Yep. Classic Doom was the origin of telefragging, and it was created early on to deal with a problem involving players and monsters teleporting inside each other. Basically, if you teleported into a spot where another player or a monster was standing in, you'd kill that player or monster instantly. Monsters were normally unable to do this to you due to the way the game's code handled monster teleports, but certain things like the Boss Cubes shot by the Icon of Sin from Doom II were capable of spawning monsters, and if you were standing in a cube's landing zone when it hit, it would kill you even if you had God Mode on.
Slight error about Delirium in the "All bosses are Isaac" section, it's not that Delirium is Isaac's fear of all these bosses, Delirium is supposed to be the fear of "going into the light" and seeing his life flash before his eyes. This is why Delirium will only take the form of bosses you've fought in the run. Through a lucky spawb of The Shovel on the first floor devil room, it is theoretically possible to fight Delirium after only one boss, Mom's Heart/It Lives, to see that in action.
Generated repentance was a gag done to on the Binding of Isaac Discord to compliment the repentance blogposts. A user used an open AI, gpt-3, to "generate" the next repentance blogposts to... hilarious results!
I believe the "Snail Sprite" entry is also a reference to Leather Ice Cream, he has a video in which he teaches people how to create Isaac style sprites, and during the animation section of the video he uses a snail enemy as an example, leading to that same sprite being copied many, many times in the modding community

The story of Broski needs to be told, man. In fact, the story of the whole modding scene was kind of wild (I modded Isaac for a bit during the Afterbirth+ era. I was on the team that made Alphabirth). It was so competitive with everything trying to be "the next Antibirth". Anyway just a little bit of insight there. Great video!
In an interview with Edmund hosted by Hutts just yesterday I recall Edmund saying the Meconium Secret Room may have been unintentional or a result of a coding error. (Hutts interview was on March 26th, about 9 days after this video went up.)
The actual story is that it was built off the basis of a different secret room he reused, and didn’t realize what he made. But it’s iconic now, so it stays.

The Edith reference in Repentance occurs sometimes when you activate a new card that turns you into a statue. Sometimes you turn into Edith graphically. Edmund has officially stated that Isaac has gender dysphoria. The original mod that became the booster pack item Pop! was instead billiard balls. This makes the mechanics make a little more sense and explains the clicking sounds when the eyeballs bounce into each other. Leathericecream was a dev on repentance pretty sure. The voice of bumbo is meant to be Isaac's father's voice. Back in flash Isaac there was a broken room with Chub but only the bigger two segments. In rebirth this room was brought over including the broken Chub. She cannot spawn enemies due to missing a segment. If you find undefined in flash Isaac then while it is cycling through sprites you can see pumpkin mask/pumpkin helmet in-game.
unkilable fly: It refers to a bug where a fly appears in right low corner. And you can't kill it unless you quit and reload Inescapable room: getting TP'd in secret room in greed mode can do this. If you have no bombs, F Satoru Iwata (?): secret character only playable during dailies on his birthday, he spawns with the gamekid.
I think gender dysphoria is about the transition cutscene where Isaac goes out in a dress, and everybody else laughs at Isaac. There's also a picture of him in a dress with his mother in the Delirium ending. It's worth mentioning that there's also a cutscene where Isaac panics when his utility falls off, so I doubt it has anything to do with actual dysphoria.
There's a similar scene involving a wig, if I remember correctly. Not to mention the female personas that Isaac adopts in his imagination. He certainly displays traits of gender nonconformity.
9:15 adding to this, I believe the themes of gender dysphoria are a lot more prevalent than people give them credit, this can be seen especially in Isaacs nightmares during floor transitions, in one of them, he gets maggy's wig as a present and is really happy wearing it, but he is then bullied by a bunch of kids and becomes terrified, in another he is seen gladly wearing a dress, and then getting bullied by other kids again, this fear, specifically, fear of self expression, is a big part of his charcter, as mom and religion repress his creativity because of his evil drawings and storytelling, and although they are considered bad, his relationship with gender would be considered a lot worse, seen as depraved and disgusting to the ultra religious such as mom, due to this influence, Isaac also sees himself as intrinsically corrupt and unworthy, as other parts of his repressed self expression are not directly tied to his being such as gender.

Very small correction but my 4000+ hours in tf2 wont let it stay unsaid I guess. Telefragging would ONLY kill the player standing on the teleporter, not the person who teleported onto them, the person teleporting is also rewarded the kill. There is no way to survive a telefrag. Theres also a similar mechanic in this game with the Stitches item where teleporting onto an enemy kills it instantly, and teleporting on a boss deals very high damage to it (Potentially killing it as well) Edit: Didnt realize at the time repentance wasnt out yet, so me mentioning stitches makes no sense lol.
16:58 The lamb has been confirmed by Edmund to be Isaac just like most other enemies and everything else in the game. The lost unlocks and some fortune teller dialogue also imply the lamb is Isaacs soul lost in darkness.
Okay so off-topic but I think The Lost (with mantle obviously) is actually one of the best characters in Afterbirth+. Free hit in every room, free devil deals, free cursed rooms, flight, etc. If you’re patient, free temperance machines.
They're definitely strong, but don't underestimate just how brutal it is to be 2 hits from death at all times. I actually think Isaac is generally stronger because of the d6, though Judas is also nutty cuz of the raw power (Even if he's even more fragile to start off). Do be careful though - holy mantle does *not* stop temperance machine damage, so you'll just die if you touch one.
You only get free hit after reaching a certain level on the greed machine. Base version lost does not have mantle or d4. He's still good but a simple carefless mistake or a stray tear on base-version lost ends the run easily.
Four souls does have a co-op mode but usually it is a competitive card game where the players compete to be the first to beat four bosses and claim “four souls”
Devonandpayne is the username of a Newgrounds user who was one of the first people to comment on the flash demo. The creator of this Iceberg image said that he thought that user was THE first, but really it was just a filler entry to the image.
The yes mother transformation is a reference to hitchcock's psycho. The killer in that movie also weilds a knife and ends up dressing in his mom's clothes.
For the gender dysphoria part of the iceberg, there are actually weirder bits about Isaac and his gender that seem to be sprinkled throughout the game, examples of this being some of isaacs dreams between floors in which there is often some form of reference to sexuality or gender, the character Maggie who is implied to be something which Isaac would often play dress up as, and there are many references to birth and the like throughout the novel
Not sure if it’s been mentioned already, but the silhouettes Mother Orb spawns are called “Freezer” because, believe it or not, it’s a reference to an infamously dangerous bug in Saints Row 2, but only on the console versions IIRC. If you managed to get out of the play area in one of the zombie shooting activities with some well-timed grenade jumps and clipping, you could get into the normal game world, but with no pedestrians or cars, only the occasional zombie spawn. From this moment on, the Freezer could appear at any time and crash your game, in some cases even permanently ruining the disc or damaging your console. The sprites in the Isaac mod are traced over screenshots of him. He actually appears as a silhouette of a base male character, usually in a neutral standing pose, but sometimes he looks to be performing an action you’re currently doing or just finished doing, for example parachuting.
in tf2, the person who goes through the teleporter will not get killed. So if a blue soldier stands on a red teleporter and someone walks through that teleporter, the blue soldier will die.

You can also get to the I Am Error room by using the Red Key to get out of the normal 13x13 map. Telefragging in TF2 only kills the person hit, not the one being hit. Additionally, the familiar item Stitches is a rechargable telefrag item.

Every iceberg video I watch, it always opens with them talking about how popular and overdone iceberg videos are, and I'm starting to take it personally because I keep watching them.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's possible that Basement -1 is what it says if you use a sacrifice room to teleport to the dark room while on the BASE MENT seed
that’s what i thought too, but i tried that in a part of this run i didn’t get to show and it just brought me to the dark room :(

and the bumbo is isaacs dad thing refers to that isaacs dad is the one who is doing the voice of bumbo, after getting 100% in that game, it changes the intro cutscene, and the ending, revealing that isaacs dad is the one doing the bumbo voice/created the character

Actually it refers to the ending song "Bumbo Got Coin", where at the end Bumbo's voice swiftly turns into the Narrator's, confirming he voices Bumbo in the game (Which was obvious, but still).
I think the Lil' Squid refers to the person and YT channel that showed coding and sprite designing for Eternal Edition, having exactly the same Squid as avatar.

The "tears are labelled as arrows" at 3:25 is actually a common misconception. The active item has the word "space" next to it, showing what key uses the item, and the same goes for the tears, with "arrows" referring to the arrow keys.

One cool thing about the I AM ERROR room, is that it is a direct reference to Zelda II where there is an NPC inside a house which states "I AM ERROR" when talked to.
Wanted to clarify 5:34; the binding of isaac has also many refernces to the flash games made by Edmund, which can be found in the basement collection, which is a game where you can play old flash game by Edmund. Nice explanation btw

Very small correction but my 4000+ hours in tf2 wont let it stay unsaid I guess.
Telefragging would ONLY kill the player standing on the teleporter, not the person who teleported onto them, the person teleporting is also rewarded the kill.
There is no way to survive a telefrag.
Theres also a similar mechanic in this game with the Stitches item where teleporting onto an enemy kills it instantly, and teleporting on a boss deals very high damage to it (Potentially killing it as well)
Edit: Didnt realize at the time repentance wasnt out yet, so me mentioning stitches makes no sense lol.
16:58 The lamb has been confirmed by Edmund to be Isaac just like most other enemies and everything else in the game. The lost unlocks and some fortune teller dialogue also imply the lamb is Isaacs soul lost in darkness.

Okay so off-topic but I think The Lost (with mantle obviously) is actually one of the best characters in Afterbirth+. Free hit in every room, free devil deals, free cursed rooms, flight, etc. If you’re patient, free temperance machines.
They're definitely strong, but don't underestimate just how brutal it is to be 2 hits from death at all times. I actually think Isaac is generally stronger because of the d6, though Judas is also nutty cuz of the raw power (Even if he's even more fragile to start off). Do be careful though - holy mantle does *not* stop temperance machine damage, so you'll just die if you touch one.
You only get free hit after reaching a certain level on the greed machine. Base version lost does not have mantle or d4. He's still good but a simple carefless mistake or a stray tear on base-version lost ends the run easily.

Devonandpayne is the username of a Newgrounds user who was one of the first people to comment on the flash demo. The creator of this Iceberg image said that he thought that user was THE first, but really it was just a filler entry to the image.
The yes mother transformation is a reference to hitchcock's psycho. The killer in that movie also weilds a knife and ends up dressing in his mom's clothes.
For the gender dysphoria part of the iceberg, there are actually weirder bits about Isaac and his gender that seem to be sprinkled throughout the game, examples of this being some of isaacs dreams between floors in which there is often some form of reference to sexuality or gender, the character Maggie who is implied to be something which Isaac would often play dress up as, and there are many references to birth and the like throughout the novel
Not sure if it’s been mentioned already, but the silhouettes Mother Orb spawns are called “Freezer” because, believe it or not, it’s a reference to an infamously dangerous bug in Saints Row 2, but only on the console versions IIRC. If you managed to get out of the play area in one of the zombie shooting activities with some well-timed grenade jumps and clipping, you could get into the normal game world, but with no pedestrians or cars, only the occasional zombie spawn. From this moment on, the Freezer could appear at any time and crash your game, in some cases even permanently ruining the disc or damaging your console. The sprites in the Isaac mod are traced over screenshots of him. He actually appears as a silhouette of a base male character, usually in a neutral standing pose, but sometimes he looks to be performing an action you’re currently doing or just finished doing, for example parachuting.
in tf2, the person who goes through the teleporter will not get killed. So if a blue soldier stands on a red teleporter and someone walks through that teleporter, the blue soldier will die.

As someone who went to a Christian school, I can confirm they think it’s a great and decently accurate modernization of the story. Regardless, they think it paints a somewhat bad picture, but you’re still allowed to play it there. Never asked my church though.
