bills I believe, so the family home and all their personal effects were auctioned off to pay them. Many years later, Jason managed to buy his mother's leopard print chaise longue when it came up at auction, which had famously pride of place beside her home swimming pool.
What good did Diana's fame do Jason? It was scant comfort without her. I don't think he ever got over losing her when he was just 14. On her deathbed Diana asked her husband Alan to take care of him - her concern for Jason's welfare was sadly prophetic. Alan fell to pieces without Diana and failed to honour her request. He killed himself in Jason's bedroom, shooting himself in the mouth - a terrible dereliction of duty to his only child. He was mad with grief and had hit the bottle with a vengeance.
It's very sad to see history repeating here, with Jason's alcoholism.
If only Alan could have got his act together for his son's sake, and been a loving and supportive father to him. Perhaps Jason would have turned out differently. To be orphaned as he was by 15 and have no close family in England to turn to, must have been terrible for him. He was sent to LA to live with one of his half brothers (Diana had two older sons with comedian Dickie Dawson), but the relationship broke down and Jason ultimately returned to the UK alone.
He seemed to drift through life without ever putting down roots, creating a family of his own or achieving an identity beyond being the son of famous parents.
@@glamdolly30 Very well said. Mx
may I add, I was in the belguim bar in ramsgate and someone was tinkling the ivories and it was non other than Jason, that was my first and last ever meeting of him. He seemed happy because he was doing what he loved most playing songs from the musicals and I being a singer should have joined him but my images of that small but brief meeting was a happy one. He could really play that piano, I could too but not as well as him and he was almost the same age as me.
I then a few years later met the lovely Mandy Winters and she had a secret under wraps which was to do a musical about Jason's mother the lovely and most beautiful woman Diana Dors.
So for me you will be remembered for your happy times in the belguim bar, he was lost then and tipsy but that did not bother me at all! Like him I lived with an alcoholic father then partner but I vowed to stay off the stuff ! You know what though it has taught me to love people no matter what and one thing Jason ...if you are reading this, we will never ever forget you! You were playing phantom of the opera ....a favourite of mine just remember this you will always be many many people's favourite xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx rip
Angels have you now, I am sure you are having a ball with you mother and father RIP all our love from everyone that has ever met you
lovely post.
stephen morris he wasn’t actually!
@@rubylake334 take no notice, Ruby, some horrible people in this world.
@@rubylake334 Sorry you had to read an ignorant comment by a cretin who never even met your father. I like to remember your dad as he was in an interview he gave for The One Show, around 10 years ago. He spoke very eloquently about his parents. You've probably seen it, but here is the link: czcams.com/video/kHfxV84X8Ao/video.html
He was obviously living in Kent by the sea at this time, and seemed happy there. It was clearly a special place for him, and so will be a special place for you. You have a wonderful family heritage to be proud of, and I'm sure you are. God bless. X
Lovely tribute. Mx
with a mother that died when he was 14 and his father shooting himself in the same room a few weeks later no wonder he turned to the evil alcohol ....Jason you were loved by many go and have a party with Diana and your father xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Oh how sad...to be alone at 14 and deal with all that..he was obviously a nice bloke from the comments..he looks like has carried a weight all his adult life...
Childhood can mess people lives up
Big time
Cosseted from birth, exposed to adult behaviour far too young and none of it he could process well. Then to top it off, his beautiful mother dying and his father shooting himself. Far too much to take on emotionally. He seemed to have nowhere to go or nobody to properly talk to, to share his emotions, to set the bad ones free, apart from using drugs. In this clip he had obviously taken something to cope with yet another emotional event. Poor man, what a troubled life he has led. I hope he is now reunited with his mother and father.
The little Darling is Stoned isn't he?
Did his half brother came from Los Angeles
What happened to Jason,
I met him and his mum and Alan Lake years ago in Sunningdale at there home
He was never like that , 😢 he was gobby and a right little shit lol , RIP JASON X
Omg what happened to Jason poor baby tonmeninwil' always remember Jason a. Little boy after losing his mom he was lost he was the cutest boy 😭😭😭😭😭😭what happened to him please anyone could tell. Me
I think he has taken to the drink. After seeing his mum and dad die so sad as he mulled himself as well. Could not be without them. Vanya con dios Jason
I live just down the street my landlord in video
The only good thing about this was the pink convertible at the end.
Diana dropped name fluck as if her name up in lights and a blonde bombshell if the l fell she did not want to be known as Diana fxck so became dors my family all great up with her x
Bursting with bubbles, more like. Alcohol is such a waster!
Looks like he inherited his Dad's habit. Sad.
Sad. Interesting that probably 99 percent of Americans haven't even heard of Diana Dors. Whereas, Marilyn Monroe was famous internationally. Was Diana the UK's answer to Marilyn?
Oh yes she was ans very pretty sexy she had perfect golden ratio face à stunner who got her break in Hollywood
I think she was before Monroe
@@talcumpowder1000 Indeed, Diana had a few films under her belt before Marilyn became famous. I think she was age 14 in her first film.
@@mikehudson8884 Iinfuriating isn't it. Before and after Monroe. I think Dors' first film was around '46 and Monroe's was something like 49. In my opinion Dors was the better actress but Monroe appeared in better films. Either way, Monroe was the American Dors
Definitely drunk here. And so early in the day. It's a shame, because in decades past, he sounded so thoughtful and well spoken in interviews. What a waste of a good man.
His parents were obviously bad role models. I feel sorry for his daughter who had to take care of her drunk father.
It must have been embarrassing to be told he looked like his mother.
He’s drunk,!
Yeah we know
