    Fiesta's aren't just for newbies, they're great secondary family cars. Ideal for quick school runs or a nip round to the shop. Very enjoyable and effortless to drive on urban and back roads and cheap as chips to buy, run and maintain.

      I just got a Fiesta ST-Line X Edition. I'm 42 and this is the BEST car I've ever owned. Nippy and sticks to the road like a limpet (My Ibiza FR Sport always felt it was going to roll if I took a corner too quickly). I don't want Hot Hatches or a revvy car. But this is an absolute winner for performance. OK, I also wanted the heated windscreen, steering wheel and seats :) Buy one.

    I've just bought a 2011 Ford Fiesta Zetec TDCi and it's MILES better than the 2008 Ford Fusion Zetec that was administrated to me by my parents to get me through my first full year of driving since passing my test. It's even helping me with my finances - Fiesta is group 4 insurance (Fusion was group 9), is only £20 road tax (Fusion was £220, but I paid £121 for 6 months), runs on diesel (Fusion was petrol), has air conditioning (Fusion's one never worked) and it's black (Fusion was blue). I've named her Shadow as she's the best car I've ever had. I've even connected my phone so I can listen to my music, hear the sat nav on Google Maps and make and answer phone calls whilst driving! She also has really comfortable seats and doesn't run out as quickly as petrol cars do, depending on how often I use it. But I love it!

      I have the Titanium version of this, same year. It has strange gearing and serious turbo lag, juddering when cold, but I would rather have this than the Ecoboom. It's not bad on fuel. I much prefer my older Golf GT 2.0TDI though, so much quicker and smoother, but it had too many issues and had to be scrapped.

    The only problem with this car being your first car at a young age is the little rolling resistances it has, It's so easy to go over the speed limit if you aren't paying attention. This can be a nightmare if you have a black box. Without a box it's a perfect day to day driver. It's fun to drive, nippy good on insurance and the fuel economy is great.

      @botulf4908 Před rokem

      Getting road speed up in those gear changes are ok....not economic but perfectly acceptable, I wouldn't recommend 'new' drivers to attempt it until they build their competency.
      I just got a 1.6 tdci Fiesta...I've had a lot of cars over the years...my favourite was a Ford Scorpio 2.9 V6 auto....such a comfortable car around 11-12 mpg around town!
      Second best for me was a Vauxhall Corsa 1.7 tdi that I had when I was an ADI with my own driving school back in 2005.
      Lots of sheds since then...last car was an Astra 1.6 sxi...over 20 years old and ended up as a nightclub smoke machine...she had to go unfortunately.
      My Fiesta is an absolute joy to drive! Economic, comfortable, great all round vision (you watch..now I've said that I'll probably stack it into a lorry). Initially the tracking was slightly out but that was a really cheap quick fix. The only thing that doesn't seem to work is getting Google maps to play over the stereo, phone connects via blue tooth but when navigating there's zero commentary either from the phone or the stereo...not a big issue, just a little annoying.
      Great video, and great advice!
