The Honda Ford fusion tribute
More like the Honda Jetta.
I think I'm in the minority but I like that clean, minimalistic styling both inside and out on the new Accord.
This seems to be a theme with Honda as of late. Less power, less performance, unless you want to spend 44,000 on a type R.
correction! 44,000 *above* msrp on a type-R. be sure to put a red v-tec sticker on it. makes it go fast.
Type R is 75k
44k for a Type R? If that existed I wouldve already got one 🤣
@@5.0cs_Brandon In Japan it’s 38k
@@SuperSymbol Looks like its time to move to Japan 🔰
Oh look, it's the Honda Impala!!!
🤣
😂😂😂
honda impala taurus
@@glendavid3648 true 😂
@@glendavid3648 glad it's not just me thinking Taurus! Haha
Inexcusable not to have rear seat vents on the largest and most spacious mid-sized sedan Honda has ever made, in any trim level. That being said, if Rati was right and this does do 0-60 in 6.2 s then that's almost as fast as my old V6 9th gen sedan. Kudos.
It does have rear vents. Did I miss something?
@@Radykall1 i think only the touring version has the rear vents.
Accord enthusiasts, I feel for you guys, get your 2.0T while you can!
Got mine right any the end of 2022. Worth
Lol F that I got my 9th gen with the v6
Got mines last May and thank god I got it.
Cars enthusiasts crying that they won’t be able to waste money on fuel with this gen
This. I see me keeping my 2020 Sport 2.0T for a long, long while.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BLAND HONDA!!!!!
Classy is never bland
I really want a 2023 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid. ❤
I thought one of goals for Honda was to attract younger buyers?
Kind of hard to do when they only use old men making their final decisions for them. God this accord is so ugly vs last gen. I’m so sad
@@user-xf5dj1up8g Yeah last gen looked so much better. The taillights were ugly on the last one but somehow, they screwed them up even more with this gen.
This looks more like a Ford Taurus redesign.
Personally I think it's ugly. The Civic design (especially the hatchback) looks so much better which the Accord should have topped. Not feeling it.
Great review. Thank you!
With the sedan being offered by even less brands, this doesn't look like it's doing enough to keep the sedan alive. The 44mpg is nice with the fuel costs averaging around $3.50 and that's with the ups and downs. But that's about it. Just another box, a well made box being Honda, but it's either needing to be a more sporty sedan or an SUV to get the attention of today's consumer.
A lot of people just want to buy a reliable and "affordable" applaince to get them from point A to B.
@@briangasser973 OK? What's wrong with that? Not everything has to be sporty.
Yet most consumers didn't buy the 2.0t, only 15% of buyers got that engine and with high gas prices it would be even less enticing, most enthusiasts care more about handling than performance anyway there are much better options for that
CVT.
No 2.0T.
Hmm……
Lame car
@@little123456788 yes. Makes the Camry look a lot better than it did a month ago.
Just picked up a touring and love it EXCEPT the lack of a garage door opener button! I didn’t even think to ask. Tried to program the opener and couldn’t find the button. Unreal.
a face only a mother could love and it has sleepy eyes for headlights.
Your description would fit well when describing most Lexus and Toyota models I think.
If the new Camry looks like the new Prius, the Camry will literally crush the Accord.
I 100% agree that the next gen Camry has the potential to completely be a better buy than this latest Accord. An AWD Hybrid Camry with a refresh everywhere else could make the Accord a tough sell in all markets.
The new Prius is still just as ugly 😂
@@user-xf5dj1up8g Get your eyes checked.
It won't take much to out do the exterior design of this gen Accord, it's a huge downgrade from last gen
The Camry already crushes the accord. Hybrid, Sport. TRD, AWD, panoramic roof etc etc. They used to sell equally and now the Camry far outsells it.
No spare tire and no Universal HomeLink. Honda cutting cost where it matters 👎 And what is up with Honda and Toyota taking away driver side map pocket? How much cost are they really saving? 🥴
I think its gonna age really bad compared to previous Accords
The way Hondas streamlining things reminds me of their 90’s cars. Honda took themselves pretty seriously back then and they’re starting to do that again and it shows in my opinion
I agree
I would like to know your driving impressions of this 2023 Honda Accord vs. the 2023 Toyota Crown vs the 2023 Toyota Prius in terms of driving dynamics, efficiency and road noise both in the city and highway.
I really love it especially better than the previous models. I just love the simplicity of the design! Nothing over the top. Sweet and simple! That's more my style! 👌
No interior cabin ambient light, no folding side mirRors, no 360° camera, no panoramic roOf….for $40k…I am going to wait on the REFRESH in 2026
I like it better than the past generations. Coming from an 09 owner
Smoking
Hideous design language; Honda's design engineers are lacking talents. The ONLY model that seems to grab attention is the new HR-V period! Everything else is boxy!
Y would they make the front look like a Ford Taurus n fusion
Those new taillights look like a Lincoln Aviator. I like it
Excellent review. You and Doug DeMuro are in a class by yourselves when it comes to imparting the most info in the shortest amount of time. Well done!
Kirk and Doug are great! Alex on Autos is also a great channel you might enjoy :)
@@brettfleming5921 will give him a look. Thanks for the recommendation.
It seems like honda was trying so hard to compete with the Germans that they didn't even try
Still an amazing car regardless
It's much more reliable than the Germans.
Honda is massively successful, so I'm sure it's doing something right.
The Accord has been outselling all the Germans, including the Passat and other cars in its class, by a landslide for decades.
I’ll keep my 21 Touring 2.0T. With the new touring reaching almost $40k I don’t see value in the new generation accord, sure the interior is updated but does it justify the price hike? I don’t think so, I’d take the rear end over the previous generation but I prefer the previous front end. A bose audio system and larger infotainment display is nice but the previous generation gauge cluster is better. No pano roof either or 360 camera it’s not a necessity but for that price it’s disappointing not to have it. Honda hybrids seem to also underperform on their MPG as advertised I can achieve 33-37 MPG in my 2.0T on the highway only downside is city driving but I’d rather have the extra power. Overall I think it’s underwhelming.
Why do people announce this, as if everyone should care?
2.0 is not a necessary either but here we are.
@@EchoAccord Why do you criticize someone who likes their 2.0T, "as if everyone should care"? Hypocrite.
I agree with you. I love my '21 Touring 2.0T. Such a complete car. Does almost everything well, with plenty of power to boot. The extra fuel economy in the '23 isn't worth sacrificing the incredible driving experience of the 2.0T package to me personally. To each his own though, as I'm sure the new Hybrid will sell well.
48MPG on hybrid
Hello Kirk! I enjoyed this review and learning more about this Accord. Technology and comfort wise how does this compare with 2022 Avalon? I'll come back on Feb 7th to ask if you think it's a better drive than Avalon. Because right now I somewhat regret my purchase of 2022 Avalon Hybrid XSE.
Don’t get the touring. Get the Acura TLX base way more luxurious and has the 2.0 liter turbo.
Yep. It's just what, $18,000 more than my 2020 Sport 2.0T was?
I was surprised that the Sport L didn't have rear vents. Wonder if EXL is the same.
They went from a V6 to a Turbo 4 to a naturally aspirated 4 with electric assist. Will miss the turbo 2litre 4. People loved that engine, now it is almost 2 seconds slower to 60.
@Fahrvergnugen Fr. First they complain about Honda stepping away from high reving NA 4cyls, now they're crying cuz they're actually going back to that concept
The accord was never about how fast you can reach 60mph. People don’t care about it. If you want speed get the 2.0t with the 10 speed but other then that it’s just an affordable midsize sedan
@@mattmekhaeil Bruv they literally made a Type R and two EuroRs. They've always been sportier sedans until the 9th gen. Makes sense too since Honda wanted to hang with the Europeans which they ultimately failed at
@@skythundersky1544 Honda never wanted to hang with the Europeans 💀. That was never the case. That’s what Acura is for
@@skythundersky1544 Then get a type r civic
It's ... "OK" ...at best. Like the interior and dash, not feeling the exterior at ALL. Will probably keep my 2020 Sport 2.0T for a long time.
Right. Can i get the interior on the 2020 sport please???
still hoping that camry will adopt crown's design and the new mazda 6 will be lit if it based on new CX60-90
Very nice design!!!
thats a Chevy Malibu with ugly rims. Im sticking with a non CVT 2022 Accord 2.0
Is it possible to get rid of the side-panel in the infotainment display and make Google Maps go fullscreen? Also, in your driving impressions video, could you possibly show off the built-in streaming music apps like CZcams Music or Spotify on the car?
Que hermoso Auto..por favor ..lo mejor ..me encantaría ver el video del Accord V6..gracias.saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷
design is tepid n no 2.0 turbo is huge disappoint
Comparing this to a Ford and a GM product is blasphemous!! It's 2023 and still no panoramic sunroof? Goodbye, Honda! ✌🏾
Looks like a grandpa sedan
I'm going to have to look at it in person. I didn't care much for the 10th gen, but it grew on me.
Hondas do tend to look better in person...this one however, I'm not sure. I'll save final judgment until I actually see one.
@@brassrox same
Same. People also knocked on the 2.0T replacing the v6, but quickly turned in favor of the 4cyl. I think people will be shocked when they drive the hybrid, assuming it’s tuned with some performance in mind. Full power available at all RPM’s trumps turbo lag IMO.
My dad has a 10th gen 2.0t and it’s so fun to drive
What about ambient light??
I'd rather the TLX at this price point
For 39k, you can get an Integra A-Spec with Technology. Might not be as big but definitely worth the cost
If you can fit into it, have at it.
@@Dis2good it’s not as fuel efficient as accord hybrid touring and has CVT instead of eCVT(which is better), unless you want 6 speed manual.
@@blackwhirlwind1245 yeah. It’s a personal preference. For me, 6 speed manual and more fun to drive (and better looking). Fuel economy is secondary to me.
@@mgp9733 i own a TLX and love it 👍🏻
When I saw the sticker I wish the local stealership here in North Carolina would sell it at that price. They are wanting about $3000 over sticker for ones here. I want to buy one but never at that much.
I’m glad I have a 21 Touring 2.0T.
Its perfect
Believe it or not, the lack of fog lights is a deal breaker for me.
Thanks for the video. what music is this at the end of the video ? the B Roll..
The best design ever created in the history of Honda Accords was years 2013-2017.
They need to update the configurator soon. No interior view mode or options show to get a good idea how the entire thing looks specced out
I'm curious about some of the smaller details on the technology that I haven't heard about yet. The Sirius XM app appears to be no longer offered as an audio feature on any Accord model, but they have Alexa built-in. The Trims and Specs page on the Honda web site no longer lists Sirius XM as a feature. Do Sirius XM subscribers need to use Alexa to connect to Sirius XM now? Or is it no longer available? Also, am curious about the loss of the three garage remote buttons. Are they truly gone, or just more discrete in the new design?
I just got one of these, with the Platinum White. I love it, except for the black running strips - the car would look so much better if it was all white.
So does the google maps show you traffic too or do you have to use android auto or apple carplay for that?
HONDA ,WHY ART THOU KILL THE 2.0 T and 10 speed trans 😔
I stopped at “No Spare Tire”. I know this is the trend but you can keep your car Honda. I'm not going to deal with trying to fix a flat at night in the Winter especially in “middle of nowhere Wyoming”. Changing a tire is relatively quick and easy in comparison.
they want other brands sell more sedans :D
I´m impressed, it´s a good Honda 👍, thanks Kirk.
Kirby-ball I’d put out the Accord Organ Accordion model. It comes with an organ and accordion in the trunk so YOUS can pipe in church music.
I'm just impressed knowing that a manufacturer made a genuine effort to develop a mature, attractive, efficient, practical and reliable sedan for the year 2023 rather than bringing us yet another crossover to add to the list of five thousand other crossovers.
Should have a hatch like civic
Nice but about 40k, hope they release a gas model sub 30k.
minute 1:20 is so cute LOL .. anyway, im sad about the super cut back in power, but the interior is beautiful, i wish it had a panoramic roof, but hey what can u do
When does the driving impressions embargo lift?
Lol never mind, I didn't get to the middle of the vid yet
Very beautiful i hope it will be available to purchase without 8 months weythhinng Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
What is the adapter you we're using because I don't want to buy a whole new charger
Maybe homelink is a dealer install?
I don't know why but those wheels feel like it has been repurposed and doesn't connect with this car style. Gives on the honda SUV vibes.
Can you get 17 inch wheels on the touring?
No fog lights?
Does it have smart cruise control or autopilot?
40k for a honda accord 😵💫😵💫
The center tunnel is for body rigidity. Helps keep floor from buckling
This comes AWD right?
I think it would be bigger than the CR-V. I think it's comparable to the passport and pilot.
Interior seats are designed for grandpa's, so bland
It's a Honda , it's a sadan made for families
Will a 2.0T of this gen be offered later on or is this it?
Drive it! The specs sound odd but if is anything like the CRV, the hybrid is way better.
People will praise it in a couple years just like last gen
I'm still polarized about the looks of the previous gen and I own one.
Long live the 10th gen design!
Surprised it doesn’t have map pockets on both doors. Cost cutting in interesting ways.
Hey Kirk, if you can, would you please do a review of the base model Civic Hatch (The Sport trim, not Sport Touring) it is the only one with the naturally aspirated 2 liter engine and can be had with the manual transmission, If I was to get one, that is the one I would get, the Sport (not Sport Touring) with the manual. There is literally one one driving review of it online, so it would be cool if you could drive it and give us your feedback. In that awesome blue color if possible.
Nice car but 39K isn’t a value proposition. It’s approaching the luxury offerings
The tires look so skinny and flat.. Does that make the ride rougher?
Great review as always. I like it much better in this colour. I think this car is a land yacht though. It's so long, it might as well be a full sized sedan now. What's it like fitting into tight parking spaces? Are you allowed to say yet, Kirk?
Honda gives the CRV a heated steering wheel but give us the Accord a better infotainment screen. I don't get how they make these different decisions of what features to put in what cars
The sonata limited hybrid looks better and has better tech, equipment too.
And won't last half as long!
this has a better engine, transmission, better quality but it looks so bad 😢
The Sonata’s going away.
That small volume knob is still miles better than VW's slideypad
This is the end of the manual sport eh? Rip.
It looks very retro.
Gives me “senior living” vibes

I'd be curious to put a TLX side by side to this new Accord. My understanding is they're still separate platforms, but there aren't *not* some angles of the front where I see some family resemblance.
Even if it's just the angle of the headlights and a grill shaped with straight sides instead of curved ones
same platform. Don’t believe the marketing bs
What turbo model? I thought there was only NA engines for this 2023 edition
LX ex 1.5 turbo
I've been hearing that Honda is skimping out putting Homelink mirrors in even their upper model trim levels...probably just have to go buy and install yourself. That's a reason for me to go to Toyota lol.
They added a 12 inch screen, improved interior quality, standard rear LEDs. They had to remove some features.
@@azeeze1391 There should be no reason to compromise a feature that even a 2016 accord touring had. Honda also removed four way lumbar, worsened the material quality on the rear seat door on the sport trim. The interior material quality has also not improved and is practically the same on the touring as it has been since 2018. Fog lights have also been removed and there is still no available heated steering wheel, pano roof, and no rear vents on and sport l or ex l which is absurd.
Its a great car, good mileage and reliable but isn’t it a little boring now?
