Ginwoo should have gotten a dang 95+ for that first run.. absolutely insane. Big spin out would win best trick.. and it was in the middle of an insane run.
Bs no pop no style and all easy tricks put to the next level. He's a g for sure but do that switch and catch rail at the top for a better score

That Gold medal run from Ginwoo was absolutely insanity! Pure perfection! Such a treat to witness!! Incredible skating all around.
Yet the dumbo commentator spent half the run giggling and talking about his socks/fit, while making absolutely no mention of the run or opinion of the tricks, then finishes it off saying something he said he said at lunch but never explained when he "predicted". Please get someone else next year, dude is garbage.

Skateboarding might have the worst commentary of any sport. These dudes just make random noises throughout Ginwoo's whole run, talking about his socks. Like dude hits insane tricks and the commentators don't even say what it is. They just go "oooooooooo!" and say "what'd I tell you at lunch?!" So incredibly dumb, and why nobody watches. X Games has 1.57M subscribers, and 9 hours after this video posted, there's only 38K views. Are you serious? Get some people who can both skate AND know how to broadcast. Such a joke.

Yeah I honestly could not believe that when I saw it. That run had like three tricks that would've scored extremely well in a best trick contest. Tricks no one else would even think of trying. What a freak!

This statement is a bit hyperbolic. The run was utterly mindblowijg considering his age however the trick count was limited, certain tricks were quirky and the coping dance is an odd thing to over score. If you haven't yet you should watch busenitz tampa pro 2011 winning run as an example of a brilliant contest run.

He really looks like a girl becouse he is still a child and japanese looks little more feminine than other raices. But honestly its impossible how good he is. And not showing any ego. I knew he was a boy but with the hair and how these kids dress with the tight pants and stuff it makes it hard to tell . That and there are actual girls skating in the x games the same age winning as well. Its crazy
That Onodera San first run was historic. I watched live the Hawk's 900 and this feels the same, HISTORIC.

Man when Jinwoo landed that kickflip front blunt big spin out my jaw fell to the floor. I haven't done a jaw drop in like 5 years but that really blew my mind. I'm basically double his age at 25 and he's way way better then I could ever be

I think until skateboarding introduces a style round scoring system, skaters like Jhank, who have a really developed style, will be just outside the medals

X Games really needs to step up their commentary. Gary Rogers sounds like my neighbor’s 5-year old son trying to sound cool. Very annoying. Watched most of it with the sound off.

Probably because it's usually centered more on street parts and Nyjah is always focused on contests. Thrasher also usually kind of snubs their nose at primarily contest skaters, so there's that, too.

As much as I love watching any skateboarding, I do feel like X-Games format needs some sort of updating. It just feels underwhelming in comparison to SLS these days. Maybe add in a short best-trick section: three attempts per skater and take the best one. I dunno. Still great fun to watch though.
The commentary needs to go immediately for sure. Put actual skateboarders commentating like they always did.

It’s such an honor to witness this level of skating. Video game level skills. 10 years ago Street League was barely a thing and the average score there was like a 3 lol or a 4. 9’s weren’t even a thing and now they’re the standard.

I admit I'm having difficulty with some of his mobbing but I can't ignore the insanity of the moves; Ginwoo has focused on consistency on insane tricks without getting hung up too much on style, and I'm ok with that: he is a talent, and a unique one at that.
After seeing lil man at SLS he was my pick in this one, I said if he had better trick selection he may be unbeatable, but after watching this I think his trick selection was super good here.
Like at SLS hos runs were both 9s I wanna say. But then when he gets into the nest trick part he was kinda over doing the FS Blunt but at the same time he was doing some next level tricks in/out, like the kinda stuff I'm not sure if anyone seen done before.
I loved that double flip fs board tho! That's what took it home 4 him.
In 2 run format he will be real hard to beat in the future IMO!

I used to skate back when I was his age and I can tell you it wasn't anything like that and forget about me man I remember my very first board and using the pool in the skate shop in my hometown and I remember that first drop. This kid has amazing talent they must work like crazy. Love to see that dedication and passion. I look forward to so many more runs and events from them, how cool dude.
