This movie was hilarious, and did a good job putting a new spin on the time-loop trope. And I didn't mention it enough, but the score/soundtrack is excellent.
Great reaction. Not enough people have seen this movie but it's so good. My interpretation of the dinosaurs was like what she discovered is they were in a box of energy, and i think it was starting to break down. my guess is if she didn't figure out how to get out, eventually it would've broken down and they would've just woken up in the next day. like he said in the scene, "that's new", so he's probably been in that same situation with her before and the dinosaurs never happened. maybe more and more weird shit would start to happen as the time loop broke down, like it's falling through different parts of time or something. I don't know.
The first Time loop movie is not "Groundhog Day". The first was in 1933. And then in 1962 a Japanese book popularized it, and "G-Day" made it mainstream to American audiences
I wonder if they weren't just moving through the time loop but were also moving through parallel universes and that would explain why, in one of them dinosaurs still exist there, which also means that the damage they did in each loop was permanent
I was going to suggest Groundhog Day (1993), but you seem to have watched that movie already. Good for you. Also, this movie was released in 2020 and not 2021. Just saying. Fun Fact: Andy Samberg admitted multiple endings were written and even shot. They held private friends and family screenings of the different versions to get opinions on which ending worked. Samberg jokingly explained: "Alright, it might not be perfect but everyone liked it!"
Andy samberg had to be in that time loop long enough to forget what he did for a living. I would argue that longer than 40 years. I think Grandma is in the time loop, and she's just enjoying a great day with her family. No idea how she got to that cave though. This movie is better every time I see it. I love how the whole movie you think it's about Andy samberg's character, only to find out it's about Christine milioti's character. She moves the plot forward.
I was also questioning if Grandma was stuck in there as well
I think so too, and she would want to stay because she can live forever, do anything and be with her family

I know I am a year late, but they were on mushrooms when they saw the dinosaurs moving.
i watched this movie just to pass the time and ended up loving it, happy you watched!

Jordon Peele has a time loop episode in his Twilight Zone season 1.
