Dopo il grande successo in Svizzera e gli ottimi risultati raggiunti in Italia da una ballad malinconica come "Long Way" durante la scorsa estate, tornano i 77 Bombay Street con un pezzo molto diverso.
Piena d'energia e ritmo, "Up In The Sky" è tratta dall'ominimo album (disponibile su iTunes del 6 dicembre) una pop song facile facile, piena di chitarre, perfetta per muoversi a tempo senza pensare troppo.... Il testo, però, accenna a un mondo nel cielo in cui non ci sono problemi, nessuno è controllato, non ci sono auto né telefoni. Insomma, ascoltando la musica dei 77 Bombay Street il cervello resta accesso, eccome...
I 77 Bombay Street sono una family band difficile da collocare. 4 fratelli di 7, tutti figli di 2 hippie svizzeri emigrati in autralia negli anni 80 che hanno deciso di chiamare la propria band con il nome della via in cui vivevano in Australia; appunto Bombay Street al numero civico 77.
La loro musica mescola folk, rock e pop in parti più o meno uguali mescolando le tradizioni svizzere a quelle australiane, rendendola immediata, melodica ed energica... ed il risultato piace molto!
Il loro tour 2011 ha coinvolto circa 300.000 spettatori, un numero semplicemente enorme per la Svizzera, un paese che conta circa 7 milioni di abitanti. Ma Matt (28 anni, voce e chitarra acustica), Joe (26, voce e chitarra elettrica), Esra (24, voce e batteria) e Simri-Ramon (20 voce e basso) più che rockstar / popstar, sembrano ancora dei semplici musicisti di strada.
Dal 22 novembre al 27 novembre "Number 2" è stata free single of the week su iTunes ricevendo ottimi feedback. L'album "Up In The Sky" è già in preview sullo stesso store e dal 6 dicembre è disponibile per il download anche sugli altri shop digitali.
La video date di "Up in the Sky" è fissata per lunedì 5 Dicembre
In some cases, numbers say something: 300.000 tickets sold for their tour in Switzerland, a country with only about 7 millions of people, say that folk pop of the 77 Bombay Street is really powerful. Matt (28), Joe (26), Esra (24), and Simri-Ramon (20) grew up in a family of nine in Basle. "Our mother encouraged us to sing from a very early age," explains Joe. Ever since they were tiny, they have been making music together. "Up In The Sky" is their new single and their album too, avaiable on iTunes Italy from Thursday December 2011.
