I'm really curious how it performs with better shocks and lipo. It does look the part as it is! I wish more brands would make sc trucks with this solid rear axle design. Also the roll cage looks awesome on this one. Only cheapish alternative is the VRX Racing RH1045SC, which is basically the short course version of the RH1045. As a matter of fact, no one reviewed that one yet Kev. Sounds like a burden you will have to carry my friend! 😜😂

Oi Kevin, have you already lowered this truck. I received some oil shocks for it but those springs are way too stiff. For the back I thought maybe the softest Axial Wraith springs. For the front I still don't really know what to do. Hopefully I will get it to hang a bit more in it's suspension whilst keeping the ful suspension travel. Would love to see how you upgrade yours.

@kevin talbot Hi, first of all thanks for the great videos. I wonder if the difference in FY01 and FY08 is just in the engine and esc or is it a few different more? I am considering for my son as a supplement to my Maverick Quantum XT Flux. Take on learning to take FY01 and then upgrade it or straight FY08?

I almost got this car. Found a older 2016 or 2017 traxxas slash 4x4. Now doing a build on it like ifitbashrs. If anyone was asking or cares, it was $400 and came with a charger. Used it as a base. Is now a 3s velinion brushless power system.

Try the ftx sidewinder the green one is brushless oil filled shocks counter steering comes with a 3s lipo and metal parts
The batteries that come with that truck have problems until you put them on a real charger and discharge and charge them slow. Also there's oil filled shocks for WL 12428 that work great and make it quit flipping so easy. The green set of shocks weren't put together as great as the Silver set I bought.... Some newbie stripped a plastic end peice but I just used one from the crap ones i took off. And most of the trucks I bought on banggood go dead if you don't unplug the batteries even if it's off.

Hi Kevin, love the videos. Quick question. I bought one of these, due to come in a week or so. Does it have a li po safety cutout when the voltage drops, or do you need to change the ESC before running li po?
Simon Britten it should be ready to run a Lipo out the box not sure about the voltage but you can buy a buzzer that tells you about the voltage when it gets low
For some reason I bought a extremely cheap crazy car called a rock runner and before I got rid of it I wanted to know how strong it was so I threw it probably 30 feet or so into the air and it actually took a lot of hits until it killed it

I had the same problem with the feiyue fy03h it came with a bad battery and the rear shock was broken but still a good cheap Rc ordered up 3c zop lipo hope it works lol

Kevin. Question. My truck is only 8 days old. Never been bashed or anything rough. Now today. Was the first time I put in kids mode and after putting in a fresh battery and placing it back in adult mode. After 3 mins. Grinding noise. Took apart can't find anything wrong with it. In my hands. Runs and sounds great. Place it on the ground. Barely moves with a noise. Banggood isn't wanting to help me. Because the box came in and wasn't worth saving so I threw it away. Is the motor burnt up. Do I just need to replace the airplane motor with a rc car motor and ESC. I'm just not wanting to have wasted money. I was told to stick with Amazon. I am from now on. But what would you suggest. I am new at all this. But I can follow directions on how to take apart and put back together. Just seeking advice. I've already asked Tomley Rc for help on the situation. Now I'm asking you to.
