An oven on, with nothing inside it and a fully closed door, won't start a fire by itself. Most modern ovens also shut down after so many hours of being on as well.

Dryers and washers have timers, they aren't gonna burn your house down.
I don't know what the limit is on ovens, but in the ol days people heated their houses with the oven open. Can't leave that unattended but that does mean it can run for a long time.
My dryer definitely started to self immolate and would have succeeded if I wasn't in the house to smell that shit... Wasn't the lint trap, but rather the motor.
I'm not an expert, but that should lead to the motor failing before it ignites
@CommandLineVulpine It was literally billowing smoke. It might well have burnt out the motor before a serious fire started, but that's an outcome. I wouldn't bet my house and animals on.

In response to the fire conversation around 8:20, my house last year caught fire from a towel on a towel rack overnight. We're still not entirely sure what caused it, an electrician checked the light switch above it (one of those string ones from the ceiling, which had also caught alight) and said it was fine, the firefighters themselves said a towel rack should never get hot enough to start a fire, my housemate uses hair oils that they said might have rubbed onto the towel and made it flammable but this housemate uses a separate towel for her hair which was on the other side of the bathroom.
Anything and everything can catch fire, it's unlikely but it can happen and if it does it's better to be there to stop it.

NL in a position of any kind of popularity telling people to run their dryers unsupervised is actually insane, don't open yourself up to that kind of litigation.
For one, the thing that heats up a dryer is a heating coil, they do get very hot. And you have cats, yeah? Dust, lint, fur, fuzz and all of that has to circulate in the dryer system mixed with air, ideally filtered out by the system but wear and tear or accidents happen.
Cleaning your lint trap? Good on you, I'm more than certain you've also taken your hosing out of the out-vent line, surely? Quick clean up of the vents leading into actual structural points of the property to vent them oustide, yeah? A quick google search suggests 15k fires annually between washers and dryers, with over ninety percent of the fires being attributed to the dryer. Actual insane 'protips' to tell people to run their dryer's or any high amperage appliance unattended. Where do you think the power goes or why they're in high-amp wall outlets?
There is ample opportunity for the appliance to catch fire. Not to mention just the simple concept of electrical lines shorting out or wearing down, the dryer is a machine that jumps around and moves a lot due to mechanical agitation and ideally holding a lot of hot, dry tinder.
"$hit happens" sure, it's no shock that you, personally, feel no danger from your undoubtedly pristine dryer. But maybe step outside of that life and think maybe not every viewer is going to be operating under ideal circumstances. Just don't make it a habit to recommend to an audience anything that they can take to an 'extreme' just by living a life slightly different than yours lol
