I used to watch his videos for entertainment. Now I watch out of admiration, and maybe more importantly, education. Not just on RC stuff, but kev drops helpful pearls of knowledge outside of RC stuff often, and if you're paying attention you can learn from them. He's self made and I really appreciate and admire that.
Me too man. I used to just watch videos of cars I wanted, like the Xmaxx, different Kratons, etc. But now I watch just because he's awesome
I'm really into engineering and I watch so many videos to learn about it. but it seems sometimes I learn more about stuff on this channel instead of videos with the main focus of leaning engineering lol

Kev, I think the carb it running good in the higher rpm but the low end is bogging bad. Iâd adjust the low speed needle abit. Always start with one and a half turns out and tune half turn at a time until you get it responding good. Carbed 2 strokes need tuning all the time, elevation and air temp all play factors. Factory settings are probably set for 20c at sea level.

You see RC videos usually it's some guy with something like 5k subs who is incredibly quiet but this guy never disappoints I've been watching for 3+ years now and I watch this channel out of pure inspiration

Great Video Kev put the stock gears back in it for muddying , skate park run the middle gears. And I moved the tank back to put the air filter on a higher angle, sort of tuning the air filter adapter reverse. Pointing up , Other then that a good tune on the 46 engine itâs a good combo for the Raminator đ
It would be interesting to see if you did some upgrades to the reed valves or the exhaust to make it have better low end torque
I was thinking the same it has no torque on the low end and when it does start to move the tires it just spins them

Hey Kev, deciding between the xmaxx or the XRT. Cant get both sadly and my terrain ranges from skate parks and pump tracks to off-road rocky rough terrain to construction sites to fields. I hear the XRT with xmaxx tires makes it the perfect RC. Could you possibly do a video with this and see how well it does? Thanks

Hey Kevin make a custom smoke stack exhaust like a diesel that would look awesome
Next time you water foul it, hold your finger over the spark plug hole and crank it over. It helps get more water out faster... I used to do it to my dirtbikes.
why not just leave the plug in it then?
@Kevin Talbot no, cause your finger pressure isn't enough to seal the hole. The engine compression will push your finger off the hole and blow out more water due to the slight pressure increase in the cylinder. Try it next time. You will see more mist come out when you do this after getting the initial water out. Also heat the tip of the spark plug to dry it off a bit..

TIP: When reducing the head size of a bolt or screw. If you put them in the chuck of a cordless drill and and spin against a file etc you'll get a more even finish.

@Andrew Edward sure. It just depends on yer end goal i reckon. If you want machined precision without a lathe, a drill press is yer friend. If looks aren't a concern, get down n dirty with an angle grinder đ€y'all have a badass dayđ€đ»đ€

I do want to see that thing take on more mud bogs, maybe not that deep muck, but still more mud! After all its a mud truck - you got other Raminators you can keep clean and do monster truck stuff with, keep getting this one dirty.

That brake bolt, you should drill all the way threw and add a nut on the back side. So the factory threads but jam nutted on the back side.
Had to do that on 2 of my losi's works good.
Looked so Sick plowing through puddle, spitting smoke and steaming mud. Video thoroughly enjoyed, thanks my friend đ€

while relocating the filter you need to find a way to direct the exhaust out the hood like a lot of mud trucks and old monster trucks did.
with the way you like to air the trucks out and the look of that thing you could make a rc version of the Sail mega mud truck those raminators are awesome
Sure I know about reading a plug it best way to tune a 2 stroke it took years tuning dirt bikes and learning that skill is so help full to get max power keep up good work and everyone have wonderful day.

Use vet wrap around your filter, it allows it to breath but keeps the water out and the filter cleaner. When you get the vet wrap dirty just remove it, inspect filter and then rewrap it and you're good to go!!!!

I typically start engine turn air fuel screw to the right until it starts to sputter... I then turn to left until it starts to run rough... I set in the middle and fine tune up or down as spark plug colour indicates
