… Has there been anything do to stop AIs from seriously harming people the moment they go rampant, or anything to stop them from going rampant at all like dumping unneeded information? Humans last serval decades, with their heads full of a lot of that information accumulated over that time. So I’m sure that deleting recordings of dull battles where nothing happens will be fine. This feels like Wh40k levels of avoidability. I finished Halo 3 and I’m going onto ODST, so I don’t know for certain what happens to AI.

The fact that the AI just decided to create a totally different character out of nowhere by the name of "High Demon Elgrim" and that the character stuck around to the end is one of the most internet thing ever.
I think Doug brought it up in the code afterwards
My headcanon is that any time the AI began going crazy (the screeching, incoherent rambling, etc.), it was High Demon Elgrim's influence trying to take over.

Theory: elgrin is sam 1 and that’s why Sam 24 references him along with his other older brother at 2:00:26, also why he is first mentioned by 4, not 1. Sam 1 died and became a high demon and tried to warn his younger brothers, and when his brother didn’t heed his warning he killed them.

I noticed when it comes to names, no one ever says "My name is..." except for Sam. Everyone else either doesn't give a name, gives a fake name (Exogomper and Mud), or uses the specific language "You can call me..." (Otto). This reluctance from literally everyone to give a real name honestly reminds me of tales of the Fae, where giving them your real name means they own you. My only conclusion, then, is that this world is not something from Sam's imagination, but is actually some twisted Fae realm, and it's a miracle Sam didn't get killed or enslaved.

Unfortunately, it seems that Sam #25 tragically took his own life by shooting himself in the head 7 times with a six-shooter and throwing himself from the top of Darkness' house. He truly was a troubled boy.
Oddly enough, the customs trees' stories were inconsistent, some saying that they witnessed the entire ordeal, some claiming that they were in another part of the land of darkness at the time (a truly incredible feat given their rooted nature) and one tree claimed that he witnessed the boy being murdered, but he later changed his story, claiming he had been lying previously.

To anyone wondering how this game could be speedrun in 43 seconds, it would appear that you can skip literally every cutscene in the game by clicking. It basically boils down to memorizing the places to click in what order. It looks like Sam quickly teleporting around in a rhythmic timing.
correction: according to plank, the #1 runner, you skip cutscenes by hitting the escape button. you just have to memorize the order and rhythm of when/where to click and when to hit escape
