    Samsung Galaxy S21 vs S21+ Review:
    • Samsung Galaxy S21 vs ...
    The Galaxy S20 Ultra is a phone with insane specs on paper, and the only thing that’s perhaps more eye-catching, is the crazy $1400 starting price. Samsung have basically taken every spec from their S10 models and turned the dial up to 11...or 20...and considering this spec sheet, it’s easy to get excited about the new S20 lineup. But with reports of major camera bugs, is the S20+ actually a better phone overall?
    In this review, we’ll be comparing all the differences in specs and features to see not only which of these phones offers the best value for money, but also answering the question: which of these phones is actually best?
    p.s. I don't get notifications for all comments, even if you tag my name. Make sure to follow @insidetechltd on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram where I'll definitely be able to respond to you!

    Honestly the best review on the two phones I've seen yet. Most reviewers nowadays give their reviews and speak about the phones without actually giving a solid answer and solid advice at the end. They're helpful at telling us the specs but their conclusions are always open ended and it's as if its just another phone in their cupboard. You actually tell us that you wouldn't buy the Ultra, and why we shouldn't - as if they're the £1000 investment they are. I was undecided on the two because although 100x is unusable, the 10x and maybe even 30x are useful on the Ultra, the focus and the depth of field issues are more important and bigger flaws than the perks of the Ultra, and you showed me that.
    I'm still favouring the 20+ over the iPhone however as the 120Hz , fingerprint censor and smaller bezels are more useful to me than the slightly better camera reliability. And I still believe the camera is better on the 20+ than the Oneplus 8 Pro too.
    Thanks for the video.

    Very informative review. I was planning to upgrade from an S7 to either s20+ or ultra, so looks like either way am in for a treat. Had thought to splash out on the ultra just because, but now not so sure based on this review and other, less indepth reviews which drew the same conclusion. Size wise may be quite a jump from an older s7 handset to a device as large as the ultra... plenty of food for thought.

      @@insidetechltd Totally understandable. I myself still have a S10+ and only made the jump because of my S8+ having a video/screen issue (hard to explain, without going long). I have noticed that even the other Chinese phone makers are going more expensive. I was super pisses the base Ultra is $1400 here. I struggled to find reasons to justify my S10+ last year. I enjoy being on the edge of technology but maybe it just doesn't make sense to do this anymore. I mean for $2k I could get a nice used car for my kid, I'm sure they would love that more than me on a new toy. 🙄 Anyway i plan on watching the older videos. Again, great job. Keep it up and you'll be getting more subs. 👍

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  Před 4 lety +1

      Oh it doesn't make sense at all. I literally only upgrade all the time for work - there's no need to upgrade every year though. The S10+ is still an amazing smartphone - i'd recommend it over any of the new S20s for anyone to buy this year. It's nice to always have the newest tech, but the cycle never stops. There's always something new! Hold on as long as you can, then make the upgrade - i'm sure your kid would appreciate it too, haha!

    I just switched from iPhone. I was an iPhone fanboy since 2011. I just got tired of the same phone coming out every year. But that's anothet conversation. I picked up the s20+, and overall I love it! I find it a little quirky at times and a few things aren't as smooth as iOS, but I find the experience much more enjoyable and personalized. My biggest complaint is there is no external volume switch to switch from silent to loud, and as great as these cameras are I still feel like the iPhone cameras might be a little better. I'm disappointed because that was one of the reasons I wanted to switch. I thought the galaxy line was supposed to be second to only the pixel. But it's still a great camera. I am coming from an iPhone XS Max so I'm a couple years behind on tech, but so far for an iPhone user, I have really enjoyed the switch. There are some things that need getting used to though. iOS has just mastered the user experience and overall is a much more refined OS, but it's too restrictive and boring. I may go back after this s20+, but for now, it's been an AWESOME experience!

      It's funny since I'm actually probably doing the reverse. I've always been an android person besides having the iphone 4s. I really miss the iphones app polish as well as I like to play phone games and sometimes they just really lag and slow down in comparison to my experience with ios.
      I currently have the Note 9 and been debating between getting the Iphone 12 in october or getting the S20/s20+/s..30? next year. Samsung has by far been my most polished and well rounded android experience. I'd consider the pixel 5 if it's any good and worth it. However, it just seems to me it's better to wait until october before deciding and not just getting the s20/+ now.
      The s20+ just seems too large for me since it's one of my gripes with the Note 9. Besides that, I really love the personalization and what I can do. I added one hand operation + , great feature and I'm OCD with my organizing so I customize with Nova launcher. Which could kind've defeat the purpose of owning a pixel since it's purpose is to be a great stock phone and getting the features sooner. Then I have a reader app that i can't get on ios and a game emulator, so It's tilting me more towards sticking with android, I just wish I could use the apple watch and airpods since those to me are really great accessories that I'd love to try.

    One of more sensible comparative reviews of S20+ and S20 Ultra, on CZcams. I have just bought S20+ (directly from Samsung), based on brief use of friends S20, S10+ and P30 Pro. Whilst P30 Pro had superior camera specification, the Huawei firmware tends to over-compensate exposures in normal light conditions .... and I don't usually use phone, to take shots in poor light conditions, or for telephoto shots. I have full frame camera for that. Considering the phone for phone sake, with capability of taking "reasonable" camera shots on the go ... as the bonus, S20+ seemed the best option here. With the memory card slot, 12 GB Ram on board and higher spec 5G, the only drawback as I see it, is Samsung's use of Exynos 990 chipset (in UK), instead of Snapdragon 865.

    • @insidetechltd
      @insidetechltd  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you. Yes the Exynos chip is disappointing. The gap between the 990 and SD 865 is particularly large this year - especially with power efficiency. It's not so bad that it makes the phone unusable though

      I like the phone. More so, since Samsung pushed out the second firmware update (within 30 days, in UK). The close up shots in standard autofocus mode are now pin sharp, without having to resort to taking 5 shots, to find one that is acceptable.

    I have the S20 ultra 5g Snapdragon.Overall, I love this phone so far, especially the battery. I use android auto, so my phone charges during my rides to and from work, and yesterday, right before i went to bed, my battery was at 88%!
    But I have also noticed the camera isn't that great. I take a lot of close pictures of receipts for business expenses, and they're all much less sharp than the pics from my previous S10+, some are even blurry. Also, i've noticed that at 120Hz, my google news feed in the Lawnchair launcher tends to freeze and lock up the phone after about 20 seconds of scrolling and reading. It doesn't happen at 60hz.

    I still have and use my Note 10 Plus but now have both the Galaxy s20 Ultra and the Galaxy S20 Plus. I really love the S20 series especially the Ultra. I started with the S10e 2 years ago. I am definitely a Samsung Galaxy person.

      I have a note 10 plus. Tried a pixel 6 but was disappointed. Is s20 ultra better in any way over s20 plus? Like battery in life or something?

    Do you know when you'll be releasing the update? I've heard Samsung's update for the S20 Ultra improves some of the auto focusing issues, and the night mode timing. But there remain issues because of limitations with Phase Detection Auto Focus. Any chance future 'Ultra' models could return to Dual Pixel, or is that not possible?

      Early next week hopefully. Some parts have improved but most issues still remain. I wouldn't be surprised to see dual pixel af return in the future

      @@insidetechltd Great thanks. Not sure why Samsung changed in the first place!
