Welding in the Military
By Charles Wheeler
Welders in the military play a special role in supporting our troops by fabricating specialized equipment and by making mission-critical field repairs. This session will provide an overview of the various types of welding being taught in the US Army. Attendees will gain insight into the numerous fabrications that welders in the military are required to make, repairs that they must be prepared to perform, and the types of metals that they must be proficient in welding. This session will also highlight the career opportunities that exist in the military for individuals with a welding background. This includes the opportunity to see the world while serving our country as an Allied Trades Specialist, and to be assigned to units with special welding requirements. - Věda a technologie
I think when he said it can be a difficult but also a great experience, I think it's spot on. I went in as a 44B before it changed to 91E, and I got out as a 91E. I can tell you that I had some really sh*tty times; I never encountered a warrant officer that knew a lick about welding, or any officer, or NCO for that matter, but they always knew how to do my job better than me lol. Subject matter experts don't exist when someone outranks you. However, some of the times I had both stateside and on deployment were some of the best times of my life.
I was always with an S&R section, so it was fun, and a soup sandwich at the same time.
Just be ready to make sh*t happen without having all the right tools, and or right equipment.
This actually really excited me. I was welding in a technical campus for a year, so i know some of the things already, and ive been considering this MOS greatly. And seeing this video answered alot of questions for me.
Very hard to hear...

Can I apply even if I'm not American? But I'm a welder certified with Nc2 certificate
no lol you can be a contractor though make more money
I believe if you become a citizen you can. Keep in mind they often have much stricter background checks and whatnot for non-naturalborn citizens.
