An important fact I think you forgot to mention is that Real Madrid has already won La Liga since April 30th, meanwhile Liverpool is still in the fight for the Premier.

@@munchin.2349 it means that since Real have locked the title, since April, all of their efforts have gone on the Champions League matches, while Liverpool still has to worry about said title and that could mean that Liverpool would not be prepared enough and could potentially screw both things

Longer play time tends to favor the “better team” tho. It’s the same as how leagues are pretty much always won by the same best teams (aka the ones with more money), but when it comes to knockouts going all or nothing on one game, that’s where the underdogs have a higher chance.
