  • Dailey's Walk-Behind Tractors taking a first look and test of the BCS Rollerblade flail mower. This mower was just recently released into the US market in the 30" size. This mower could be a great fit for market growers. The easy and very fast height adjustment (hand crank style) on the Rollerblade is very "slick". There is no other flail mower in the USA right now that has this easy of a height adjustment system (at least not that will run on the BCS walk-behind tractor). Cut height from roughly 1/2" to 2.5" max. After test mowing for about 1 hour, we really like this mower! BCS does also offer the Bladerunner flail mower as well, which is similar but comes stock with front caster wheels but the roller is optional. In the case of the Bladerunner, its the caster wheels that are adjusted via the hand crank as the skids or optional roller remain stationary. We should have another video out on the Bladerunner within the next week. In this video we ran the 30" Rollerblade flail on a BCS 853 diesel tractor. Tires were 5" x 12". Thanks for watching!

While I know that bcs n yhe flail are awesome.. I hardly ever find vids that truly treat this beast of a combination. The grass in the vids I see are quite short

Hi. At the time we did this video the "Rollerblade" had just been released, so we cut what we had around. It is a very good flail mower. But so is the BCS Bladerunner model and the Berta Shark model. All have their Pros and Cons. For those trying to decide before they purchase they may want to consider talking with our experts as we know all the Pros and Cons of the 3 models of flail mower just mentioned. Thanks and don't be shy to post your own video of the Rollerblade in action! Thanks for comment!

@@DaileysFarmTools sure no problem. I'm not complaining tho. I have the berta. It's not that I have a problem with Daileys Farm et al. I just wasnt able to find videos that demonstrate the high grass-cutting ability of the machine. It's good. A beast. But can swallow only so much that you allow it to chew.

Thanks for the video. I was hoping someone would get their hands on the new RollerBlade and do a review.

Your welcome. I like this mower a lot. The only thing I wish it had was some side to side "float". Really depends upon ground conditions as to whether or not this is needed. In rough conditions it would be nice. Mowing raised beds or flat ground it is not necessary. I wish BCS would make a male QH with a slotted hole for the pin to fit in, as this would allow some side to side movement. If you are in the market for one, give me a call and we can discuss. thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I've often had the same thought about the floating quick hitch attachment. I have a 90cm BladeRunner, and while I'd love to upgrade to the RollerBlade I can't really justify it, though if I was starting all over again I'd probably get the RollBlade instead.

Thank you for your movie .Do you think that the BCS 740 with honda Gx390 has enough power to work with this rollerblade 75 (30'') in hard conditions in first gear ?

Hi. Yes, the Honda GX390 will be fine. It actually has more HP and torque at full throttle, than the Kohler KD440 diesel engine that I was using in the video. 1st gear may be needed for very thick material. In the video I was mostly in 2nd gear (except when mowing the raised bed, 1st gear). Just keep in mind max cutting height is about 2.5". If you need to go higher you will need to look at either the BCS Bladerunner flail or the Berta flail mower.

No. 730 is under powered and handlebar system is inferior for that heavy Rollerblade mower. 13HP is recommended for Rollerblade flail. U could consider 24" Bladerunner or 26" Berta shark flail mower.
