Can you link the hdmi to av adapter i recently bought a security camera set and didn't realize it only had an hdmi output (Guess i should've guessed given our day and age) and i was planning on using a tiny old crt monitor i had but it doesn't have and hdmi input and that would really help so i can get my smart tv back and not have to buy a new tv just for the cams

Never really saw why people were excited over a console being the size of a TV. Wouldnt you want something small?
@@gamingnubs7628 ideally, yes. However the console is that big because the cooler is that big, and while you want the smallest console you can get you also want the biggest cooler possible. And given the most prevalent complaint about the ps4 was its noise and not its size, this one has a BIG QUIET* cooler.
*inb4 the coil whine: I don’t know how bad it is exactly, but the one video I saw that mentioned it mentioned they boosted the audio levels to make it easier to hear. Also coil whine is from like a capacitor or some other electrical components running at a specific frequency and not a part of the cooler.
@@levygaming3133 i guess its an advantage, but the pure size of it makes it impossible to store for some people.
@@gamingnubs7628 yeah, they certainly did make it hard to fit into existing spaces. I think the only part of my house I could fit one is this shelf I have next to my TV that’s almost the size of a fireplace. Still, hopefully it’ll be quiet. Not that I plan on picking be up any time soon.
@@levygaming3133 trust me, dont pick up the ps5 or xbox series x until a smaller version is out (or atleast a hardware change). The early systems are the ones that will fail. Take it from the guy (me) whos PS3 broke in 8 months after purchase.

@Champion Daruk iPhone 12 Max is like Xbox One but with a much faster CPU, so it's not that far away to have PS5 hardware in something the size of a smartphone.

Don't know if you're looking to upgrade your setup, but they make portable screens with HDMI in these days. Basically like a laptop screen, but without the rest of the laptop

Those adapters are how I watch Live TV in my truck along with playing retro games in my truck. HDMI input to AV output will allow you to connect any HDMI device (Roku, Fire Stick, Android Stick, etc) to the AV of your vehicle/radio. I have videos on my CZcams channel showing my truck and the setup. They are older videos, but I still have the truck and it still works perfectly.

After 10 years or more on CZcams, this title and thumbnail was the most clickbaitey looking title ever and I was setting myself up for disappointment, but gosh darn it you’ve done it. You ACTUALLY did it! Absolutely amazing stuff, great video abs hopefully the ads off this video recouped the cost of that £120 adapter and more🙌🏻

Thank you so much for this video. Love your work. I collect gameboy myself. I have been working on Gamecube with the gameboy player by getting the heat sink off the Japanese system and connecting the R6 connection and making it English.
I have an HDMI2AV and I know that instead of disabling HDCP, you could have just *plugged the adapter into power*
Hook up a SNES with a Super Game Boy and you can play pre-GBA games on the Micro without emulation

I was in the Army when the N64 was released. Bought one while on base and had nothing but a 3 inch Sony TV to play it on. Rigged it up and played it as is, had so much fun playing Mario 64.
You should totally hook up a Gamecube with the GBA player into this. That way you could play GBA on a GBA with a Gamecube crammed in the middle.

I actually used one of these in college. I couldn't take my TV with me, but I got an old glitchy flat screen TV for free from a buddy. It didn't have an HDMI port, but I nabbed one of these guys for $10 on eBay, and it worked fine! I did the same thing to run my Switch on a clunky old projector I had lying around!
@@aterthune is playing video games with a projector worth it? All I've heard is that even the best projectors have like 10 times the input lag of a TV, so it makes most games unplayable
@@duffman18 So in my experience, yes. The input lag was negligible, even on games like Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart. I also hooked my Switch up to it for a while to play Fortnite when it dropped, and I still had a great time. While your mileage may vary, it gets a pass from me.
@@duffman18 I had always heard that too, but they have projectors targeted specifically for games now. I bought one recently and it’s exactly like a tv in terms of input lag, I don’t notice any at all but I’m sure there’s a negligible amount. Definitely worth it... as long as you’ve got a room that’s full dark in the day time and don’t mind playing in the dark.
Oh awesome then, that's great to hear. I might have to invest in one then. I've got blackout curtains in my bedroom cos usually the light around 6-8pm is intense and I can't see shit in there on like a tablet screen or something. So I got the curtains, and I means I'll have a dark room to play it in. I've got a switch and a gaming pc, could move the PC into there, but also I plan to get a PS5, partly because it supports ultra HD blu Ray. So that bad boy with a projector would be great for that and for games. This is quite exciting

I picked up an HDMI to AV adapter to connect Roku to a big old CRT to make it a smart TV. Have the TV setup to tons of OG retro consoles. Now I can use it to stream videos to a CRT for nostalgia purposes. You know, the quality is really quite good still. Not the details so much but how vivid the picture is. Definitely nice kicking back to an old CRT every once in a while. Plus, I have a big 4k pretty much beside it so I can run two things simultaneously (like game and movie).
Who needs an 8K OLED 3D TV when you've got a Game Boy Micro? Not I.

This is the greatest thing that has ever happened.
The HDMI-AV adapter exists for people who still have CRTs like the boarding school I went to. Our senior boarding house only had a CRT so I got one of these adapters.
Did you know that the original PSP had a crazy third party video output adapter that was literally just a camera in a box that clipped onto the front of the screen. It could be an interesting thing to look at in a future video.

3:35 Recording onto VHS if you are into that stuff, hooking a modern console/bd player/set top box up to an old TV, because you like an old TV. Or maybe for using with an old projector.
