    Great video - For that last hard to grease fitting - I did just what everybody else did, I rotated the fitting so I can get the grease gun on it. these grease point are not high pressure so there is no real chance of leaks etc if you loosen the grease fittings slightly. But great video

  • @oakwoodlawnmaintenancellc.1093

    Nice video ! On that last grease zerk fitting I just turned it pointing it down its now easier to grease.

      Which direction did you rotate the zerk fitting? And did you just leave it in that position permanently?

    Over 500 hours on my Radius. I grease all four points every 25 hours. FWIW I use a right angle attachment on my grease gun for both wheels and for the zerk at the back of the deck. For the zerk under the engine, I just rotated the fitting to point to the rear and the straight grease gun fitting works fine. No need to do the disassembly you are going through.

    The last zirk was pointed down for me as well. I jacked the rear to get a good look at it but in the future I'll probably just be able to lock on without jacking.

    I really appreciated the video! I bought my Exmark Radius E in Spring of 2021. Don't know if it's actually a 2020. That last grease fitting on mine was pointing down and east to get to so maybe they saw your video and changed the placement of the fitting. Thanks for the videos!

    Look into those vertical spindles on the front wheels. They used to have fittings years ago, but they eliminated them. But they need to be taken apart and greased. Or you could add a fitting to it by drilling and tapping a hole.

    485 hours (residential) on my 4 1/2 year old 60" Radius E, had a couple warranty covered problems...........but for the most part, I'm happy with mine. Keep it lubed, do your oil changes, keep the deck clean or you can break belts, give it some Seafoam once a year and it'll do fine. I'm cutting 5 acres/week, run it 2 - 4 hrs. at a time depending on rain/darkness.

    • @foster_williams

    The lady I bought my house from left a me Exmark Pioneer and trying to find a concise maintenance model short of a PHD thesis on engineering is impossible. There must be 20 different models! And secondly, why aren't the barring's packed instead of circa 1970s grease gun technology?

  • @henrylombard1965
    @henrylombard1965 Před 3 lety +4

    Well done but, wow, what a pain. It seems like really poor engineering to need to grease an upside down, impossible to get at zirk! Bad move ex mark. Couldn’t a sealed or shielded bearing have been used in some way?

  • @calenwoodell3623

    • @jaggersmith4027
      @jaggersmith4027 Před 3 lety +3

      If you have exmark mowers, there’s a jack that easily connects on the front. I think it’s called a bulldog jack.

    • @foster_williams
      @foster_williams  Před 3 lety +4

      I ended up splurging for the bull dog jack, as well. It’s made that job a lot easier. Before, I used a vehicle jack with a block of wood to allow for more travel up, but that method had a lot of room for error.

    • @sanfordpemberton8053
      @sanfordpemberton8053 Před 10 měsíci

      Should always run at full throttle while blades are engaged. I typically run 1/2 to 3/4 on levers for forward movement. The latter depends on current cut quality and grass thickness. If you don't like how it's mowing reduce forward speed but always maintain full throttle.

    Please refrain from making videos about what you know nothing about. You don’t need to take the mower apart just give each point a couple squirts of grease each time you mow that’s it

    • @foster_williams
      @foster_williams  Před 3 lety +12

      Thanks for your comment. I made his video according to intervals and procedures included in the service manual. Please refrain from making negative comments and adding disinformation to the context of the video. For the record, I use this mower commercially, so “a couple squirts of grease each time” would not be efficient. Thanks for watching.
