Kevin Nguyen I remember him saying this, but I'm also talking about suspension, breaks, drive train, etc. Then again they also said the stock setup is fine, so who knows. Mainly I'd like to see more videos of Gramps or other low budget builds like the Blue Turd videos :P
More performance? with that vinyl it has at least 350HP at the wheels, even gramps would be scared.

I hate how half the comments are "why aren't you doing this", "why ARE you doing this", "do this instead", "this would've been better", etc. It's Moog's car. Let him do whatever he wants to do to it. I think it looks great. None of you guys giving "suggestions" understand how annoying it is when people tell you how to build your own car. I personally think he should get to appreciate the NA feeling of this beautiful machine for a while. S2000s weren't built for going fast on straight aways. If you've ever driven one, you'll know they're a driver's car. And the magic of the machine is that they have very powerful and strong 2.0L NA engines and they're light as hell. I think that's why he's not boosting it immediately. Cause you really have to appreciate the most unique and amazing thing about the car before you take that away all for speed.
Love the color you choose for the S2000 great color and looks sweet in the sunny days down under. Love the videos,the mods, and the sense of humor. You are the best MCM!!!!

I'm a professional painter, and I want to know....
Who is taking a couple of WEEKS to do a paint job?!
I pump out 2-4 cars every day. The only exception is if I have to do door jambs, under the hood, under the trunk lid, etc.... but they didn't do the jambs with wrap, so that really doesn't matter.
If it took us weeks to paint a car, we would go out of business so quickly. =P
Yes - But how long does it take to prep each car? This as you would know is where the time delay comes from, and what they were referring to.
I can guarantee you don't get a car delivered in the morning, prep it, paint it and ship it out that night.
From the time that a car is placed in my paint shop, I have to get it prepped, sprayed, baked, and over to detail. So, yes, we finish it that day. The only hold up, is if the customer wants the body shop to do repairs before it comes to me I the paint shop. For a car like this S2000, where no body work was done, I would have to get it out the same day. Management wants us to move a minimum of two cars per day.
So what you'r saying is. your establishment does absolute shit paint jobs. Got it.

If you and you alone were painting a car for a customer who put his heart and soul into building it you would never expect to get that car in and out in a day. Like 2-5 days of prep, especially for a dark color, overnight to cure the primer/basecoat, overnight to cure color, weekend to cure second color coat, overnight to cure clear coat, inspect and touch up defects, overnight cure again, then wait a week for the paint to really cure. Find a way to do that in a day and I'll gladly give you triple the $5000 I've been quoted by painters who do it right. This IS NOT to say you as an individual are a bad painter but it is to say your management is in it to make money and not to produce show quality work.
Richard Cornford My dad's company where i work spend's 2 day's prepping and painting Wheel's i you're saying you do it in a day that's go t to be a bad paint job. and 3-4 if not 6 for refurbished wheel's.

I am on my 4th Honda at the moment and love the brand! My mates don't 'get' the whole vtec thing..until they drove one and realised the fun to be had! Your s2000 is very nice and the colour is perfect. Good work guys. Keep up the videos! From Alastair in Scotland :)

血Saiko kiddo lol so misinformed their are many people who have been and still are daily driving rx7 fd with 0 issues to date just takes routine maintenance like changing oil and spark plugs also dont drive like a gma everywhere and it will run just fine. i know of several people who daily drive rx7 fd for 2-6 years between them with no issues yet
KCstreetRacing That's absolute bull shit. The rotary is a racing engine, not a street engine, it sucks in that aspect, which is why they discontinued it.

***** I think its because its a bit out of their league. I have never seen someone do a even half decent job wrapping their car unless it was done by professionals.
I don't really think a vinyl wrap is something you should do yourself in your driveway anyway. There's just some things you leave to a professional, and body wrapping is one of them...

His car isn't turbo charged. The more air an engine can get the better. So that inlet is just to let more air into the engine to cool it off and/or boost performance a little.

They were never going to be able to teach you how to wrap a car (unless you want a shit job with wrinkles and bubbles in it). Just like they can't teach you how to professionally prep and paint a car.

Not sure why they flew someone in from another city. Not sure why it then took that person 24 hours of working (with assistance from people) to get the car done, without fitting everything back on the car.

I'm so glad these guys are building a Honda. So many biased, fanboy jerks bagging on Hondas. Brings them all to the light. I get excited anytime I see a modified car of any kind that holds any merit in the car community. The rest of these guys are just brand fanboys. I'm tired of it.

For everyone that's upset about how the honda build has been too "fast and furious" just look at it from a show car stand point. I feel like if most of us saw this at a meet we would be pretty impressed with the way it looks. Personally I'm a function over form guy but I've enjoyed the honda build because they went a different direction, keeping the content fresh. Great video guys!

i dont think there was any labor cost because the guy that helped them is also apart of just car insurance. plus the point of the car build has something to do with just car insurance.
Well here in norway its not cheap its about 5000 aud. Would be fun to hear what it cost
I did the entire car myself for about $500 in materials... but it's a bitch of a job. (Also a litte rough in areas, but happy for a first attempt by myself. A second pair of hands would have definitely been a huge help on the job)
I got rear ended a while back and my panel beater got the rear bumper, boot and rear fascia wrapping outsourced and said it cost him $1600. He said there wouldn't be much difference between a full wrap and a basic paint job.
firecrakka I'd say cheaper to paint when done properly. Benefit is that you can pull the wrap off.
Yeah... it's cheaper for a basic respray.
Biggest issue with the wrap is although it protects the paint to some degree. The little marks and scratches can't be buffed out.
Quick question. Did you ever consider using Plasti Dip?
***** Not really, plasti dip thrives on being DIY, much more DIY friendly then wrapping or painting.
don't think they can get plastidip in australia due to shipping concerns, specifically the dipyourcar colors/pearls. hell people in california can't even get it.

Gee Zed Eee Power Lately there's been quite a few ebay sellers putting 4 packs up for $50 with $10 postage to anywhere in Australia. Thats a whole lot better than the $25 a can we pay in stores.
I can sincerely say that I am a huge fan of you guys and love this build, I just really hope it doesnt take months to get to these "next nuggets"

I'd love an S2000 as my next car, currently running and modding a 2003 EP2 1.6 iVTec Civic and it's a blast just adding little bits here and there as I go. Love the way the engine works, can roll around in 5th at 25mph saving fuel or take it to 60+ in third and the engine just takes it in its stride!

***** haha old video, IC pump was gone which pretty much halved the power as the SC disengages but it's a $200 fix and now it runs like a BEAST!! Just did decat and straight pipe, gonna put a video up, it's DEAFENING now.

I've wrapped cars, full Transit wraps, etc. and believe me, this bubble free vinyl is a piece of cake to fit compared to what was used only a few years ago.
Love the colour though, got some sitting in my room somewhere.

For anyone wondering, if you go to a proper shop that specializes in vinyl wrapping, they are gonna charge almost as much as a paint job. The materials themselves aren't expensive, but it is time consuming as hell. So what you are essentially playing for is not only the labor, but also the knowledge of how to do this properly. It's a pretty new thing in mainstream applications, and not many can do it yet.
Love the matte metallic blue, seen it on a few cars and it's a great colour.
