Get secondhand. You can buy most flagships in great condition the following year because there are owners who upgrade every year. Check out eBay and other auction or similar near you. This phone will be 1/3 - 1/4 of its retail price within 2 years. It's possible to buy at the right time most of the time!
I just bought this phone for Verizon outright. $1000 w/tax out the door. I've owned the Samsung Note 10 Plus 5G, S9, S10, and after I had the S20 set up and started to use things like CZcams, Maps, Camera Still/Video, and a few other favorites, set at 120hz, and all I can say is WOW. The onboard hardware combined with the 5G getting well over 100 MB/s DL makes this phone a joy to use. Its kind of like upgrading your 2008 Chevy that's in decent shape to a 2019 Benz with 10K miles on it... you will never want to go back. Spend the extra money if you have it. I am not rich, but I spent the money anyway. Think about how often you use your phone, all day everyday right?? Get the best if you've never wanted to spend the money. Get the S20 you'll thank me later.

If you went from the Note10 Plus 5g to the S20 Ultra did you notice much difference? Aren't they quite similar? The screen size is 6.8 inch vs 6.9 inch. The camera is an upgrade. Would be interested in a real ownership experience when upgrading between similar specs.
I don’t see the point of upgrading phones anymore. It seems the thing most, if not all competitors focus on is slightly better screen and cameras. As much as I lament Apple and their strategy, I wish there’s another revolution in mobile technology, like iPhone once did.

@@Abdulrahman11799 it needs a few years to mature and get past the early problems, but there's potential. It's funny, in the 90s, mobile phones used to be massive bricks, and as technology advanced, having the smallest phone was the thing every company was trying to do, but now we're moving in the opposite direction, and now with foldables, we might be seing the flip phone come back.

@@venator7889The phone performed like a beast for me. Handled everything I threw at it. Battery life was great. The only issue I experienced with the camera were some focus issues.

I just purchased this phone, and took a few selfies and videos, but apparently when doing so in flipping camera around, the selfies and videos are backwards. Meaning the letters and numbers are backwards in the video. Is there a fix to that?

Btw, the 30 min charging bars at 4:49 are misleading, S20 has a longer bar than Note 10+ in the graphic even though they have the exact same charging percentages in that test
Hey Will, thx a lot for the great review as always. I have one question, how usefull is 120hz screen? How can integrated gpu produce that many frames for any 3d game(even in 1080p) to make use of such refresh rate? Even with Korean top tier ram and ssd storage its rather unlikely to have any real use of this dispaly, or is it?

He said only good up to 10x zoom? Bull. My s20 ultra takes amazing photos at 30x zoom and can see things at 100x zoom not clear but you can still see the image

You can get the features you want in other mid range phone. And with that price tag, it's not may for everyone.
If u turn the the phone brightness down, very seldom will you run into thermal throttling when brnchmarking

@@jessierobinson3900 I upgraded from a S10 and thought it was worth it. Camera, bigger battery, 120hz screen, UFS3.0 and gestures creates a smoother experience. Brother just compared it to his S8 and he noticed how smooth it was compared to his. Surprised he noticed cuz he's not a tech guy and holds on to things longer . S9 is still a good phone tho.

@@michaelriverajr8891 I've played with the camera. There is an autofocus issue for close objects. It seems to hunt more. Yes, I heard that too. I think Korea has gotten the update and now the rest of the world waits.
I preordered the Samsung Ultra 5G through T-mobile. After having it for almost a week I have to say that I'm honestly underwhelmed by the camera's performance (primarily the camera software).
Having kept with my Galaxy S8 for a few years, I decided that I was ready to finally upgrade and buy the most premium Galaxy option. Though the quality of the images are great, I am unable to capture most of them due to the camera's autofocus constantly readjusting itself and leaving most of my images blurry. Also, on rare occasions when I take multiple shots, I will receive a message that the camera has crashed which results in the app closing and me losing a few of the images.
With the camera being one of the major selling points of the device, I feel a little disappointed and upset about this $1400 purchase
Samsung said that they're going to have a fix for the phone issues, so just be patient and hopefully the fix really does fix it. I'm frustrated by the focusing issues as well
This is why I'm contemplating whether I should switch to apple
@Welly I'm kinda the opposite, the iPhone has just enough customisation for me to use. And I have the s10 and it was so buggy and it stuttered a lot

Why can't Samsung make enough phones with Snapdragon SoC. It's discrimatory to ship some S20 with Snapdragon SoC to some regions and ship those with less reliable Exynos/Mali GPU to other regions all for the same price.

Yeah, the more I see, the less I like, especially as in the UK we get the second-rate Exynos chip with a downgraded camera sensor, worse battery life, less performance and more throttling, all for the extraordinary price of £1200!!!
I have seen camera reviews and it is still behind the iPhone although software updates should improve it, no giant leap forward, especially as all the marketing features, are gimmicky. I really expected a 5000 mAh battery to beat out the 4000 mAh iPhone 11 Pro Max, and even with 60Hz it falls short, that is bad.
Just looking at OPPO, Sony and LG, all cheaper and coming soon, offering similar specs and features, the Galaxy S line is really now just for Samsung fans who will never change as they are hardcore. I suggest you wait a few months and buy discounted as then you will know whether the software has improved and also the price would have fallen and also you can check out better value phones incoming. By the look of pre-orders and returns the S20 Ultra has pretty meh reception and I think that consumers are fed up with paying extortionate prices just based on the spec without the optimisation with software that makes the extra worthwhile. A fail and poor value ATM, but worth a relook down the line.

They should allow customers to choose between exynos(being cheaper) and snapdragon varient, but what would happen to muh profit then?
The only reason they sell SD varient is because SD has bought required 4G bands in US and they don't wanna deal with the hassle.

I disagree with some of the gripes.
1. I instantly to my eyes when reviewers throw in the word "gimmick". Even having a 100x option in a phone is amazing. It's not going to be crystal clear, but I can tell what's going on. I think it will be used for reference or those shots that are just so far away that you can't see what you're shooting in regular mode.
2. I'm getting good pics, up to 30x zoom. It's 30x, you have to be steady and have good light...decent, at least.

When they say 100x you would expect that it is 100x at full or close to full resolution. It is just 10x or something then cropped.
