Thats pretty accurate on most points. Understand thats the cost to do it at the highest level correctly. That is the expense of monster hunting. The reels have very good resale but everything else your doing good if you can resell it for like 60 percent. Most people work there way up to that. Like first year minimal investment and if you keep doing it by year 3 you got a small fortune in gear
Sometimes its better not to fish because of bite offs. Got it 13 times in 4 hrs between 3 rods 1 october. Twice while fighting giants never landed a fish that day went home defeated with a hate for tippers.
Texas expense list redic jetski, 4x4 lol

Harness is absolutely number one…lol i got all the other stuff first and just reeling in the spiderweight by itself was a task since it was 1k yards out.

This is a great video and something I wish I had seen at the start of my shark obsession. I wasted more money trying to ease into the equipment I actually needed in an attempt to save money.
I knew the comments on this one were going to be good. This a great video and there’s no need to justify a cheaper/smaller set up. He’s very clear he’s not targeting black tips and sand tigers…….

Yeah I fell into the same trap, I tried to do it cheaply but wound up spending even more after finding out my equipment is inadequate

Can you recommend any good bait shops in Sebastian inlet area that carry large baits, bonito or Rays type sizes ?

I use buoys on my rigs here in Texas. I have lost a total of 2 rigs in over a year fishing almost every weekend. Those 2 lost rigs were cutoffs overnight where the bait got picked up after. We get cutoff A LOT but the floats give us the opportunity to retie out there, saving the whole rig and bait.

That’s a solid 2500$ if you add in a case of COORS! Great informative video.

and everyone, please keep in mind this is just ONE SETUP and you can spend twice as much on rod, reel and line!
Also, you should always have one, better 2-3 reel fillings on hand just re spoolin' after gettin' bitten off on long drops can cost you over one whole spool caracity and of course a 130 or 18/0-20/0 Everol will swallow more line, also when you use braid south of 130lb and/or a short mono topshot, no toppy at all or how I do it, some real heavy braid(300lb-800lb ) that gives me enough resistance while find the water resistance bein' enough "stretch" and any more just hurts effective pumps, also is my 130lb(stronger than 200lb JB, but about the same capacity as 130lb JB) 200lb(stronger than some other 300lb hollow cores) and 300lb(almost as strong as 500lb JB, but thinner than JB 300) C-16 Cortland hollow core is much more shock resistant than most other lines, especially JB and Momoi gen3, so I don't need the forgiveness and this line is also crazy in terms of how much abraision it can take, even pullin' the line ith a fish on over rocks worked every time so far.
if you feel like usin' mono maybe a 100foot leader, doesn't have to be a wind on, before your ectual leader is plenty IMO

well, I'd strongly recommend usin' a weakpoint to atach your weight, either a comparably weak swivel or a breakline(some 50-100lb mono) but aisde from that I agree, I would choose the BRAID harness though, costs more, but much nicer than Aftco or Black Magic for big fish, allows to really use your lower back as well

You'll be able to buy a lot more equipment if you knew what you were doing in Fantasy football.
