it's not about that. in the US tour, Neymar was the "star", he was the one scoring as Valverde & even Messi gave him the freedom to come in from the wing. I heard for myself, all the fans did was chant Messi, even though the performances were coming from Neymar. That's what side kick means. Messi is a iconic figure at the club, even if he is sitting on the bench it will be all about Messi.
the 6-1 over PSG, it was Neymar who picked up the slack towards the end of the game when Messi faded out, he provided that assist to Sergi Roberto and to this day, Sergi Roberto still gets all the praise for that game, and even Messi to some extent.

Coming from a Belgian, Hazard is heavily overrated. Always has been. He wasn't the player at Lille Neymar was at PSG so why would he be the playerat Real Neymar was at Barca when he even made a stop at Chelsea where he, imo, proved that would be the highest step. @Samuel Montano Messi playing in the wing could happen with or without Neymar in a 4231. The only thing that changes in terms of players is that Dembele doesn’t join. Coutinho came in as an Iniesta replacement either way. Griezmann for Suarez in the long term but Coutinho for the short.

Obviously Griezmann will drift from his False #9 position to the right half space and complement Messi in the process. The other moves in the middle and they rotate throughout the game. When Coutinho has the ball he drifts to the left half space and help Dembele-Alba but also moves to the Centre on which Messi cuts in to give him a passing option and Dest overlaps while Griezmann stays forward and creates smart movement.

@Samuel Montano Not really mate. Suarez was getting old and the board knew it hence the Griezmann signing. Coutinho was about to leave and they discovered that Griezmann cannot play as a lone #9 so they went for Martinez in the market.
I agree with your statement on Messi. He naturally drifts to the right half but sometimes we see him drop too centrally. However he needs to be fluid. Depending on the situation he can move to the Center or right. Griezmann could be vice versa or could make runs in behind once Messi-Coutinho pick out Dest-Alba-Dembele. Coutinho generally is in the left but at times move centrally.
Most Second ST’s have proven to be adept in playing as a False #9. Friminio, Kai, Müller, etc. were CAMs that are remarkable and adept in playing as a False #9. Why can’t Griezmann do the same? He has great movement, great pressing, likes to drop deep, has a decent head, etc.
THATS a fluid 4231 that suits our team best. You can call it a 460.
Real play a similar model to ourselves. They have Hazard, Asensio, and Benzema three #10’s basically. Hell you can make it four if you want to include Modric in the place of Valverde. I didn’t even mention Isco and Martin Ø.
I prefer Hazard on the left but he needs freedom to shine. Since Madrid have Asensio who will probably make his way to the starting team, it’s best if they put Hazard in the middle and rotate him with Martin Ø and they can keep Asensio on the right. Vice versa also works. Though when Isco plays Hazard could get pushed to the left and Asensio ideally doesn’t play.

All things considdered, Barca is being managed extremely bad. No sound financial policy, bad communication and bad treatment of people all around. No clear vision of where the club is at a certain moment and where it wants to be, whoever is president or chairman, all the decisions that have been made in the past 5 or 6 years are made out of panic!!
