Watching CZcams car channels is like watching an episode of Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous. These vehicles might as well be a Rolls Royce or Lambo of which 99% of the population have zero chance of ever owning.
A CZcams auto review channel that reviews affordable vehicles is non existent.
Everyone of these channels, TFL, Pickup Plus SUV Talk, etcetera need a Robin Leach voice impersonator to narrate the shows.
Their theme song should be Hall and Oats "Out of Touch" czcams.com/video/DCkJ5lGPqFs/video.htmlsi=9uprKsBJbim0L_KV
WRONG! Completely false
These and even my hybrid are fun trucks. That super cruise is a game changer for sure! I am glad GM has finally got there act together ❤️
At least it looks better than the Cybertruck
Cybertruck design by someone just completed a construction school. That is why all the body lines are just straight and no curves 😂. They don’t know how other than straight line
Jill, If that thing drove like you do it would've gotten a ticket by now.
Thanks for the review. It was awesome! I like the stitching of all the small vignettes into one cohesive piece.
Great review! I appreciate the detail on Supercruise and your experience with towing. EV towing gets a lot of bashing, but you're the first one to point out that yes, charging is not as fast as gassing up, but in exchange for that you get an effortless experience. The heavy low slung weight of the truck, smooth experience, no worries about temperatures of brakes, transmission or motors just makes it as pleasant as driving unladen. Supercruise is just the cherry on top.
I put 100 dollars out to wait to get one of these. I don’t have a problem with anything but the price. Curious how they are going to get it cheaper with other versions coming
Enjoy the balance of views here. And I like that you present what you like/dislike in a way that others can judge for themselves if it works for them or not.
Truck EV’s still aren’t for me (even income-permitting, lol!) but this one looks the most capable overall.
Of the EV trucks, this was the only one that interested me mostly due to range and charge time. Price point still isn't there imo. Features like Super Cruise I might have liked 20 years ago but my driving profile doesn't really need that now. I'll just have to accept I was born at the wrong time and be content with what I have.
I have a performance model y for the “speed” conversation. It’s gimmicky after having it for 2 yrs because i don’t use it as often. Sure it’s nice to get around people and rage in traffic but this trucks 4.1-4.5/0-60 mph is perfect.
It is very good
That Jill has her Explanations so on course Great truck 👄
I would never use super cruise, don't like the magnifying glass in the roof, the 24" wheels are just terrible, and I don't care for the looks of the front end on this model. The work truck would be the way to go for me since it doesn't have the stuff I don't like or want and it had 18" wheels and the looks of the front end are a lot better. For how I use a truck that would work for me, unfortunately the price is still too high for me to replace the truck I currently own. I used to tow my race car with a 66 Ford F-100 with four wheel drum brakes. Everything else is a breeze compared to that.
Any idea when the 2025 Ram Charger will be reviewed??? September???
Nope. Sorry.
Probably not until next year, honestly.
For the price alone a hard NO ! Even if I could afford it.
If it was getting 1.9 miles per kW that’s 380 mile range with that set up.
What the point of building it? At least 80k starting price. Should make it more affordable unless it is just for showroom or 1% of the buyers
But 100K?
Go on a new truck lot, this truck might actually seem cheap. It's high end ICE trucks pushing $150,000. Look at the car channels that talk about price.
Tfl Cybertruck got a whopping 85 miles of range while towing. So what’s this get?
About 250
Enough with the brand new tracks that nobody can afford, tell us which of the old ones, and the most reliable and best priced
Sure, they made those. Go to the channel home and look at their older videos from 3-4 years ago or farther. Lots of reviews of those vehicles.
Do Tesla and Rivian get cons for NOT having Play or Auto?
Yes. But haven’t spent any time with these vehicles to review. 🤷🏻♀️
They cost too much.
So with no hands on the wheel, what happens when a tire goes flat? Seems like EV's need a better battery and faster charging before the general public will even look at one. (plus price)
According to others, it holds the vehicle straight until you get your hands on the wheel. Does a better reaction than most humans apparently.
6 miles per 1% while towing? So 600 miles while towing and 400 miles not towing on a full charge. Me thinks there gonna be people left stranded.
Too many factors to make that claim.
@@Pickuptrucktalk My point was the estimated range / charge the vehicle is giving you is clearly wrong and that could lead to dangerous situations for owners. Nobody can bring you a can of electricity if you run out and there are nowhere near enough charging stations in remote locations.
In an ICE vehicle the estimate range is largely irrelevant because you can easily find refueling stations or carry an extra 5 gallons, but with EVs that's just not the case thus the range estimate becomes much more important.
@@mrpips000 It's really not that difficult. EVs have been out there for quite some time and I've yet to see one just stranded on the side of the road. Stop trying to make something about nothing.
The price point is way too high for an underwhelming experience, to say nothing about the EV limitations staring you in the face (range, charging times, insurance costs and claims including totaling nearly new vehicles, charging infrastructure limitations, recycling challenges). I’m not convinced EVs are the wave of the future. Even if they are, who can afford one?
Why they didn't call it the Chevy avalanche I don't know because it's not a Silverado
They talk about it on a previous video. Most likely for name recognition/branding.
I wouldn't be shocked if they made a more off-road($) one that is called that.
EV battery technology simply isn't there yet
Non-EV driver may say that. After you actually drive an BEV you will change your tune.
I think it’s actually dinosaurs like you that aren’t there yet.
@@jayem8981 "Dinosaurs?"
When you cant argue the issues revert to name calling...how impressive.
Even the CEO of Ford said that EVs have a long way to go and are full of issues.
I'm a dinosaur and I'll argue it. EVs are fine, they have plenty of use in the real world. Expensive? Sure, and so is every other like truck. A Limited F150 or Ram Tungsten is $80K. Range anxiety? What's wrong with 300+ miles? About the same for most ICE trucks. Of course it is a bad choice if you need something to tow long distance....duh. Same as choosing a small engine 1/2-ton if you need to tow heavy trailers. Or choosing a 1-ton diesel long bed if you just need to drive around town and shop at Walmart. Just not the right tool for the job. But it is a better tool for many applications.
@@Dusdaddy Until EVs match the convenience, range, price ( they are HIGHLY subsidized), range and overall capabilities of ICE vehicles, they won't be any but niche vehicles.
If they already have a nice body on the current Silverado why go back a re use a crappy Avalanche design? 😠 😡
Boring. Just like every other EV. No soul. No range. No thanks
And spoken like no experience actually driving any BEV. ICE is Boring.
If you want soul go ride a horse.
Honestly you make yourself sound like a cornball claiming a car has “soul” simply because it makes vroom vroom noises.
This dude is a straight up hater. You can tell he still thinks it’s uncool to like anything GM does.
Definitely a hater.
Another 100 mile tow with another electric truck.....
More like 250
Another ignorant statement by someone that doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Don’t compare the Silverado EV to the found on road dead f-150 lightning.
Guess you have attention deficit, but if you actually paid attention you’d note it was 250 miles towing.
