Best tree house ever built was around a massive Redwood, the deck suspended by huge cables up into the trees. It was off Polo Drive in Aptos back in the 80s. We lived on Polo Drive in Aptos and Bob and Julie Wider were our neighbors. Then they decided to build the ultimate tree house to live in. To say it was gorgeous is an understatement. And nothing like the aroma of being in the trees, I can still remember the smell of the trees. A little scary after an earthquake, that's for sure. They'd had their first baby there. Wish the tree house was still there today like I picture it in my head, good memories.
B4 anyone gets too excited about this, be aware that the sanitary facilities are down on the ground in a seperate structure, at the end of a lengthy bridge - there is a shower, composting toilet and lav, but... no shades on the windows, so it's all la natural, folks! Be sure you take care of all the basics B4 climbing that ladder!!!

Can you give some recommendations (and maybe a video) on how you guys research the places you visit to find the cool, non-touristy things to see? Like the camel beauty pagent for example or other off the beaten path but definitely worth seeing places? Thanks!

I hiked through Muir Woods last year and I will never forget what it smelled like. Those redwood forests are incredible.
