Gosh this is so relatable in a weird way. I’ve been super sick the past few days and haven’t eaten and lost so much weight due to my fast metabolism and when I looked in the mirror I had those exact same emotions. I liked how my waist looked skinny and how my ribs were visible but I was also so disapointed in how much muscle I lost and how I looked weak and brittle.

No lie, I would starve myself to be exactly at about 95 pounds because I liked the skinny waist/no belly fat. Not good for a 5'7 guy. Now I'm like 104 (through effort) trying to gain weight because I realize how much of a skeleton I look like compared to guys my age (19) .
This is the same for me. Have tonsillitis right now and haven’t really ate anything the last 3-4 days expect popsicles, and shit like that however still having milk or a little bit of yogurt. I’ll look in the mirror and think jeez I’ve lost atleast a couple weeks of gym progress you gotta be fckn kidding me

This year I observed the month of Ramadan and the hardest part of fasting every day for 30 days was the emotions it brought up. I would cry about so many things I never thought about before.

I always thought fasting for Ramadan for x amount of days meant not eat anything for x amount of days. But it just meant they like 16-18hr fasting a day which is easily doable.
If this video has made you decide to try extended fasting, lemme give y'all some info/tips first (yeah it's long but whatever):
- Eat well for at least one week beforehand. Trust me, you'll be thankful
- Start fasting *after* you take a shit. Even now, if I enter a fasting state, my body will shut down *so* fast, and it leaves me bloated and moody. *I* don't want to feel like a pufferfish. *You* don't want to feel like a pufferfish. Fast *after* you take a shit.
- Salt in your water. I'd reccomend more specialized electrolytes if you have access to them (example: the ones in the vid), but salt does just fine, and it helps with the darkening vision.
- DON'T. DRINK. DIET. SODAS. *DON'T*. Every single time I've had a diet soda during a fast, I've broken the fast not more than 3 hours later. They make you hungry. Don't drink them.
- Never tell yourself "fuck it". If you're prone to binges, in the middle of a fast, and you find yourself thinking "fuck it, I wasn't gonna be succesful at this fast anyways" shut your goddamn mind mouth. The "fuck it" mindset can trigger a binge, and after an extended fast, bingeing is a terrible experience. Gratifying, sure, but also terrible.
- Drink a fuck ton of water before breaking the fast. Take magnesium or a laxative with your first solid meal. Your body might try to hold onto the food for much longer than it otherwise would because it thinks that you are in a survival situation. It just needs a bit of encouragement to prevent the adverse affect of constipation.
My personal take on this whole thing and why I know what I know:
As far as we know, Tyler was eating healthily before this (meeting most/all nutritional needs). This means that the fast, though *obviously extremely* difficult, was not as difficult as it would be if you were in a prolonged caloric defecit beforehand. My longest fast was 86, and before that I had been in a caloric defecit of -1200 to -1800 kcals a day for over a month.
The weather was 102 degrees, and never dropped below 85 the entire time I was fasting. To give you an idea of how my body reacted to the fasting, I *had* to wear a hoodie for most of the day, and I got goosebumps and would shiver uncontrollably otherwise despite the temperatue. The brain fog was overwhelming to the point at which I found myself dissociated most of the time. It felt like every time I blinked I jumped forward in time. I checked my stats on my fitness-watch-thingy every day and watched as my average heart rate and breaths per minute steadily decreased. My vision went completely black, my ears rang, and my face went numb every. single. time. i stood up. I cried three times over a protein bar wrapper on the floor. The fast ended, and in less than a week, I'd regained all the weight and then some.
So, long story short, it was *hellish*. Which is why I reccomend not being in a prolonged caloric defecit beforehand. I ate normally for a few weeks before trying to fast again, and it was so, so much easier. I felt energized instead of lethargic. I wasn't (as) cold. I didn't cry over protein bar wrappers. And now after months of recovering from my unhealthy eating habits, I can finally go on a fast without my body shutting itself down to try and conserve everything it can. Always do your research before trying stuff like this, and remember to love your body, because if you hate it, it will hate you right back.
I just wanted to thank you for your tips. I used to be really thin but as sometimes can happen in life I have depression and a lot of disorders and meds so I gained it back pretty fast over the years. I'm desperately trying to lose weight and have tried all sorts of weight loss meds but I don't know if they make a difference, if they do it's not fast enough for me. My mom's coworker is also trying to lose weight and he only eats between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. as a sort of fasting. I'm going to try your tips and take them to heart. I'm so desperate to lose this weight that I put on especially since I'm only 5'1 so I look a lot bigger than I should. I'm also thinking about cutting out food completely and doing only protein shakes I don't know if that's a good idea or not but I just want to get thin fast and of course I will always keep it off. My wife is really thin and I want to look good for her and I want to be healthy and change my lifestyles. I don't overeat and I don't eat complete junk food I just have bad genes I guess, everyone on my dad's side is big. I've been exercising my butt off for the past few months and I'm just not losing as much as I want. I'm getting a gym membership this winter so with the gym membership and your tips and probably me fasting with only protein shakes to get me by, no other food and only water to drink hopefully I will see some results faster. @@An0nyM00SE_1 ayooo depression meds buddies! Also, as for protein shakes as meal replacements, I wouldn't reccomend it, or things similar to that. The issue with fast weight loss is that it gets gained back pretty quickly, so a modest caloric defecit (no more than -500 a day) and a focus on protein intake will help you burn fat while maintaining muscle mass (i speak from experience, I also used to do intermittent fasting and OMADs). IMO an extended fast of 48 hrs max every two weeks or once a month is the best way to do fast weight loss without making your body think that it needs to conserve fat.

The truth is that none of us are good people and we NESD God's grace to make it to heaven. We judt simply cannot do it on our own. These Commandments arecalled the Moral Law. You and I broke the law, Jesus payed the fine. So now what we must do to be saved is to repent of our sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ! To repent doesn't mean to just say I'm sorry, but to turn from our sins and let Him truly be our Lord continually. He said that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord I have done all of these things for you. And He will say I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!!! When we see this ( our sin in its TRUE light), we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now!! I promise that you have violated them. And you might still be doing that today. Therefore God is just to poor out His wrath on us because we deserve it!! But Christ died for us so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him! Turn to Him today, and He and only He will save your soul "Verily, verily I say unto you, you must be born again ( to go to Heaven)."✝️The true joy of Christ dwells in me!! Does it in you? I remember not eating for around 50 hours in 8th grade, and I had the same sort of energized feeling after around a day in. Toward the end I felt like my brain was shutting down and I was super irritable. The night before the day I ate I just decided to keep it going out of curiosity. I didn't do this on purpose, merely I forgot to eat for a day and a half. Don't recommend, I might try a week long fast at some point soon tho.

Doing a 7 day fast with only water, black coffee and tea, changed my life a few years ago and lost 14 pounds. I had a glass of salt water in the morning and shot of apple cider vinegar at night, for minerals and detox, I think it made it much easier.
I've fasted in the past because of my body, and I've lost over 50 pounds doing so. I am healthy, active, and happier than ever now. I used to be super insecure because I didn't want people to make fun of me but I'm starting again so I can lose about 20 more pounds to reach my goal weight.

I was 5'11 by 16 years old weighted 267 I was suffering because going to school looking how I looked disgusted me so I made a change which I left all juice and sodas In the past and only drank water and kept eating my everyday food just cutting the plate in half like really took a plate and cut it in half and after a year now 17 almost 18 I'm 6'0 weighting 178 pound try it it will help and if you need juice just drink detoxing juices and cranberry juice you'll see your self I also survived a heart open surgery at 5 meaning there's no limit just your head good luck to y'all ✌🏾

That's alot of people problem. Over eating. I'm guilty of it my self sometimes too, but doing it everyday is where most people's weight problems come from.
I am a medical student and I fast very frequently for example I havent eaten anything for more than 1.5 days now because cooking is just very time consuming and I have a very important exam tomorrow but I can say that after a few times fasting now I can easily go for 1.5 days after just eating a cup noodle not even having a major meal before the fast it gets easier with practice just like everything else

I done 7 days just water and the next year done 72hrs dry fast (no food or drink). Fasting can be brutal because it’s really hard to do things in your day when it takes up all of your will to complete. Props to you bro

I've been doing one meal a day for 2 years. It's just a gigantic feast starting at about 7:00. My stomach shrink due to this so now my feasts are smaller. I then decided to do a fast for more prolonged time. So far it's been about 68 hours and I honestly feel fine. I don't have a desire to eat, my brain is working amazingly. I don't have a lack of energy I'm just completely okay with it. We will see how it goes as I continue on and decide if I want to go 96 hours or not. But really man, the best way to do it is to go on OMAD for a little bit and then do your fast. Autophagy feels awesome. The higher HGH levels make you feel like a kid. I talk faster think quicker and make better decisions this way. I might just make this a normal part of my life routine cycle.

If God judges you on judgement day by these Commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Of course you'll be guilty because we've all done these things. The truth is that none of us are good people and we NESD God's grace to make it to heaven. We judt simply cannot do it on our own. These Commandments arecalled the Moral Law. You and I broke the law, Jesus payed the fine. So now what we must do to be saved is to repent of our sins and trust alone in Jesus Christ! To repent doesn't mean to just say I'm sorry, but to turn from our sins and let Him truly be our Lord continually. He said that many will say to Him, Lord, Lord I have done all of these things for you. And He will say I never knew you. Depart from Me, ye who work iniquity! And those will be cast into outer darkness and raging hellfire and loneliness for all of eternity!!! Because we broke His law, He is very, very just to send us to hell. If someone had murdered 4 people and said to the judge, I've done nice things too and have tried to treat people nice but it was just one time, the judge would then say, okay but you're going to jail. And the judge is very just to do that. One last thing, if you were 10,000 feet in the air and you had to jump, you wouldn't jump out and flap your arms and try to save yourself. That's ridiculous! You would put on the parachute. It is the same with Jesus. You must trust Him as you trust the parachute. We are not good and we cannot save ourselves with our own goodness. Through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ!!!!✝️If you ask someone how to enter Heaven, they will most likely say, "Be a good person." Well the Bible says that none is good, no not one. We like to compare ourselves to guys like Hitler and say, "Hey, I'm a pretty good guy compared to him." But when we compare ourselves to God's standard, we realize that the Bible speaks truth when it says that we all sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God!!! When we see this ( our sin in its TRUE light), we see how much trouble we are in and we say, "Well then there's nothing I can do. I'm going to hell for sure then." It's true that there is nothing that WE can do, but there is something that has already been done for you! God sent His One and Only Son to die on a cross as a sacrifice for our sins! So to recieve that eternal sweet sweet forgiveness, all we must do is repent of our sins (meaning to continually turn from them and confess them) and trust alone in Christ as you trust a parachute. If I was to push you out of an airplane, you'd want the parachute for sure! Don't try to flap your arms and save yourself, trust in the parachute! His finished work on the Cross IS ENOUGH!! He is the only way to Heaven, He said it Himself!! These other religions teach that we must he good and do good things and then maybe if we've been good enough, we will enter Heaven. But if that is true then we are all doomed to eternal hell because none of us are good. That's why this makes sense. Look at the Ten Commandments, they are written on your heart right now!! I had to not eat for around 2 days for a colonoscopy. This is because I was at the hospital and I guess because of COVID they were busy so I had to wait a while to get my colonoscopy. The worst think is when you are hungry and you want to drink but the drink hurts because in the stomach is only water idk if i had only this but yea
When doing these kinds of fasts, it’s always important to understand the “why” factor behind it. For example - if someone wanted to lose a bunch of weight/little fat I wouldn’t recommend doing this fast due to you being able to lose water/fat consistently over a slower period of time by eating food… you’d be miserable basically. But if you are doing this with your “why” factor being to fight off disease and to heal your body, it makes the process you’re undergoing a lot more smoother. It’s really about your mind and reasoning behind why you’re doing it. I try and do a 4-5 day fast with only water, black coffee/tea throughout along with salt and electrolyte powder by LMNT.
