You know how sometimes you can just look at someone and know if you will like them before you even meet them. It was like that with you the first time I saw one of your videos. I don't know if it is your voice, cadence, or words but I really like your videos. It really helps that you do a good job of presenting your topic really well. Maybe it is because you are not yelling and telling us you are the best or cooking for 273 people. Whatever it is - keep doing it. Looking forward to your next one.
Thank you so much for the comment and kind words. I really appreciate it and I plan on continuing and hopefully improving. I'm really enjoying the live cooks, glad other people are as well.
Maybe a little bit of ginger and we would be set. I wonder if Uncle Roger would approve?
@@tyronewilson4102 I wonder what he would say too lol. I'd almost be scared for him to review it hahaha.
Ya know, I thought the exact same thing.
Agreed! After watching a lot of Johnnys videos I feel the same. He seems like a Cool cat!
This video just popped up on my feed two years after it was made. Great delivery, and the fried rice looks yummy! I have one small point after watching it: When I go to a Teppanyaki restaurant and watch the chefs make the fried rice, I get a thrill every time they add a big chunk of butter to the mix. And they usually do that two or three times. Butter gives it a silkiness and an added flavor that the oil just doesn't do. I'm going to make this recipe because it looks easy and tasty. But I will be adding a couple of big dollops of butter. Great job!
Tha is so much I'm glad you like the video and I appreciate you watching. That's a great point about the butter. Next time I'm going to add a lot more. Can't go wrong with more butter in a recipe!
The music makes it ! Griddle , beer, griddle . My wife thinks I'm obsessed with this thing!
Griddle, beer, repeat! I know the feeling my wife thinks the same hahaha.
My mind was just blown by you using the warming tray for a coffee mug. Never thought about it, but it's going to make cooking in Midwest winter even better.
Lol glad I could inspire you. The handle will get hot but I'm usually wearing gloves during my winter griddle cooks so it's no problem. Honestly griddling in Ohio during a 40 degree Sunday morning w so e coffee is one of my favorite things to do. Don't know why but it's just peaceful.
Starting a brewery in Illinois, and figuring out the food. Has a big flat top griddle. Enjoyed your video Johnny.
That's awesome Sean!!!!! That was a dream of mine at one point to open up a brewery. But the only problem is I don't know how to make food lol 😂. I worked in restaurants for 15 years as a cook, server, and manager. If you want any more ideas or recipes just shoot me an email and I'd be happy to share.

Hello I am from croton Ohio love your Chanel it’s because of you I bought a camp chef griddle
Hey how's it going neighbor! Thanks so much I'm glad you like the channel and I hope you like your griddle. My wife is from Sunberry I don't think that's too far away from you. Thanks so much for watching.
Your videos are an awesome vibe and your commentary is great, especially that part about your neighbor jogging lol 😂 suscribed!
Thank yo so much Geno I'm glad you like them and really appreciate you watching. Ya he keeps trying to throw it in my face that he's heatlhy but I got the griddle so I think I'm living a better life.
i loved the little coco puffs single bowls, when i was in the army and i saw those i had to get at least 2!
Those are the best! Thank you for your service.
Frosted Flakes, Capt. Crunch, Kellog's Corn Flakes, Raisin Bran
very good selections my friend.
Great job Johnny- I love your channel
Tha ks Ken! I appreciate you watching.
Watching from Hawaii
Thats awesome WIlliam!!!!! Thanks so much for watching and for commenting. I bet it's a lot nicer weather out there than it is in Ohio right now lol. I was griddling yesterday in 40 degrees.
Yum. Gonna try making hibachi today. Made my rice yesterday so it won’t get gummy. Love the music choice. And who doesn’t love Spidey? I agree with one of the other comments. You seem like a very likable person. My husband and I were binge watching your videos yesterday. He said I really like this guy. Was looking forward to the volcano. Final dish looked yummy.
Hey Lisa thanks so much for bunge watching my videos I really appreciate that. Glad you liked the music too I'm trying to keep it laid back and not too in your face. Sorry to disturb with the volcano fail lol, I still need some practice. I'm sure your hibachi is going to turn out amazing tonight, good luck!
@@JohnnyBrunet I just made rice for my cook tomorrow. Cheers.
@@lfmacklin1 awesome I hope it turns out great!
Well Lisa? Enquiring minds are dying to know how it turned out
That looks delicious, turned out nicely
You gonna make us some? What time should I be expected?
Sorry I missed your live hopefully I will b3 able to watch next time...keep them coming 👍
Thanks so much! I'm going to try to keep doing it if this weather cooperates. I always appreciate you watching.
I always feel that I should be at Benihana when I make fried rice. Thanks for the onion trick!
You're welcome Tony!
Not gone lie I was rooting for your volcano to pull thru 💯
Lol I appreciate the support. Next time I'll get it.
I LOVE rice! If I could only choose one carb for the rest of my life, it could easily be rice... or potatoes or bread 😂 Anyway, my problem is the wife only "allows" dark rice in our household. Obviously white rice is superior in my books but what can I do other that look for new wife 😂 Thanks Johnny for another entertaining video!
It'd be a good carb to eat for the rest of your life! I agree that white rice is better but it might be easier to make two batches of rice than to find a new wife 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for watching buddy.
Those eggs went a lot better than your recent hibachi video. LOL
I know! Lol. That's what I get for trying a different way.
o man i wish i would of got this live. nice job. i may get a pit boss now lol
Lol, ya I'll have to do another live cook sometime soon once the weather cooperates.
No... Special K with Red Berries, Cheerios, Raisin Bran, and Corn Flakes, LOL.
I enjoy your videos. My little Blackstone 17" with hood should arrive tomorrow. Fridge is full of veggies.
All great cereals! Thanks I appreciate you watching the videos and congratulations on the new griddle.
Lesson to be learned here is 2. Be sure your camera is secured before you start your video and and 2, be sure you a have a working lighter. God bless
Ah man, I had high hopes for the volcano. Sometimes you just gotta waste more vodka😂 Sorry I missed the live. Great fried rice👍
I had high hopes too sorry to disappoint. Next time I'll get it.
@@JohnnyBrunet I don't blame you for not wanting to waste the Titos. Lol.
@@JohnnyBrunet use brandy it works better for the volcano
@@mrbakerjjim thank you, I will do that next time. I'm determined to get this volcano on camera!
Did you forget the sesame oil? I probably missed it. At least you got an excuse to get a new lighter 🙂 Will you be doing anymore live streams?
ya I probably forgot it. I will be doing more live streams, I might do one this weekend.
Nice 1 sir.. my fave dish for breakfast...👍🇵🇭
Thank so much.
Cocoa Crispies , Raisin Bran Crunch, Lucky Charms and Honeycomb are my 4 lol
😂 great choices Brenda! Hard to argue with those, I do like frosted mini wheats though. I would leave out raisin bran.
@@JohnnyBrunet I like frosted mini wheats too!
Fruit loops or Apple Jacks
Don't know why but I just never was an apple jacks guy. Love me some fruit loops though.
What kind of oil are you using? Might have said it but didn’t hear it
I used canola on this one.
Honey cheerios, Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, Frosted Flakes.
Stro g choices my friend.
frosted flakes
captain crunch
honey bunches of oats almonds
fruity pebbles
Very strong choices my friend. I am more of a cocoa pebbles man myself but to each his own. Thanks for watching.
Did it taste like something was lacking? Sesame Oil maybe? Thanks for the video. I've picked up a lot from your channel.
Ya Dan this cook was before I started using sesame oil with my dried rices. That is definitely what it was missing, I always use it now. You're welcome for the video, thank you for watching man.
Don’t forget Captain Crunch!
The Capn' makes it happen!
Like your laid back cooking! Where did you get the wire warming tray/
Thanks Greg! I got it at a restaurant supply store but sometimes they have it on Amazon. It's a 5 x 10 wire grate. There should be a link in my description. But if Amazon is out just Google "restaurant supply store" and if there's one by you they'll have it. Thanks so much for watching.
Fruity Pebbles all the way. 😂
What's in the cup... lol Hello from NC...
Hello! I can't quite remember but it's probably hot tea, or maybe an Irish coffee 😁. Thanks for watching!
You forgot the sesame oil ?
I knew🤦♂️ this video was before I had learned about it. I use it every time now.
Moral of the story: Always check your lighter before you pour your vodka.
The rice looked delicious.
Hahaha yup, and watch out for the wind. It was also part of the problem. Thanks for watching Kenny.
Thats why i have a griddle. I hate cereal!!!! LOL
🤣🤣🤣🤣
How did you set your burners for this cook ?
I try to get it around 400 which is usually all 4 burners between med-low. Thanks for watching Erok
Please not much on the edits. I enjoy all of the human attempts!!
Thanks Deb! I'll try to do some more live videos to show what it's like all the way through.
Golden Grahams
Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Captain Crunch
Honey Nut Cheerios
Very very strong choices. It's been a minute since I had some GG's. I might need to make a trip to the store after work 😃
What temperature do you cook the rice at?
Hey Roger, I try to keep the griddle between 375-400 for my fried rice's.
I should say congrats to your wife lol
Your cereal choices are making my teeth hurt. I like Cheerios with sliced bananas, or raisins, or both. No sugar added.
No sugar!!!😭😭 I think we are eating cereal for different reasons lol. I respect your choices though. I enjoy eating Cheerios with banana with my one year old son. Or sometimes we do blueberries. Thanks so much for watching.
@@JohnnyBrunet , I just discovered your videos and I love them. I have a Camp Chef stove with a steel griddle I purchased separately that we are going to use when we camp. It’s not as fancy as what you have, but a lot of the same principles apply, I suspect.
@@peggyrbaldwin thanks so much I'm so glad you like the videos and appreciate you watching. So I'm assuming you have the explorer or one of there portable grills. Those look nice but I've never used one. Yes all the same principles will apply, you just might have a little more difficulty controlling the heat due to having two round burners. However I think if you just get an infrared you'll be able to make everything and anything. You'll just have to learn how to get it to the temp you want by either turning burners down, or one on one of, or starting the cook once it hits where you want like 375.
Anyways I think you'll still be able to cook whatever you want. Thanks so much for watching and if you ever have questions feel free to ask.
@@JohnnyBrunet , I have a Camp Chef Everest 2X, which has 2 20K burners. I bought an infrared thermometer that is supposed to come tomorrow. I can see a real need for that, based on what I’ve seen on your videos. Another thing you explained in one of the videos is that these griddles get hotter than you would expect, so there is no need to turn the temperature up over medium low or medium. The literature from Camp Chef doesn’t explain that well, so I am grateful to you for providing that info. I’ll keep watching!!
@@peggyrbaldwin awesome! good call on the thermometer. ya all the camp chef stuff just boasts how many btu's it has and how powerful it is which I get is for marketing but that doesn't make it practical. You're going to be having some good camping breakfasts in your future I can feel it.
What type of oil do you use?
I just use canola oil then finish with toasted sesame oil. The last one I did of Chicken Fried Rice I just used a ton of butter like they do at the Japanese steakhouses. And that turned out real well.

@@JohnnyBrunet Thanks! ordered a flat top yesterday and look forward to using it right!
@@colehorton8092 hell ya! Congratulations on the new purchase. You'll love it, if you have any questions about how to use it or how I do things just let me know. I'm always happy to help.
Next time keep lighter in your pocket. They don’t light well when cold
Thanks, ya I think that would have helped me in this scenario lol. It was a little cold though, I appreciate you watching have a good one.
Instead of the onion volcano squirt sake in the neighbors’ mouths. Much more fun.
Now that's how you make an introduction to your new neighbors
Forgot the sesame oil
🤦♂️
