- Joe sits down with Neil deGrasse Tyson and they get into the real conversation: Multiverse. Neil has a background in astrophysics, so he certainly knows what he's talking about.
Neil deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist, director of the Hayden Planetarium ar the American Museum of Natural Histroy, and host of "StarTalk Radio." His newest book, "Starry Messenger Cosmic Perspectives on Civilization," is available now.

What do you think? Multiverse or no?
Multiverse👍
There's no equation saying there is a multiverse.
My gut tells me that scientists are in denial about some of these much older galaxies much further back in time than the big bang can represent accurately. I know what I'm reading and i know what this data is showing. The scientists will be proven wrong this time. The big bang is an illusion or an incorrect theory, I don't think they are going to be able to "build upon the foundations of the big bang" this time
Yeah..it would make zero sense if we were to think there is a multiverse. Everything on earth has something in common and is always found in a known area or source... so if anything was possible it would be a planet that is already close to the sun that would already be providing life form. That is the only logical way
sorry i do astrology i dont believe in astrophicisists
Love me some Neil/Joe talks!
What episod is this? Plz 🙏
Where could I find the full video?
Spotify
It's free
What episod is this?
Is there a full video where i can watch it for free?
Spotify.
The sound is too low, bring it up in the future, just a friendly advice.
I'm trying to think through it. Didn't string theorists create the multiverse to make the math work? But on the flip side I guess it proves it because the math works. 🤔💖
Great question and thinking. But, physicists and mathematicians acknowledge that mathematics do not necessarily represent the physical world-although it often can. Sometimes, the mapping of the math onto the physical world is off-and we get competing interpretations.
Multiverse is actually religious belief. While the have math that could describe a multiverse,, none of it has any correspondence to the real world, and you have to bend over backwards with the math to FORCE it to work. It's totally fine and legit if anyone believes in the multiverse, at the same time that also makes it faith, which is also your own right to believe or not believe.
@@Elayzee huh?
Sheldon....
How is conservation of energy dealt with within a multiverse of infinite universes?
If there isn't a planet besides earth providing life then earth is the only one
God spoke and Bang !!!
Watching a discussion with Neil Degrasse Tyson about the universe expanding, how light from distant galaxies is and that there are infinite universes. Here is part of my reply.
Yet, we have no real proof of any of this. I remember scientists saying the universe was shrinking, then expanding, then 20 years ago shrinking and now in the last 10 years expanding again. Just like some scientists believe the universe is cooling down while others say it's heating up.
So if the universe is still expanding, then the question is "What is the universe expanding into?" In order for something to expand it must have room to expand into, so what is beyond these universes? What is controlling all of the expansions so each universe does not collide with the others? What is causing these expansion to occur at a predictable rate and how are we measuring the expansions of these other universes?
As for infinite universes there is no scientific proof. It is a hypothesis that not all scientists agree with. We also have no way to measure the age of light. How can we say light is over 84 billions of years old? Because you say the universe is that old? But wait, some text books says the universe is only 40 billions of years old. How was light here 44 billions of years before the universe? Dr Stephen Curran, who is suppose to be the world's most famous scientist on this subject say the Big Bang only occured 13.8 billion years ago, huge discrepancy.
If we are really seeking scientific proof and follow the actual rules of science none of this is true. We have no way to determine the age of the universe. We have no way to measure the age of light. We have no way to tell if there are infinite universes. We have no way to prove the Big Bang. We have no real way to prove anything that falls under humanistic Evolution.
Neil Degrasse Tyson and other scientists are lying to people - and they knows this but that is where the money is. Don't support this humanistic ideology and you don't get millions of dollars. This is no more than using circular reasoning and not real scientific proof. As the saying goes "keep telling the lie and some people will believe it".
So what are the bases of scientific truths. Remember we learned this in Jr. high, High School and College?
The scientific method has five basic steps, plus one feedback step:
1. Make an observation.
2. Ask a question.
3. Form a hypothesis, or testable explanation.
4. Make a prediction based on the hypothesis.
5. Test the prediction.
Iterate: Use the results to make new hypotheses or predictions. If still fails or can not be tested it is considered false.
Seems Evolution and it's branches does steps 1-3 but forgets the other 2 steps and feedback.
Well apparently the cern collider in 2008 knocked us out of our universe into another multiverse that is the same but not our original universe we started in. Apparently that’s what the mandela effect is from. Also why everything is so crazy now and unexpected
Can you qualify your claims? Any proof? Or is this just an assumption you're making? First time I'm hearing this. I'm skeptical of your statement. Maybe you can present some facts that can convince me.
the facts are in the other universe DUH haha. but i feel cern is doing some weird stuff but asking for proof is fair. if i was you id just look into all the weird stuff about cern. they open wormholes with a statue of the destroyer of worlds outside their organization, they invite satanists to come play music there while the machines operate....... did they quantum jump us? idk, but they certainly entertain evil forces@@surreshguhan6033
So when the hindu vedas were saying that we're living in a multiverse, we were being superstitious?
This one will age fine like wine🍷
Western fools
...would say my first memories "support" multiverse........I guess......, I remember my 'consciousness/soul' reaching this body with 4yo.........plus all the atemporal & future memories, about random things, I already came with‽...
(basically I watched myself from a first person - out of body perspective on various situations in that age before actually start living......., near life experience(‽))
🤕
Using lots of cocaine lately?
Einstein was wrong about gravity.
gravity is wrong about space. just give them time.... neil wouldnt believe what happens, but were all here to learn.

Joe loves having Tyson on. He gets high AF so when he talks it sounds like he is trying to say something profound. Joe could be wanting to just say, "I want pizza"
lol
The big bang is as naive as the biblical theory of creation. Dont know which one is worse.
Could that explain deja vu? Cus I had one like a day ago and I had to convince myself it didn’t happen
God always was, always is, and always will be. If Neil is right, is it so far fetched to believe we were created by a greater being who obviously existed well before us and will continue to after his poem is complete?
