    The gills submerged is a grey area because of safety and water conditions, immediately is in reference to doing things to delay release. In general I think quick release videos influence others to do the same. I try to do it every time unless harvesting a shark

      Agreed. Angler safety is more important IMO plus the I coming shore break. But nevertheless I wanted to point out how awful the law reads. Almost like it's a trap.

    1,000 views…. And 37 thumbs up??!!! Are you kidding me…. This video should be mandatory for everyone who is, or plans to, LBSF! Travis is EXACTLY right …. Wake up, follow the laws…. stop posting pictures that, at a minimum, appear to show illegal practices, and stop posting and suggesting work around of the laws. It’s really that simple

    This is a good video. I'm a tourist but I have respect for these animals. Can't wait to get to the water again. I've learned most everything from reading and watching videos like these, it's a little different from catching catfish and gar. You guys are actually teaching people good things about the sport and how to do it, right. Thanks.

    You just have to keep pushing the message till people start to get it. Till people start to talk about it among each other. Took awhile for catch and release to go mainstream a decade ago. It is sad but it almost has to be moderated now. We do not need the felon image. We do not need the bad guy image. We don't need the junkie image. Keep all that off social media. Want to be macho, go start a company and provide paychecks to other people. Seems the sport is almost like the wrestling scene on the internet. The exact image we do not want.

      There are about 25 loud mouths out of maybe thousand or so nice easy going catch and release sharkfishermen. 25 People messing it up for everyone.

      @BeachSharkFishing  Před rokem +1

      @@christopherdeaver5372 can't do much about that 25 but we can keep trying to provide pockets of clean information for the incoming flow of new anglers. Also understanding better about what we can legally do would help. I'm sure we can agree most people want to do the right thing. The question becomes what's the right/legal thing.

      @@BeachSharkFishing Well change is on the way in a big way. It started when you guys got the three makos and put it on this channel. Now you have the credibility and the audience...you have the microphone. Many people are too scared to post a response to this video or your other recent videos but they are listening. Us Texas boys, for the most part, started keeping our sharks in the water and releasing them for a couple of decades. One Texan got two tigers on one weekend in 1989 on PINS, an 11 footer and a 12 footer, and he released them both. Most people will stop posting on social media to maintain their ability to keep fishing. We did not post up our tiger catches in the last 60 days due to the social media visibility.
      You cannot get on shark week unless you release your shark. I can send you the video from the shark week episode, quote: "The big tiger shark is a beauty and she deserves to live". The punchline on World Wide TV was the release of the tiger.

      @@PowerFisherman so much more clarity and awareness needs to be shown. I can't believe we just sat back and said nothing for so long as a small handful of people destoryed many parts of LBSF. People are scared to say something and that might be part of the problem.

    Before I started shark fishing the image I had of it was, drunk rednecks killing sharks. Most of the you tube videos back then were of Texans killing sharks, cussing, smoking cigs on the beach and drinking by big trucks. Most the serous lbsf anglers don't smoke, drink, a lot of service members do it, it's actually the opposite type of people then what I thoughtbecause the effort and expenses that go into it. I think the lbsf is just starting to grow and take hold, hence why they are making laws and regulations specifically for it, more will come and beaches will close etc. Our tourist beach areas band shark fishing long ago and some beaches have area bans. The truth is any attention is bad attention. You post videos, run a forum, and a lbsf tackle company, trust me you've had your impact, good and bad. You have to apply for a special permit and have a reason on why you want/need to tag a prohibited species. It's not easy to get but you can get them. Killing sharks kills the fishery. You got to handle with care.
