I had a 2012 e350 convertible and just sold it March 2024 with 145k miles to buy a pick up truck or an E500 wagon , my car not once , not once gave me any trouble . Simple maintenance and trouble free. Any car brand producing tons of cars is going to have a few give problems and other brands will have tons .

You never mentioned the balance shaft, one of the most important parts

Thank you for the video and showing us the car. Are the VVT solenoids in the same position as the camshaft position sensors? Some issues I’ve had with my 2005 E350 AvantGarde: front suspension arms, intake manifold replaced (due to tumble flap break), thermostat, transmission speed sensor/ conductor plate. Other areas to watch are all exterior rubbers (never saw this perishing on my 28 year old W124 300E), replaced front windscreen lower seal and shelf assembly ($1000Au), stitching along top edge of rear seats breaks/ splits due to sun exposure. Otherwise the car is reliable and always a joy to drive :-)

I love Mercedes cars but don't have the kind of income to keep them running over the long term. If you love high end cars be prepared to pay high end prices for maintenance/repairs.

Kinda nice to know these were his common 5. Thats just about any 20yr old car aside from vvt. Engine looks like a lot of sensors. Engine cooling would have to be bulletproof. Nice cars tho. One of the first dealerships i visited as a kid was Mercedes. Nothing wrong with Brand New.

Hi, I don’t know if you’ll see this but just wondering if you could help me
I’ve bought a car in the past months off someone who had it given to them by an older lady who stopped driving it back in 2009 and has been sitting still ever since. Ive gone to try and change the spark plugs and they are completely stuck or seized. The car drives well but I’d say once every 30 starts it doesn’t start first try and I have to turn it off and back on again. I’ve tried using some release spray but this doesn’t help at all. I don’t want to give it too much force in case I break the plug. Sorry for the bother. (The car is a Ford Fiesta 1.4 2005)
    Thanks.

Rust belt has nothing to do with rust, but with economic decline. Please stop using this term wrong.
