In this video I talk to snowboarders about how they learned to snowboard.
I learned watching from CZcams and falling a lot. I only get to snowboard once a year in December, but I look forward to it every time.
I started learning snowboarding at the age of 49. It's really important to hire a coach at this age.
I went on a school trip where we somehow got a lesson, rental, lift ticket, and ride to the mountain all for 15 bucks. My friends kept telling me how great it was so it was a really good opportunity to get into it. I got addicted instantly
back when a dimebag cost a dime XD. i learned at a mtn where a season pass was $54. those were the days. i think a day at vail is like $260 now

I started going to small places in Poland with a friend and got insanely hooked. Mostly DIY style, a lesson here and there and watching videos!

At first i started the winter sports with skiing , but then i wanted to try out snowboarding.
One day ( about 6 years ago) i hiked up the slope abut 50 times , and fell about 500 times 😆 , because i couldn't control the snowboard.
I came home and started researching about how to ride, and guess what ... I found your videos , and i'm riding ever since 🤩🤘🙏👍 Thanks dood!
i learned to snowboard at an afterschool ski program in 3rd grade in oregon. ill never forget that first toeside turn. i cant believe that was over 20 years ago. lifes a trip!
I grew up in the south skiing for a week ever my winter, the last year I was down there I got a onewheel, rode it around all summer, and when we moved and ski season came around I went to a small mountain and starting linking turns in like 30 minutes
I went on a trip with some friends. They went tobogganing, i rented a snowboard for the day. That night i started researching and 6 months later i had my first setup and linked up with kevs channel and havent looked back…

I learned to snowboard with a friend of mine at a local mountain. He took me to the tallest vertical run, then left me to fend for myself. I HAD to learn how to snowboard😂 there’s only one way down a hill lol

@@drlecter3608 save yourself a LOT of trouble and pain, and just take a lesson. Being told to "just figure it out" is the most ineffective way to learn by far.
I had one lesson to begin with... but it was almost counter-productive. The real lesson came when I face-planted catching an edge. The horrible instructor did not instill in me the most important concept of Snowboarding; the edge is everything. Once I learned that, it was on. Day 2, I was in love.

41, knew how to ski, watch CZcams chairlift tips for snowboarders, then just practiced by heel sliding. Boom
My friend and his dad took me on a ski trip with them, both of them ski. His dad asked me if I knew how to snowboard, I said yup and we went on a black diamond. Let's just say I walked down it 😂😂 long story short his dad took me on the bunny hill and taught me how 😂

Friends trip to Thredbo... and it didnt not come naturally or quickly to me. A really awful group lesson and the better part of a week on the buddy hill on my but in the snow before i found any kind of control... the next year I went back to it, tried again and again and again. Some lessons and found SPC beginner playlist... the rest is history.
