I hope the metal community pulls together and makes this album a best seller. I'm not sure we'll ever see something like this happen again in our lifetime.
I'll definitely be buying this album, as DT is one of my favorite melodic death metal bands.
It would be at least a great thing to outsell the last in flames records xD

1) ironically, melodic death metal was itself a fusion genre
2) it's not fusing genres that makes new in flames suck - it's the fact that their music isn't good. well-written songs that don't concern themselves with genre boundaries are some of the best material in metal
3) good albums which are purely melodic death metal have been coming out for years, are bands like Insomnium or Be'lakor a joke to you?
I'm prepared to make financially unwise decisions to support this band in any way I can.

What I think is most amazing about this band is that Jesper Strömblad is back in game making music with his old friends

Dude, you are so right. I cannot believe that didn't occur to me. So much nostalgia. I don't know if you saw the rooftop concert. But the last song was called "In Broken Trust" and features a clean chorus from Stanne. It reminded me of something from Stabbing The Drama by Soilwork.
And obviously, Days of The Lost sounds like it could have been written for the Colony album by In Flames
It's so funny that every song by now Is better than all of the songs of moment.
I'm a huge dt/Mikael fan but moment was such a weak album, quality music but where is the death in the album? It's 90% melodic
@@gaymohammed3137 I'm not sure why Failstate has been getting so little love. Such an absolute banger, it stands right up there, towering over the rest of the album. It's Atoma-the song- in many ways, but intense through and through. And, somehow, it wasn't deemed worthy to be played live last month when I saw them.
That's why The Halo Effect got me excited. It seems they can't go wrong with their setlist.

Meh, if you take off the nostalgia goggles for a minute, it's really not that amazing. Pretty good, but there are better albums. Soilwork released a way better album this year for example.

Scandinavian have the most best melodic death metal bands ever. Here, it's a mix between Dark Tranquillity & In Flames & it sounds very good with M.Stanne & his legendary voice.

Nope! It's basically good melodeath stuff, of course- but an allstar project. Well known riffs and sequences, from (old) In Flames and Dark Tranquillity records.
That's solid( with a bit copy/paste), not more.
I listen to my Dark Tranquillity, early In Flames material, no urgent need for that supergroup. If they're surprising with thrash metal or death doom, ok- it would be something new, from the melodic death pioneers. So i'm just waiting for a new DT (or At the Gates) release, prefering the originals! Btw: Honestly, In Flames wasn't the same, after soundtrack to your escape. Sad, but bands changes sometimes!
Finally, i appreciate good music, otherwise there is no reason for me, to buy an upcoming The Halo Effect album. I stick with DT or In Flames "The jester race/Whoracle/Colony/Clayman"-nostalgica.

Underrated member here is Niclas Engelin. Loved the band Engel, and he was in Gardenian, and of course touring guitarist for In Flames after Jesper left

I know that the current music industry trends dictates that every song should be released as a single, but I miss the time when I could listen to an album as a whole for the first time and discover every surprise that it holds. Of course I could do the same as well here, but I'm just so excited for this band that I cannot wait for the album to be released if there is a new single :D
