WOW!!! Tour de force, tour de force!! I've been all over CZcams for years trying to make sense of all these extensions which put my brain into a cramp just looking at the letter/number combinations!
Hands down, this was the absolute best video I've seen!!! Not only were your organizational abilities and break down of a very complex subject impressive - but then making it stick in just a few minutes' investment of time because you broke it down logically and succinctly, but then your lighthearted approach to banishing the heaviness and making headway into the complex maze with your happy voice and spirit and carefree, courageous attitude leading the way to make it fun - well, that was beyond EXCEPTIONAL!!!
Gone was all the seriousness, which stiffens the brain and prevents the information from flowing in and does more harm than we give it credit for!! Your easy approach made me feel like I was in kindergarten with a happy teacher and we were having fun exploring. By the end of the class, you had worked your magic and made the information stick because my brain was relaxed enough to let the info sink in because you took the fear away and broke things down to such a degree that you made it approachable and fun. I forgot all about the strain to keep up because you put so much work into breaking it down!
Without realizing it, by the time I got to the end, the wow of discovery sunk in! I could understand all those sus chords and slash chords and flat 9ths, 11ths and 13ths!! WOW! You made it fun and kept the wonder alive like when you were a kid and the teacher took you by the hand and banished the fear and bloomed the joy of discovery on your cheeks and your eyes were filled with light! I feel like a kid again and learning was a beautiful discovery! 🤸🤸 Where do we send the money?? You've earned it!! 😊👏👌🤸🤸

WOW! I read music theory book 5 years ago, and some of the concepts were a little vague to me as I didn't have anyone to ask about them. THEN, watching your video, REALLY helped me to clear things out. All those little questions in my head that will make me anxious when I wanted to start learning a little more, are now cleared out and even found different approaches in understanding some concepts. I never knew about with E in the left hand as the first inversion, but it does make sense.
Yeah - it's a technicality. I didn't even know that particular tidbit until very recently. I knew it was first inversion, but I didn't know it wasn't really a legit "slash chord"

Playing the root position is easy. What about playing chords in inversion while doing chord progressions
Eventually it should feel exactly the same. While looking at the piano, name a chord to yourself, like "C Major". At this point, a particular set of CEG might present itself to your visual spectrum, asking to be played, since those are the "right" notes and you have enough fingers to reach them. By practicing inversions and arpeggios, the goal is that when you think "C Major", all the C's, E's and G's present themselves, as if they had been overlayed in color in your visible range. Now there are 22 notes instead of just 3, all calling out to be played. You won't be able to play them all, just the few that you have enough fingers and hand span to reach. So when I'm playing, I'm not thinking about inversions, there aren't 3 notes that I AM playing as much as there are 19 notes I'm NOT playing. Getting there, of course, is just a matter of practice hours. You can start by trying to change inversions while on the same chord, before switching to the next one. Don't forget that your comment "Playing the root position is easy" is not a statement of fact - it's a statement of your current abilities at this moment in time. It used to be for you that playing multiple notes at the same time was akin to witchcraft. Now it's mundane. The same will be true with inversions.
