    The host of this video was saying, when you are from the West, people will ask for a selfie. That's not always true. I am a Pilipino, I visited Ellora Cave and Ajunta Cave last year. I had countless pictures taking with groups, Families and group of guys. They even asked me if I am available to attend their wedding. Not only that, it also includes accommodations. One of the guy also asked the type of job I do. I was traveling alone, they sensed that it was a precious moment for a busy person for some solitary time. BTW I am already 74 YO. It shows that Indian people love their fellow men. I really enjoy traveling to India.

    My first day in India was in Bangalore. I arrived with my wife (though at the time we did not advertise that) and our two young kids 2 and 6. When we arrived at the airport 12 hours late due to chaos in the UK our driver was there, he had waited all night for us. It was a tsunami of sights and sounds. I was in culture shock for 2 weeks, luckily we stayed for 2 plus months and once I got my feet under me I feel in love with India as did my whole family.

      Hi Laura. We are planning to go to India with my wife and young son (almost 3 years old). Many people told me it is quite dirty and it's a chaos. How did you feel travelling with young kids? Did you go to the north as well? Thank you!

    • @nya5934
      @nya5934 Před 4 lety +2

      @@michelsordou It is pretty dirty but that shouldn't stop you from visiting. It is a myriad of cultures and locations, and an amalgam of flavors which burst in your mouth! I would recommend visiting the mountains of India (Dalhousie), but don't go to Shimla, as beautiful as it may be, because that location is dangerous due to war between Pakistan and India. Go to Rajasthan (camels, desert, palaces, colorful cities, and delicious foods), visit Punjab (Yummy food, beautiful locations, a lot of villages, farms, friendly locals...and did I mention AMAZING food?) -- Also, see the Golden Temple (made of real gold), visit Delhi (Red fort, parliament house, drink the milk from the mud pot thing, etc), Agra (Taj Mehal), Varanasi (oldest city, Ganges river), Hyderabad (Ganges river and beautiful locations). Try going to South India (Kerela, Tamal Nadu, etc.), and visit places like Bangalore! Just make sure to not eat food from the stalls outside, unless you see them clean everything themselves, or ask them to clean the dishes before you decide to eat anything. But that is not to say that all stalls are bad. Just be careful when making decisions. The food is really yummy. I love the food! Try going to dhabbas in Punjab, and Haveli, because that is a must, and definitely try sweet lassi or mango lassi, and definitely try the stall food at some point of your trip, because what's the point of going to India if you don't try the street food at-least once! Just heed with caution. Other than that, try to visit basically the most tourist places, because those ones are usually the safest and cleanest. Ask the locals about the places that you should visit (taxi drivers, etc.) They will give you great tips, unless they are trying to loot you out of your money. But since you are a tourist, and are there to see their culture and country, they will most likely give you phenomenal locations to visit, because they are proud of their culture and they pride themselves in their history. The one advice I have however, is NOT to use the trains as a form of transportation! The trains are disgusting and smell really bad. I recommend flights. Don't take normal trains -- please; I ask of this for your kids, if not for yourself. Use the more expensive option for trains, if you must travel by that form of transportation. Flights can be expensive but at least they are clean and don't have mice. :) Other than that, I hope you enjoy India!

I was on a multi week trip India recently too and we also had the 15mins of fame with the locals who want our photographs everywhere we went (esp my Caucasian friends - I'm Asian myself though I still received requests for photos). It is true, just day 1 in India and you already know that it is a country unlike any other you've visited. From the masala chai to the cows and elephants (and beyond as they Vagabrothers would show you in later episodes I'm sure), you'll be blown away by the culturally rich nation!

    I think that India is an exotic destination. When we see travel films in India, like the movie Eat, Pray and Love,
    it's always linked with religion.
    Religious tourists go on pilgrimages to holy sites. Sometimes, they are looking for holy men or internal peace. Indian culture is carried by some religious aspects.
    Like the video shows its streets are possible to see sacred cows walking through traffic and to see men taking a shower in some river. Furthermore, a indian culture has many years of history
    and a gorgeous and diferrent architectural style. In this city they also have a different program, like camel festival, a holy ceremony connected with camel trading. One of the most interesting things that i saw is an procession of elephants in tourist places or walking by the streets. These elephants carry people and into a fortress, called Amer Fort.
