This was one of my grandma's recipes that my family loved when she made. She passed away a year ago almost to the day and I miss her so much. The only differences in her recipe is 2 eggs in the crust portion and no butter in the top portion. Truly a delicious dessert, I’m going to make it again.

So I finally made your recipe. Actually I've made it twice. First time I forgot to put the vanilla extract in it. It was good. The second one was much better. I did bake the butter cake for 35 minutes and it was even ooey, gooeyer. Thank you again.

Bakery's here in Pa make a runny cake where when you cut a piece out, the butter oozes out and fills the empty spot from the piece. My wife has tried to make a runny buttercake but cant find a recipe. No disrespect intended as I am sure your cake is good.

In Philly, I don't remember them putting powdered sugar on top. When I saw the picture of your cake, that is what I remembered.

I've made it dozens of times...I cut the sugar fod the filling to 3/4 c...and 1/4 c honey its plenty sweet..I also use unsalted butter.

Thanks for sharing your recipe with us because it’s definitely something I’m going to be adding to my catalog of desserts!!
