This channel takes me back to when i was growing up with all this retro goodness, its amazing how far we have come, I remember how excited i was when i got my first game boy! There is something about the world of retro game technology that will always have a place in my heart. I love how the mintyPi Lite is in an Altoids box! Thank you for this amazing opportunity. Good luck to everyone :)
Honestly I can't say anything special I haven't been watching for 4 years since your first vid, but since I found your channel I've fallen in love with it and this is my favorite project of yours by far and I have wanted a mintyPi for a long time but never had the extra money to buy one and I would love to own one if I don't win I would still like to say thank you and helder for making wonderful community projects
I’ve always been intrigued in these type of things. I used to take a Caddare class that used a soldering iron and I’ve just been interesting in what I could do. Unfortunately, I don’t have the tools at home to do this, so I’d appreciate it if I get this. A man could only hope to win...
@@noahralston2198 You get the raspberry pi 0. You can get them on Amazon for about 5 to 10$ in the US. Or at microcenter for 5$ And then you download retropie.
Hey I was wondering if you could do some kind of video explaining what the parts are for these kind of things so you could make your own custom one and just know what to get and how to put it together without a guide
My button pcb came with the function button and adapter for the battery already attached. Unfortunately I couldn’t get my hands on an official battery so it doesn’t help me to have it attached. I figured out that you can just solder the wires for the battery to the pins on each end of the connector because they connect directly to ground and positive and luckily this worked
Finished building my minty pi lite a few days ago and waited for the software. Finally have the image and everything works great.. except trying to get on the WiFi and transfer roms. That’s the only struggle I’m really having
Something I've always wondered is if there's a way to make a Pi-based system that has A B C X Y Z inputs similar to the Sega Genesis. I'm not an electronics expert, but based on the size of the input board, I can tell it'll take up a little more space just for the extra buttons alone
Like, for a total beginner.. from a to z on this project, how difficult is it to actually build this and upload games? And what is the overall cost? Thank you for anybody responding to this.. I'm fascinated by this retro kind DIY Gameboy project 🙏😃
Can anyone explain the speaker part to me? First time doing anything like this and im not sure I understand what he did with the wire when connecting the speaker to the pcb
The mobile link for the blogpost is messed up. It keeps saying there was an error and there's random text all over the screen. It works perfectly fine on my computer, though.
I’ve always wondered this for creators who design things like this, but did you go to college to learn this stuff? I’m really interested in this career path.
Can you make a video where you show how to actually load games onto it. I have mine built and although I do enjoy looking at the main menu, I can't actually put games on it and most tutorials are for the raspberry pi 3, so that's not useful.
You could easily transfer games onto the SD card by plugging it to your laptop/desktop and moving over your roms into the correct folders. If you would rather transfer roms via internet (easier option) you could check out wermy's mintyPi v3 FaQ where he goes over how to transfer roms through the internet.
I want to verify so I successfully signed up to get one. I did my email and name, and I followed you on all the things it said, so did I successfully sign up?
Can't believe it's been over 4 years since this channel started been here since the start and love it keep it up thanks

Great vid!
The pin hole in question:🔥🔥
Yessss finally I am so excited
it's best to clean up even "no clean" flux as well as you can with some alcohol (and absolutely necessary with normal flux - it's very corrosive)
Excellent tutorial and giveaway 🙃🤞

Hey, has anybody ordered a new PCB kit since the waitlist has been active? If so, how long would you have to wait to depend on when you ordered it?
When will V3 3d printed parts be available for purchase again?
Very good video 👍
Love love love!!!
What temperature for the soldering iron? Sowwy it's my first time
Have you thought about making a full-fledged DS Pi?
That would be so cool!
Wow so cool!!!
I'd really love one since i don't have any soldering tools or flux to build one of my own
Very cool!
This is so cool!!!!

Hi, I was wondering if you guys stopped making the PCBs or will they be back in stock?
The mobile link for the blogpost is messed up. It keeps saying there was an error and there's random text all over the screen. It works perfectly fine on my computer, though.

I wonder what's next for the mintyPi? mintyPi v4? mintyPi cm3? mintyPi XL (in a 10 oz altoids tin)? Who knows, but whatever it is, it'll be awesome.
I’ve always wondered this for creators who design things like this, but did you go to college to learn this stuff? I’m really interested in this career path.
I have been watching for years
Is there a kit or something you can buy?
Can you change the ui style to the other ones you can download?
Sweet!
How do you add games? I've been trying for an hour and can't figure it out
How do i practice soldering for this?
"Not super narrow but definitely not very thick either"
