I actually heard this song in a service station last July and despite knowing the song and loving it, I could not for the life of me remember who sang it. Not being familiar with Amy McDonald or her music I literally scoured every female artist with a similar genre but found nothing. One year ago, before Corona, I listened to this song coming home in the morning and half drunk from my friends' house, after having the time of our lives, or going to school with my hair all messed up cause life was so wonderfully intense that I didnt even have the time to comb it. The lyrics represented for me my total freedom, never knowing where I would have slept or what I would have done the day after. We were always so tired but we were living our youth in the best way possible. Now the lyrics turned dark, we cant leave our homes and the 'where you gonna go' became a rhetorical question rather than an hymn of total freedom of choice. We're not going anywhere, we'll live our last year of school all apart and our youths have been broken in a half. This song will always be a memory of those happy times. Love you all
