  • Mozart Piano Concerto No27 in B-Flat Major KV595
    I. Allegro 00:00
    II. Larghetto 14:24
    III. Allegro 22:15
The Piano Concerto No. 27 in B♭ major, K. 595, is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's last piano concerto; it was first performed early in 1791, the year of his death.
Although all three movements are in a major key, minor keys are suggested, as is evident from the second theme of the first movement (in the dominant minor), as well as the presence of a remote minor key in the early development of that movement and of the tonic minor in the middle of the Larghetto.
Another interesting characteristic of the work is its rather strong thematic integration of the movements, which would become ever more important in the nineteenth century. The principal theme of the Larghetto, for instance, is revived as the second theme of the final movement (in measure 65). The principal theme for the finale was also used in Mozart's song "Sehnsucht nach dem Frühling" (also called "Komm, lieber Mai"), K. 596, which immediately follows this concerto in the Köchel catalogue.
Mozart wrote down his cadenzas for the first and third movements.

    Mercii BB

I usually feel with Ms. Berrut's interpretations that i am hearing the composer as if channeled, as my Indian music teacher would say, "without ego, no tricks". But then there is that wonderful warm tone that i associate with her playing, so i know its Ms. B and not an invisible being, but a human who likes single malt.. I did not truly appreciate Mozart, other than the obvious super compelling stuff like the requiem, until my 40's, when i asked my uncle, donny, a classical pianist, "what's the deal with mozart, what am i missing?" a man of few words, he just smiled, as if absorbing the deeper element of my question, or the best way to answer....(he was an analyst) next morning, as i was getting dressed upstairs i heard this exquisite piece being played on the piano downstairs. When i came down i asked him, "what was that beautiful piece, was it Schubert, it was so poignant." He answered with a big smile, "Mozart!".....That was the beginning for me. My friend Allen Pluth, who also died and also loved Mozart, would say, when mozart gets you, its like a laser beam to the heart. Like @19:45, above.

mozart's most elegant piano concerto....the larghetto/2nd movement seems to be a lyrical acceptance of his young life....and making peace with his coming death....beautifully at peace, well played here.

ooo, i left the you tube on by mistake, had been listeing to another Mozart on Ms. B's channel, with the Camerata Valois, and when i walked in the door this was on. What a pure delight....I have to work in the morning, i am really hungry, there is nothing in the house to cook, its Covid time in USA , the hospital ICU where I live have 0% beds available, should i risk going to the store, so many taks to take care, but none of that matters, there is the pianist whose music moves me making her way like a swan through Mozart's Larghetto, dear Mozart...i really fell in love with him after reading his letters and biography.....what a hard life, even as a lad, those endless cold bumpy drives by horse drawn coach from Salzburg thru Germany, to failure and death in Paris, and all for and endless reward of snuff boxes from cheapskate nobility...Our profit, but not pobre Wolfie's....

@@BeatriceBerrut I would totally agree, except that last night I listened to you playing Schubert's Sonata D894, which I totally loved. The andante especially is just utterly divine. I love both that one and this one.
