I’m a big fan of the Army Navy, which is essentially a bees knees w orgeat instead of honey. So tasty!
Now this is the kind of video I could have used when I was starting with my cocktail adventure! So many channels have so many exotic ingredients and extensive syrup setup that I just got good at old fashioneds. Thanks for the hook up... again.
In my opinion the blinker is one of those underrated rye cocktails because you normally don't think about bright and citrusy when you think about rye whiskey
Bee’s knees is one of my all time favorite cocktails. Simple, yet effective.
Have you had a Gin Hound? A fun little riff
@@stevenjacobs2750 I have not, but it’s been on my radar.
LEANDRO!!! I LOVE 3 ingredient cocktails, especially stirred!!! I need to try that Blinker for sure!!! CHEERS!!!
Very interesting fact about the rocks reflecting the cocktail colour! I love a good Gold Rush and I will start serving it on the rocks.
The Bijou should absolutely have made this list in my opinion!
This just great! A reality check for the Barfly community. Or as someone said in the movies, “Stop the insanity!” And make simple drinks you can enjoy over and over. Thanks boss!
I liked the Old Pal very much, I have very few Campari drinks on my "list." Actually the only one presented here for which I had all the ingredients.
YES! Thanks for this episode!
Bees knees is my fave out of these
These are some great cocktails. Sometimes simple is the best. Who wants to work hard after a long day of work!
Hmmm the Mezcal Rickey sounds tasty!
Bee's knees is one of my all-time favourites. I've often made it with a 50%/50% mix of honey syrup and ginger syrup. Delicious, but then it's obviously not 3-ingredient anymore.
Whiskey, lemon juice, honey and ginger syrup are the ingredients in a Penicillin Cocktail and sounds like a pretty healthy mix to me
We need more of these type of cocktail recipe videos! Thanks!
Thank you!! this is a great video!
Thanks for sharing 😇
Thanks for sharing ❤
Great video and yes, too many recipes now that do require a scavenger hunt for ingredients!! Great idea and fun cocktails!
These are awesome. Thanks for the video. I happen to have all the ingredients at home. So, I think these will be put to the test. Thanks again.
I mean the obvious name for the last cocktail is the Mezcollins, right?
The Mezcal Rickey sounds like something I need to make ASAP.
And great video as always, Leandro. You are my go-to source of inspiration when it comes to cocktails.
The Americano! My go to for summer.
Blinker is one of my faves!
Great video as always! Unfortunately the last drink was a 4 ingredient cocktail. For me it comes down to this: is the cocktail complete without the soda water? If not, then it’s an essential ingredient. But this is just playful banter. I appreciate you guys putting out entertaining and educational content as always. Cheers!
As someone who has started making drinks at home recently. I thank you for this video. Some recipes are so crazy. Great video!
All these drinks look so good. Let get one of each please and thank you.
I love simple. Still packs a punch.
Love the Mezcal Rickey! I don't know if it is a true Rickey, but it is delicious. Thank you! And thank you for the simple drinks, I always find they are the best!
I just got my weekends off after 5.5 years. Looking forward to that list of bars in LA.
Somehow the only rye on my shelf today is Angel's Envy rye finished in Caribbean rum barrel. That makes a really interesting and tasty blinker.
I’m at work right now, so I can’t watch the video atm, but I’ll guess the drinks in the thumbnail from left to right and come back later to see how correct I was.
-whiskey sour
-cosmonaut
-gin sour (maybe an army and navy, which is the best variation imo)
-Negroni, served up (very classy)
-a mule of some kind (my initial guess was Moscow, but this might be a London mule because gin is objectively better)
Edit: corrected the autocorrect “mile” to “mule”
Wow, 0/5. Gonna have to hit the books and broaden my horizons when it comes to unique yet approachable cocktails with simple specs.
So grateful for the Blinker! Have everything here and tomorrow will be Black Eye Friday I guess.
"i'll include one with campari, as a treat for me" -Leandro, a disgusting but very talented man
The Boulevardier/Old Pal/Gal are so good, though!
😂
Thanks, as always.
Can you make a video using green Ancho Reyes and perhaps what the difference is between it and the red?
i.e. touching on where you could use red and not green and vice-versa?
Try it, gin cranberry.
2oz plymouth gin.
1.5oz lakewood pure cranberry
0.75oz simple syrup.
Lime wedge garnish.
Although a popular combo, i didnt google this ratio, first time figuring it out myself 😊
Taking notes if anyone tries
The 1st cocktail i think of when someone say 3 ingredient cocktail is the Daiquiri - Rum, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup.. (Mojito would be 4 ingredients with the Mint Leaves) or the Cuba Libre - Rum, Coke, Lime Juice.
Classic and delicious..
I love, love, love these amazing cocktails! Simple and delicious!! Leandro your video inspired me to make a couple of Old Pals for my husband and me tonight!! Fabulous!! Cheers!! 🙂
Cheers! ❤️ ♥️ 💜
@@TheEducatedBarfly 🙂
I usually make my Blinker with raspberry syrup but I'll need to try it with pomegranate syrup next. That looks great!
On the last drink, maybe a Mezcal Fizz is a more appropriate name? It looks tasty no matter what you'd call it!
.
I like Old Pals, but I prefer it with blanc vermouth. Not sure if that has its own name.
Is there any particular reason that the Old Pal (which is like a dry, rye Negroni) is served up... as opposed to on a big rock like the Negroni?
YESSSSSSSSS!!! I'm number 7!!!!!
can you do a cotton candy martini? there's so many different recipes online lol
What ratio honey syrup do you use?
What’s the use of taking a big cube and cracking it?
Bee's Knees but with rye.
Nevermind i got further into this video and you make it
The bees knees = bis neess = bis ness = business. Im a believer that the bees knees is just someone trying to say thats the business in a silly way
Is there a name for a vodka version of a bee's knees?
I'm gonna go past the notion of soda water being an ingredient, and posit that the water in dilution and aeration in shaking count as two ingredients in their own right.
Jk, I don't post on reddit
Wait @TheEducatedBarfly.... did I just watch you shake carbonated soda water? Ugh.... I did that once, never again (lesson learned by spray across the room). Teach me about that please! Explain why you didn't just add the soda water after the shake?
He didn't shake any soda. He poured it into the bottom of the glass
Nah I don’t do that 😂
It was easy to miss because it was poured into the glass before the other ingredients were put in the shaker. I was curious about two different things. One, why shake the other ingredients rather than pour? And two, why put the soda in the glass before instead of after or does it matter?
Great video! Love these!
So, since I've been quiet for a while and therefore not ripping you for something, I urge you to please look up the pronunciation of the word "medicinal". Every time you say it, I need to back up the video because I miss the next 15 seconds because it just stops my brain.
Love ya, buddy. But I gotta be me!
I'm interested in learning some cocktails that are good for drinking while floating around in the pool in 100 degree weather. No fancy glassware please. lol
Daiquiri, margarita, and jungle bird.
@@sheldoniusRex Honestly the Ricky / Collins format (with the base liquor of your preference) is good for that. Cold, light, and contains a fair amount of water to mitigate how fast alcohol + heat is dehydrating you.
@@MostlyUnreadArmchairExpert Probably something like a Dark ‘n Stormy or a Mojito would fit that bill nicely too. But I totally agree with the basic recommendation: Long drinks all the way!
I'm thinking they only made great cocktails in that era. I could be fun with a video of bad cocktails from the same period.. And then make them good.
Wait....
Honey tastes savory to you?
It's crazy Leandro..... after all these years, after all your videos.... you still pronounce "medicinal" wrong! lol Still love your videos, though! Keep it up!
This is a response to a previous comment I made guessing the cocktails based on the thumbnail.
Wow, 0/5. Gonna have to hit the books and broaden my horizons when it comes to unique yet approachable cocktails with simple specs.
I miss the old videos where Barfly focused on one cocktail, like the classics series. It's hard to reference these collection videos and remember the content so I can find it again
The in n out of the screen was making me sick. Maybe it’s just me . 😊
