    Episode 72 Notes:
    Umrah Al Qadha
Previously, the Quraysh as per the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah had agreed to allow the Muslims to do Umrah the following year. So, in Dhul Qadah of 7AH, the Prophet SAW alongside 2000 Muslims left Medina for Makkah. They came armed and prepared just in case the Quraysh decide to renege on the Treaty.
When the Prophet SAW arrived outside the Makkah, he split the 2000 into two groups. 200 Muslims would stay with all of the weapons outside Makkah and the other 1800 led by the Prophet SAW, would enter Makkah and perform Umrah Al Qadha. This was done as a precaution because the Prophet SAW did not trust the Quraysh. However, the Quraysh honoured the Treaty. The Quraysh upon seeing the Muslims enter Makkah, kept to themselves. Some stayed inside for the entire 3 days, others gathered at the Qurayshi parliament and some of them even left Makkah and went to the outlying valleys until the Muslims were finished with Umrah Al Qadha.
Some of the Quraysh mocked the Muslims because they seemed thinner and weak. So the Prophet SAW told the Muslims to do several things to show the Quraysh are wrong, first he told the Muslims to raise their voices in Talbiyah, next he told them to show the right arms when doing Tawaf and he also told them to walk briskly when they do the Tawaf.
The Prophet SAW remained in Makkah for 3 days and everything was peaceful. During this time, the 200 Muslims who had waited outside Makkah and hadn’t done Umrah yet, swapped with 200 that had done Umrah. Also during this time, the Prophet SAW married Maymunah Bint Al Harith RA at Al Abbas RA’s recommendation. After the 3 days, the Quraysh told the Prophet SAW that it was time to leave. But, the Prophet SAW tried to request an extension on his stay, but they refused. Thus the Prophet SAW left Makkah and consummated his marriage to Maymunah RA outside Makkah.
As the Prophet SAW was about to depart Makkah, Umama Bint Hamza RA approached the Muslims, asking them to take her with them. Jaffar, Ali and Zayd Ibn Haritha RA argued, that each of them is more suitable to take care of her. Eventually, the Prophet SAW chose Jaffar RA as her guardian because he was married to Umama RA’s aunt.
The Last Batch of Converts Prior to Conquest of Makkah
Three major individuals were amongst the final people to accept Islam prior to the Conquest of Makkah. They are:
    - Amr Ibn Al As RA & Khalid Ibn Al Walid RA & Uthman Ibn Talha RA
Amr Ibn Al As RA had decided to leave Makkah post Umrah Al Qadha due to what he felt would be an eventual Muslim conquest of Arabia. He migrated to Abyssinia where he stayed with his companions. At the same time, the Prophet SAW had sent an emissary to Najashi, requesting that the Muslims migrate back to Medina.
But, Amr Ibn Al As RA requested that, the Najashi allow him to kill this emissary in order to earn a boasting right over the Quraysh. When the Najashi heard this, he had become enraged and gave dawah to Amr Ibn Al As RA to accept Islam. Surprised at the fact that, the Najashi had become a Muslim too, in such a far away land, decided right then and there to accept Islam.
Amr Ibn Al As RA returned to Arabia and on the outskirts of Makkah he met Khalid Ibn Al Walid RA and Uthman Ibn Talha RA. The pair informed him that, they were going to Medina to take their Shahadah. This was because Khalid RA after seeing the Muslim victories at Khandaq and Hudaybiyyah, realised that Islam must be the truth. It was Khalid RA who gave dawah to Uthman Ibn Talha RA. After hearing of this, Amr Ibn Al As RA joined them and together they all met the Prophet SAW and became Muslims.
Fun Trivia fact: Amr Ibn Al As was part of the delegation sent to convince the Najashi, to hand the Muslims who were in Abyssinia back to the Quraysh.
Fun Trivia fact: Its called Umrah Al Qadha because its like a the Muslims are making up for the Umrah, that they were unable to do the previous year.
Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAWs first Umrah was the Umrah of Hudaybiyyah. This is because Allah SWT gave the Prophet SAW, the reward of doing this Umrah.
Fun Trivia fact: Najashi is the Tabi’un who gave dawah to a Sahabi who is Amr Ibn Al As RA.

Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series:
Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series.
Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it.
You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes.
One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah.
Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

These lectures are very helpful and useful when learning seerah of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. The best thing i love about this series is that Dr. Yasir Yadkhi is very rational and smart. In addition every complex event is unravled and presented in an extremely simple and easy way.

The defensive positions of hiding in one's hone, evacuating to the country side, and gathering at the seat of government seem only logical upon the people of Madeenah doing a minor pilgrimage.
Maymunah dying last and being married to Prophet Muhammad last is an interesting detail; particularly that she was already a widow and lived for 53 more years.
I would not blame Ibn Abbas for the story going wrong, if narrations a hundred or so after his death are consulted instead of his writings. There is a difference between arranging a marriage (such as the suggestion of `Abbas would have started), getting
The Great Spirit in native cultures tends to refer to God instead of angels.
Najasi helping convert Amr ibn As when he didn't meet Prophet Muhammad and the later did is the type of phenomenon that would be expected with any large movement, but not that headed by a Prophet of Allah.
The case of what Prophet Muhammad offered upon the lesser pilgrimage is that of showing the side of Islam that personally appeals to individuals or groups is an important lesson for those preaching.

Assalamulaikum, I really love to listen this series of Seerah. May Allah give all His blessings to Shaikh Dr Yasir Qadhi. I have a little bit of query regarding the conversion of Uthman Ibn Talha (RA) that you mentioned in this series. Because his conversion is a big event that is related to the Key of Kabah and one verse of Quran. I am giving here the link of Mufti Menk
    czcams.com/video/ggt5FLVZZbo/video.html
where he describes the conversion of Uthman Ibn Talha (RA).
This post is not to raise a confusion and argument, rather as a learner we need to learn seerah and want to know which one is authentic? Zajak Allah fi khairan.
